Summary: Horrible
Review: This is one of the worst movies I have seen. It follows the book well, but is horrible (unlike the book). The guy from Mighty Ducks, Amelio Arestaves or whatever and whoever plays Dally are the only good actors. Dreadful stuff...It doesn't make sense. Good Book, good other books, good other movies, but this one is horrible. Don't waste your time. Read the book.

Summary: The Amazing Movie-The Outsiders
Review: Let's start with the cast, and what a perfect cast,(The Greasers) The role of The Curtis brothers were Ponyboy Curtis-C.Thomas Howell, Darrel Curtis-Patrick Swayze, and Sodapop Curtis-Rob Lowe, Dallas Winston-Matt Dillon, Two-Bit Matthews-Emilio Esteves, Steve Randell-Tom Cruise, and Johnny Cade-Ralph Maccio. There were also some inclusions of Diane Lane as Cherry Valance, Bob was Lief Garret, and even S.E Hinton was one of the nurses. This movie takes place in Oklahoma, where the people are split up into groups (The Socials and The Greasers) because of what they look like and their backgrounds. The movie seems to remind me of everyday life. I think the point of this movie was to tell you that no matter who you are and what your background is, you're you, and no one can take that away from you. After watching the movie and reading the book, i could actually see everything that happened, the details were so amazing. I mean from the Part at the movies to the fire...but i won't give the movie away, you'll just have to see it for yourself, and i advise you to go see that movie.

Summary: the outsiders
Review: The outsiders is the best movie! Johnny Macchio is so0o cute. it tells about pony boy and johnny in the church with the beautiful sunset then pony boy says a great poem which is what johnny meant but pony doesnt know what it meant. the last 2 lines were : so dawn goes down today nothing gold can stay. theres 2 gangs and theyre apart of thr greasers. The other gang is a socs. They had to hide out in the church because johnny killed the soc that was drowning ponyboy. they see a chruch on fire with kids in it. they become heros but johnny got burnt real bad. before he dies he tells ponyboy to stay gold. Its really sad when he dies.then pony finds a letter johnny had written him and it tells him that the guy that wrote that poem meant youre gold when your a child.there is aslo a great song by steve wounder.this is so much better of a movie but i cant tell it all with only this little room to write. This is a must see movie and is even better on DVD!

Summary: An excelent movie
Review: The Outsiders is a good movie. Although none of these movies are as good as the book, it is pretty close. They left out some of the scenes that are in the book. I recomend that everyone own this video.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: I thought it was a great movie. The acting of Ralph Macchio,C Thomas Howell, and Matt Dillon was superb. Macchio put so much feeling to the character Johnny Cade that he made me cry when Johnny Cade died. (and I dont cry at the movies often.)

Somewhat true to the book, but they did take out a few vital parts of the book in the production of the movie. Such as when Darry and Ponyboy chase Sodapop down the street and Darry and Pony decide never to fight again. Also the court scene was clipped from the movie.

But overall, it was great!

Summary: SUCH A COOL MOVIE!!!
Review: I think this movie ROX!!! Probably because I was a fan of the
book. I must have read it 50 times! Or maybe because Ponyboy
Michael Curtis(C. Tomas Howell) and Jr. Sodapop Patrick Curtis
(Rob Lowe) were so HOT!!! Soda's always been my fav.! And yes
that is their full names, not something I just made up for kicks. And for you relly big fans of The Outsiders like who memorizes lines for fun, I guess that you noticed my name is their Dad's nickname for Soda, "Pepsi-cola"

Summary: The book was much better.
Review: The Outsiders novel is a classic. One of the few books that I actaully enjoyed reading in my junior high - High school years. I just recently saw the Outsiders movie, and I was extremely dissapointed. If my memory serves correctly, there was a lot more dialogue with the Curtis brothers. They also neglected Ponyboy getting ganged up by the socs. I thought that Sodapop had blonde hair? The kid who played Ponyboy Curtis.. was horrible! But everyone else is great here though. On its own, pretty good movie, but compared to the book? Mediocre

Summary: An interesting coppola outing, but not worth the time
Review: This is the type of movie that people have sort of love-hate relationships with. A few people love it, pretty much everyone else hates it. It is based on the S. E. Hinton novel of the same name and, for the most part, follows it rather closely (especially when compared with more modern book-film adaptations). Obsessive Hinton fans might be upset at certain nit picky details. Interestingly enough, I have read some pretty sick reviews including one reviewer who remarked that he/she liked it when the main characters got their pants wet and another reviewer who remarked that it was a very blatantly homosexual and was surprised that Hinton (a woman) wrote the original book.
However, have no delusions about the movie. It is a badly-acted badly-written and (dare I say) badly-directed. Interesting it is, too, how many now-famous actors were in this movie 'way back' in the 80's. Even so, a majority of them are very bad in this movie (take the infamous lead in the "Karate Kid"). See this movie depending on your feelings about the book (which I found OK; it's not nearly as captivating as everyone else says it is). To me, however, it is not worth the 91 minutes it takes to watch it.
