Summary: Don't Bother
Review: I found myself wanting to body-check whoever produced this pile of dreck. I haven't anything against either of the stars, they seem like decent people. However, this was a far from decent film.
I thought the premise was exploitative and the film should have been entitled "Mr. November." People would have been justifiably appalled if a film had been made about a male character who found a different woman to boff every month and then dumped her. I found myself wondering if the story was a revenge fantasy penned by a woman who had been wrongfully dumped by some cad. I also found myself feeling bad for Reeves' character and wanting to choke Theoren's. Then I found myself wanting to choke me for making the poor choice to watch this movie. Next time I want to see Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theoren together, I'll watch The Devil's Advocate, which I would give three stars.
If you want heartbreaker type romance, watch Love Story instead. Myself, I think I'll watch Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I'd rather laugh than cry anytime.

Summary: Horrible -- ZERO STARS
Review: This is an absolutely disgusting story about a sleazy woman who uses her illness as an excuse to have a new relationship with a different guy every month. Worse yet, the previous "boyfriends" hang around her house and walk in and grab coffee from her kitchen in the morning, walk in on her and Keanu in various intimate moments to have a conversation, and everyone acts like it's all just fine -- as if this ridiculous behavior is perfectly acceptable.
This film is a perfect example of how Hollywood is doing everything possible to once again make it seem like the behavior that the shallow producers, actors, directors, and the rest of the entertainment industry engage in regularly is not so bad. They can keep their sleaze and this movie. Don't buy this one.

Summary: Enjoyable tear jerker
Review: This is one of the romantic films Reeves has done that I enjoyed. He is a self centered boob who needs to slow down and the evolving relationship with Charlize Theron moves at a slow and easy pace- not forced over their month together.

Set in San Francisco it is romantic, has some snappy dialog and two compelling and attractive leads. Not Oscar worthy but a good sappy romantic story perfect for a chick flick evening in.
Recommended beverage to accompany this one- a rich Zinfandel. Dry Creek is good choice- or a merlot/cab blend from Australia- Rosemoor's is good.

Summary: Laughable -- Another Keanu Comedy Classic!!!
Review: As in The Devil's Advocate, Keanu Reeves in Sweet November tries to play a talented professional who has reached the top of his profession, in this case a successful but heartless advertising executive. To suggest that Reeves is in over his head is to understate the situation. The man simply cannot make me believe that he has anything like an I.Q. His big Hot Dog Advertising Campaign Presentation is one of the funniest scenes in movie history, mainly because one can sense that Keanu is working so very very hard and is failing so very very badly. It is hysterically funny, just like Elizabeth Berkley's big dramatic tantrums in Showgirls. It should be common knowledge by now: Keanu Reeves cannot act. He cannot act. He cannot act.
Sweet November is a silly little bit of romance that is lifted straight into high-camp heaven, just by casting the inept Keanu Reeves.

Summary: No probs with Keanu or Charlize
Review: Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron are reunited in this chick-flick. It's great to see them starring alongside each other again, after igniting the screen during Devil's Advocate. It's a similar situation to Devil's Advocate, but a different storyline, just extremely similar characters. Keanu and Charlize have a great terrific chemistry, and when you see them behind the scenes in the extras, they seem to get on well together. They're almost the next Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

This isn't really a date film, a film you would go see with your boyfriend, as they would most likely end up slagging off Keanu's performance and then drooling over Charlize. This is a film you would go see with your girlfriends, or sit at home and watch alone, so you don't have to be ashamed of crying!

Both actors are great in this film, and both don't really have to stretch themselves much, as they've played these characters in the past. Some people will slag off Keanu's performance, but these people are just jealous.

There are a few very nice topless shots of Keanu, showing off his infamous scar on his torso and since it was around the same time as Matrix, he's still very much muscular and bulked up - gorgeous. Although not quite as bulked up as he was for Speed, just lots of definition.

It's not obvious to start with that Sarah (Charlize's character) is ill - sorry to spoil it, but if you've heard about this film, you'll know it's a tearjerker. She seems scatterbrained, and extremely dizzy, and likes dogs. As the film progresses, you notice little bits and pieces, and her face looking more and more drawn, before it gets discovered, by Nelson (Keanu's character). This film must have been hard for Keanu to film, as it's about cancer and a terminal illness. Any Keanu fan will know one of his sisters has had cancer on and off for the past few years, and although she was in remission, the cancer reappeared around the time of the Matrix films. So this film may have hit a chord with Keanu, he probably would have agreed to do it, just because of that, and not because it's a big Hollywood blockbuster.

The brilliant Enya backs some of the most romantic and poignant scenes in the film, and it really sets the tone of the film. I used to be a fan of hers when I was young, as the music is so peaceful and always makes me teary. I think I'll have to dig out my old album of hers - or buy the soundtrack to this!

This tops even Devil's Advocate, and both stars positively shine in this - just don't let your boyfriend see it, cos he WILL sit there slagging it off!

Summary: 5 stars as unintentional comedy
Review: I'd heard that Sweet November was simply awful. So I decided to try it because oftentimes awful movies can be excellent unintentional comedies. I wasn't disappointed. While it is one of the worst romantic movies ever made (Keanu Reeves? Give me a break) it works very well as camp.

From Reeves' excrutiatingly awful "Hot Dog" presentation to his tear-of-pain inducing final denoument with Theron at the end this movie is class A laughs from beginning to end.

The juxtaposition of one of the worst, most wooden and lifeless "actors", Reeves, with one of the most endearing and lively actresses, Theron, gives one the idea that maybe the director is completely clueless. That or he wanted to simply make Reeves look as bad as possible. If that was the director's intention then he succeeded admirably.

It also has one of the possibly most embarassing actor scenes of all time when Jason Isaacs completely humiliates himself in a green sequined dress.

What a joke of a movie. Definitely an excellent choice for an evening of MST3King with some good friends.

Summary: Charming
Review: Of course the premise is absurd but you know that going into it. Nevertheless, Sara (Theron) will wrap you around her finger just as she did Keanu Reeves. Sure, Reeves can be kind of wooden but it doesn't affect the movie. It's charming throughout. Cynical bashing of 'chick flicks' is pretty standard but, assuming you can get past that, I think you'll enjoy this movie.

Summary: Can't say
Review: I watched the whole movie for the first time in TV. After watching the movie, I COULD NOT GO TO SLEEP. I was keep thinking about the movie. The end bothered me very much. Why in the world Nelson go after her? I don't know, the ending just bothered me so much, I couldn't go to sleep.

Summary: A fantastic love story...
Review: A compelling love story about how opposites attract. When Nelson(Keanu Reeves) and Sara (Charlize Theron) meet in this movie it is not love at first sight, but as the story progresses they begin to fall in love and soon Keanu finds out that she has cancer. This story is a tearjerker and is a must see movie!!
