Summary: I love this movie
Review: I love this movie! I have seen this movie so many times, it is so good. If you've seen "The Temptations" and like it, you have to see this as well. They make you think they were really a group. It's like it's a true story. You've gotta see it!

Summary: TERRIBLE!!
Review: This is probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. I cannot understand why people like it so much!
Robert Townsend is not my favorite performer and why he would make this type of film is beyond me.
The scene in which he and his sister are singing in the bedroom and he is handing her the pieces of paper with the words on them, please!
NOPE! Don't waste your eye power watching this one.

Summary: Two Thumbs UP and a Big TOE!
Review: I loved this movie. It depicts real life struggles and triumphants. I first watched this movie about 5+ years ago and right away went out and bought the soundtrack. I 100% recommend the 5 Heartbeats soundtrack!!!

Summary: Nothing short of a Classic
Review: The Five Heartbeats is one of my favorite movies. The story is real and the acting was great. Who can forget Eddie Kang Jr. This movie will make you laugh..remember when Flash accepeted his award and said he was leaving the group..he said "this is a sad day becuase these guys treated me like a brother but I'm leaving the group..look for my new solo album in stores in two weeks titled..."Flash, it's lonely at the top"..that was funny..the movie can also make you cry ..remember Eddie Kang singing..."Nights like this i wish..that rain drops would fall"......the movie is classic

Summary: Very unprofessional
Review: I was not happy with the 5 heartbeats, I found the cast in the movie vulgar, and vain. I didn't get a since of making good music from the 5 heartbeats, .... The cursing out of fellow heartbeats in a public setting also very unprofessional, and classless. The other glaring problem was I believe their 1972 concert (completely unhistorically correct, someone didn't do their homework) done with drum machine synthesizer music, not real instruments with real musicians, as was the custom of that period, and not the [inexpensive] cookie cutter synthesized, drum machine music we've learned to tolerate since about the mid 80's. I give the 5 heartbeats 2 thumbs down.

Summary: one of my all-time-favorites
Review: I love this movie. If you're into classic soul music, then you should watch this movie. I wasn't there, but I think the things that happen in this movie, probably happened to almost every singing group out there. Also, the soundtrack is pretty good too..

Summary: I'VE GOT NOTHING BUT LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE.....
Review: FOR THIS MOVIE!!! The Five Heartbeats was one of the most phenomenal movies that I have seen. Behind a stellar soundtrack that will keep you singing along, the movie explored so many key life themes. Two of the more important themes were forgiveness and redemption, two qualities that are sometimes overlooked in the hustle and bustle of life...
There is definitely something in this movie that everyone can relate to, whether its sibling rivalry, outgrowing a stagnant relationship, or finding the courage to follow your dreams through life...

Summary: A Heart is a House for Love
Review: Robert Townsend, took it to the stage in the most entertaining way. This is a story of all that goes on in the music business and the not so glamourous performances behind the lights and the glitter. The actors are so into character that if you see them in another movie, you will relate them by their stage names in the Five Heartbeats. Outstanding performance and the music is so so real.
