Summary: The best of Hanks
Review: Watch this film! If you don't wanna buy it, but wanna see it, record it off TMC or Showtime. If ya wanna buy this "CE" type, watch the also excellent mini-documentary.

Summary: By far my favorite!
Review: Ok, I bought this DVD and I didn't see the movie yet. All my friends told me about how great it was and so I started reading the book while I waited for the movie to be delivered. The book is great!(I'm not don't reading it yet). Then I watched the movie. It is exactly what I imagioned when I read the book! It's about a prison guard at the head of death row named Paul Edgecomb(Tom Hanks) and a very big man(John coffee, played by Micheal Clark Duncan) accused of murdering twin young girls. Soon the prison guards for E block discover that he has a gift to heel people and some sort of other power. It is a very good story, I almost cried and deserves more than 5 stars.

Summary: Hanks Just Missed Another Oscar
Review: Tom Hanks missed yet another Oscar, even though he gives a superlative performance. Hollywood will not reward him again until he does something beyond belief. This movie is very well done in nearly every detail. The acting is smooth and crisp; consistent performances by every supporting member of the cast are special. Filming is excellent as is the use of light and dark, close-ups and camera angles. The only flaw, and it's minor, is the length. The Green Mile is a tad long for most of today's audiences.

Good film...well worth seeing and owning.

Summary: Excellent
Review: I read the book before I watched the movie. The movie is almost true to type. There are suttle differences, but that what made the movie good. I didn't always know what to excpect. I thought that Michael Clarke Duncan was an excellent match for the giant John Coffey, like the drink only not spelt the same. It was also a hilarious movie with Coffey, Del, and Wild Bill. I loved the movie a lot!!

Summary: Typical Hanks!!
Review: Lets face it, Tom Hanks is one of the best actors ever! This is one of his finest movies. Whoever did the casting for The Green Mile did a heck of a job. I read the book first, which usually ruins the movie for you, however I think the Green Mile was one of those movies that rates right up there with the book. If you have read the book, but are hesitant to see the movie, let me encourage you to do so. You wont be disappointed!

Summary: I'm not sure why i'm so revolted by this movie
Review: I was disgusted by the way this movie ended and especially the last execution scene. Not because it was too graphic, but because it was such a storytelling cop out. It doesn't make any sense. Nor does the big giant's (John Coffee's) "I'm tired, boss . . . yadda, yadda, yadda," speech, ". . . it would be a kindness you'd be doing to do some physician-assisted suicide on me," speech. But then most of the major premises of this movie are bogus anyway. It seems that the only point of this movie is to play on people's sympathies. That didn't happen for me. instead I just feel disgusted with this film. What a waste.

For the emotionally impaired, you'll find this a five star movie and delightful use of an evening.

For the more sensible and intelligent, you'll likely find this a one or two star movie and a waste of your time and energy.

Summary: Deserves more than 5 stars
Review: Fabulous movie. I read the book first and I highly recommend that everyone do this, but I am sure it is not necessary to enjoy this movie. The Green Mile is an excellent adaptation of the book. Of course, it is not exact, but if it came any closer the movie would have been 6 hours long instead of 3! I believe you will find that the length of this movie will not be important once you start watching it. It is gripping and will tug at your heart for sure! Tom and Michael are excellent with a great supporting cast.

Summary: It is not fair!
Review: I read the book first and a long time ago I was expecting this movie to be released! Different from the book, the movie is even more "human" than the book, and not so terrific. It was original, with characters you would never forget. This movie didn't win the Oscar, so, what are you waithing for? Go to see this one! The picture and music were amazing, everything was amazing. The story himself make you watch this one just to make sure, to believe it. The final made me cry (who could stand that?), it is too much cruelty in the world, this movie is a light in the darkness and madness of the world. We need movies like this one.

Summary: ULTIMATE SPLENDOUR
Review: This has got to be one of the best pieces of film ever. THe splendor of it is beyond belief. John Coffey was so touching that it would bring anyone close to tears. This has got to be my favourite film ever! All I can say is it as the most ingenious piece of film ever. A must see.

Summary: THE GREEN MILE Makes a Fine Long Evening
Review: My wife and I found THE GREEN MILE deeply entertaining. There are times, of course, when the director obviously goes for viewer's tears, and some of the characters seem two-dimensional. At the same time, however, the care taken to demonstrate that compassion and humanity could develop even in death row works; Hanks' performance balances justice and necessity, duty and consideration remarkably. A couple of the scenes, due to their grisly nature, make this movie inappropriate for most younger viewers, but one of its themes, that one's stature depends a great deal on how one treats others, seems more poignant in contrast to those scenes. I offer a warm recommendation for this film.
