Summary: ONCE IN A LIFETIME
Review: I WILL SAY THIS ONCE.THAT KIND OF ROMANTIC DRAMA COMES ONCE IN A LIFETIME

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: It's a sad day when Clint does films like this.
Review: Clint doesn't destroy one bridge. Remember "Where Eagles Dare"? They blew up a bridge at the end of the movie. Not here he only takes stupid pictures. Please Mr. Eastwood don't make a sequel.

Summary: Most Touching Love Story Ever Told!
Review: I have seen this movie 10 times and it never fails to touch my heart each time I see it. It still boggles me as to why Meryl Streep did not win an award for her role in this manificent movie. She is absolutely at her best in this film. Everything about thismovie is just right i.e. the mood, the music, the stars. This will no doubt remain one of my favourite movies of all time. If you are a Merly Streep fan like I am, do check out another steller performance by her in " One True Thing "

Summary: The Greatest Love Story ever put on film!
Review: Eastwood and Streep do a fabulous job of breathing life in the most wonderful Love Story I've ever watched! When I first saw this movie, I was really touched. When I later read the book, with the additional insight that it offers, and learned that this was a true story, I was even more deeply moved. A must for anyone who believes in the power of romantic love. Bittersweet and beautiful!

Summary: poor bridges- good love
Review: I can say clearly: the bridges of Madison County are ugly constructions that in my opinion not merite one solely photograph, so no wonder Meryl Streep says she goes not much by there; USA architecture is very modern compared with Europe, but as it were, surely there are best buildings than these. But feelings and love history are intemporal. Eastwood show us that he is perhaps a rough and experienced man but that he knows some more than only fire a handgun. Meryl Streep not needs to be a splendorous young girl to make credible the movie. Love is for all ages, as bridges everywhere, and I think this film is not perhaps excellent, but it approaches.

Summary: I look forward to seeing it over and over again.
Review: Each time I viewed this love story I felt I was looking into a window seeing two people who magically came together to find each other and sharing their inside deep emotions that sometimes cannot be put into words but must be acted out with gestures, and untold emotions that we each have but sometimes are afraid to admit. She had an untold story deep within herself that she was unable to convey to her family. Her dreams still inside but destined to die only because of the disappointment of her life on the farm. A disappointment she was willing to accept. When she met this man who was a total stranger she conveyed an easiness of conversation sometimes with a tease and sometimes showing a bit of sarcasm. At times you could almost hear her mind speak silently as he expressed his thoughts to her in response to her unhappiness. I can still hear his words speaking with such intensity about her dreams. She looked at him as if his words somehow conforted her. His character being a man of many travels and experiences amused her and made her feel an excitment of another world. She was being drawn to him not only because he was different from her life as she knew it, but felt a real connection with this person who made her feel differently as a woman. Her day to day routine had been interrupted and she felt an excitment that she hadn't felt for a very long time. He, on the other hand, was on an assignment, and that was it. But the innocence of their first time meeting gave way to friendship leading to a desire to meet once again. I don't believe he was totally aware of her inward frustrations at the beginning, and in fact he tried to suggest that it wouldn't be such a good idea for them to meet if it was going to affect her reputation in this small town. I do believe he was sincere. But being a man of many travels, I'm sure this wasn't the first time he had been in this kind of situation. What impressed me the most was their total honestly about their love. The last scene made you stop and think "What would I do in a case like that?" She was right in her decision. And, he was right to acknowledge his love for her. It ended as it should have. This doesn't mean I agree with adultery. After viewing this movie, I had to ask myself could "I" be as strong as she was when events changed her life so dramatically. Love is a very deep emotion and we, individually, are responsible for our own thoughts, actions and words.

Summary: A must see for anyone who has ever really loved someone..
Review: I am not a big Clint fan, and I think that helped me buy into this film. (Some Clint fans are unable to get over his "western" image.) This movie is one of my all-time favorites, and makes me cry every time I watch it! The scene when she is running through the house as he is pulling away... and the scene when she has her hand on the trucks door handle.... oh my GOD... what would any of us really do to follow our heart... even though our feet are grounded... I do not believe in infidelity... but this movie really makes me wonder what I would do if I thought I was with Mr. Right, and the real Mr. Right came along! A must see for anyone who can look past the infidelity, and look into their hearts and lives!

Summary: I agree with the viewer from San Jose
Review: I would award this film one star were it not for the strong performances by Streep and Eastwood. However, there is the inescapable fact that this movie is a syrupy toast to the "wonders" of adultery. Of course adulterous affairs are potentially more romantic than committed relationships: they are generally shorter, more like courtship and less like the sometimes grind of the daily round, and -- most importantly -- novel. Now, I cannot speak from experience on that; and I hope I never will. But finally, as painful as much of this movie is, the book is ten times worse. That man simply cannot write (e.g. "he was a strange stranger"); I am ashamed for us all that it ever topped the bestseller lists. Fortunately, its -- and this film's -- 15 minutes of fame are apparently long since over.
