Summary: very obvious!
Review: I know lots of people liked this movie but, I for one did not. It was very obvious within the first 10 minutes of this movie that you would know how it was going to end. I don't know who pared up Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron but, they make a lousy couple. They just don't click together. There is no chemistry there. I would recomend renting this one first before thinking about buying it.

Summary: A disappointment
Review: The movie has a very weak storyline, loosely linked chapters, total disappointment from a good cast.

Summary: Im Impressed!! a great movie
Review: I havent seen the original, and i always like to do that first.. but..I couldnt take my eyes off this movie!!! You never knew what was going to happen next. the transformation of Keanu was so slow and subtle, it was done very well. and Theron... well, she is just Top notch actress, she says it all with her eyes. I couldnt really see them together romantically on screen, but it worked better than I imagined.

Its funny too. I laughed a lot. But get your tissues out, its a real tearjerker.

excellent movie....

Ive seen 1,400 (over) movies so I like to think I know what Im talking about...but who knows?

I plan to buy it, ...I think you find its worth it...

I think the guys may like it. I dont really think its a CHICK FLICK (GOSH I HATE THAT PHRASE)

Summary: Not exactly a fair tale......
Review: Interesting, but slightly unbelievable story of a workaholic who takes up a crazy women's offer to stay with her for a month. No workaholic would take that offer, but Keanu Reeves does. I loved Charlize Theron's portrayal of this character, she is the only good thing about this film. And be forwarned, this is not the fairy tale it seems to be. The movie was shooting for the top and the typical fairy tale ending, but went the other way. Too much to believe in, including the ending. Watchable, but not that great.

Summary: Incredibly well played and though out
Review: This is perhaps one of the greatest movies i have ever seen, because it is very sad and its a movie that makes you think about how much life has to offer and how one day everything can slip away. It also brings out the point that death and life comes and goes but love is everlasting.

Summary: A romance where real life isn't important
Review: Sweet November is one of those movies where cold hard reality doesn't really exist in it's ficticious little world. However, having said that, director Pat O'Connor does his best to create a little bohemian world that is inviting, mainly due to the charisma of the two main leads.

Nelson is an ad exec that exists in a world where they are forced to implant a phone to their brain, forgo their personal lives and become ratrace automatons. He meets Sara (in a way that only exists in movies), at the DMV. After getting her accidently kicked out, she starts intruding into his life by telling him about her "one month" boyfriend idea, where she takes a lover for one month and improves his life. Nelson, already thinking she is crazy is mortified and justifiable dumps her. Then he is dumped by his girlfriend, but that is just the beginning.

Eventually in a presentation to a hot dog company, that would never exist in real life (I could of done a better pitch job...Market Demographic Reports anyone?), he is canned and takes her up on the offer. She teaches him to respect life and take control of it. Of course, it is easy to do such things when you don't need a job to support yourself, which is too easily explained as Sara being a E-commerce guru. I don't need Sara to show me how to live life, I need to win the lottery....

There are some plot twists that turn this story into a twisted Pretty Woman/Romeo&juliet story and it ends on a somber note. I won't go into this because I don't want to give away plot points (even though they were pretty easy to see a mile away).

Anyone who lives an existance which is composed of all work, having no friends, hobby or romantic life will find this movie appealing (like me). This is our fantasy, to find an attractive mate that will "be your slave", never work, visit beaches and eat good food; but it just will never happen, that's why I see this movie as more of a whimsical fantasy rather than a serious romance. There is nothing that works on the sensible side of my brain. If I came at it for what it is, I would say this is a non-sensical movie that stereotypes 1. Gay men 2. Corporate Executives 3. the Standard Protagonist among others. There are some very hokey points in the movie as well, one which involves very bad singing by Keanu and another which involves 12 lame presents including a dishwasher. Also, the whole setup of finding, serving and improving a person for one month is bizarre and would indicate that Sara needs some major psychological help. Luckily, I kept that part of my brain shut off for this movie.

However, I did like the ending, an ending which I wish "Pretty Women" had. Too often in these movies, the man changes and the woman falls into his arms, to live happily ever after. This doesn't happen and the way that O'connor ends it provides a much more powerful statement that anything julia roberts and richard gere did in their "fairytale romance".

Overall, this movie is not bad. While it is overly sentimental and unrealistic, it is lovely to look at (especially the charismatic leads) and does have moments of both serendipity and retrospect that make it worth watching...Rating: C+

Summary: Good entertainment, but not much more.
Review: A good movie to see if you are in the mood for an entertaining, light humoured romance.

This movie lacks depth, however, and failed to enspire me to the point of whishing that I was actually alive in it and part of the characters' lives.

Reeves plays the role of a highly successful advertizing executive riding the wave of success - unfortunately, to the detriment of his tolerance for others on a lower level than himself, or moving slower than his self-imposed hyperfast pace of life. He has no time for those unable to keep up...

Until Sara (Charlize Theron) enters his life. She is an unassuming, full of life person, who manages to see the good in life, and wants to show it to others. Hence her romantic overtures towards Nelson.

At first, he wants to know nothing about her, but gradually, using clever wit, she manages to draw him into her life, and promises him a month that will change his life, in return.

What follows is a good, but somewhat blaze, story of two people in love. Nothing new there - even Sara's terminal sickness could have been predicted.

What is a bit outrageous, and mind-jarring, is Nelson's sudden about turn from selfish, rude high-flyer, to people loving, domesticated, kind-hearted father figure. Plaudible as it may be, we know that life does not quite work that way, or at least not so quick or easy . . .

Also, the ending was a bit melodramatic, and leaves the whole tale hanging in the air - one almost expects to see the words "To be continued" appearing on the screen (or perhaps whish that it would?).

This is a difficult movie to voice an absolute opinion about - at once it is good entertainment, but at some times lacks the sparkle one would expect from actors of this stature.

Compliments, though, to Charlize for the way she managed to portray what it should be like to love life, in all its exhuberant beauty and intensity.
