Summary: ONE OF THE GREATEST "LITTLE" MOVIES
Review: A lot of folk make a big deal out of the fact that "legally blonde" Reese makes her film debut with this movie. Most of us, however, watch movies for the storytelling. (We all have wasted hours of our lives watching absolute dogs because some overpaid windbag was in it.) But this is a great story and you won't care who the "stars" are. If we never heard from any of these actors again this would still be a great movie.

The plotline is very simple and in many ways predictable. But the real art is how the story is told from beginning to end. You end up caring about all the characters and how your sympathy moves from one to another.

Buy this DVD and buy some additional copies to give to your friends. I have found myself thinking about this movie years after I first watched it. Its that good.

(OK. I'm glad little Reese W. went on to become a big star making other films. But I watched those films and forgot them the next day. It would be ironic if at the end of her career her best film was made before anyone cared about who she was.)

Summary: A Great Movie For Sisters To Watch Together
Review: I first saw this movie on lifetime over the summer when I was 11, and I just recently recieved it as a gift. This is one of the best movies i have ever seen. I feel that it brought my sister and I closer together because we seemed to go through the sames troubles as Dani and Mauren did. I will always enjoy watching The Man In The Moon.

Summary: A movie to remember
Review: I saw this movie in the theater on my first date. It was a double date with my best friend and her boyfriend. They had set me up with his best friend. Having said all of that you could probably guess I was about the same age as Dani in the movie. By the end of the movie, I forgot where I was and that I was trying to impress this boy that I was on a date with. I let myself get so wrapped up in the movie I was crying like a baby. I looked away long enough to make eye contact with my best friend and realize she was crying too. The guys we were with didn't know what to do with us.

I loved this movie from the first time I saw it and every time I see it, it nevers looses its effect on me. A few less tears nowadays but still the same heart wrenching emotion of growing up, falling in love, losing your first love, and realizing your sister will be the one there for you 'til the end. Just as powerful now at 24 as it was at 12.

I highly recommend this movie!! It is still one of my faves twelve years, many boyfriends, and a happy marriage later. It takes you right back to your first kiss! Hoepfully yours was worth remembering!

Summary: A Beautiful, Heartbreaking Film
Review: "The Man in the Moon" is a beautifully realistic look at life, through the eyes of an adolescent. Director Robert Mulligan magically re-creates screenwriter Jenny Wingfield's autobiography of her childhood through gorgeous cinematography and a haunting, lyrical musical score. This film hits home as one of the most powerful and emotionally affecting films in recent times.

This film is incredible, all the acting first rate, especially Sam Waterston and an astonishing performance by Reese Witherspoon in her film debut. You will feel every emotion as this life changing summer in 1957 on the Trant family farm comes to a conclusion.

"The Man in the Moon" is wonderful movie that everyone will enjoy, and since it was a limited release in 1991, you will be sure that most of you're friends and family will have never heard of it. Buy this dvd and enjoy 100 minutes of pure poetic art. This film truely is the essence of filmaking at its finest.

Summary: Introducing Reese Witherspoon
Review: Well this movie will probably be best remembered as the movie that introduced us to the beautiful Reese Witherspoon. It was her debut movie and she was 14 when she did it. She was initially going to be an extra in this movie, but the director loved her so much that he decided to cast her in the lead role of Dani Trant. You could tell that she has a natural ability to act and great screen presence, even for someone so young. While Sam Waterson, Tess Harper, Emily Warfield and Jason London were all good, it was Reese who stole the show, well for me anyway. I thought she was just so charming and sweet and you could really relate to her character. I mean who hasn't felt what she felt in one point or another in their life. Great movie, great performances!
