Summary: One of the most profound love stories of all time
Review: This is one of the most profound love stories of all time. I was moved to tears. Its themes of redemption (Jenny, Lieutenant Dan), life's purpose, commitment, and love unbounded are powerfully presented. It should challenge anyone to make the most of his or her God-given gifts. My favorite movie of all time.

Summary: Exceptionly Wonderful!!
Review: I wanted to watch this again after I watched it,and it's three hours long! This was such a well done movie. Tom Hanks gave a superb acting job as "Forrest Gump." Robert Zemeckis did an impressive directing job. The terrible part about "Forrest Gump" was the academy awards. The academy didn't recognize Sally Field, or Gary Sinise. Sally Field did a good job, but Gary Sinise did an brilliant performance! I didn't see "Ed Wood", but I doubt Martin Landau's perfomance as Ed Wood was as good as Gary Sinise's performance as Lietenant Dan. Amazing Movie, Everyone should have the pleasure of seeing it!

Summary: A Classic film on Simple Life
Review: Forrest Gump is a great story teller. It not only tells the story of one man's adventure. But the entire story of growing up American.

Summary: TOM HANKS ROLE HAS NEVER BEEN THIS GOOD!
Review: Forrest Gump deserved to win "Best Picture of 1994." Tom Hanks acting has made this movie real popular for everyone to watch. It just goes to show that learning disabled don't have to be treated like dirt. When the crutches came off, it was like magic. I even liked the part of 70's. And life is like a box of chocolates. You'll never know what you'll get, especially in your lifetime.

Summary: Botch-up job on the book
Review: The book was actually very funny, but i thought that this moviemanaged to leave out all the good laughs from the book. Read the book, you will enjoy it a lot more.

Summary: Professionally made confectionery.
Review: Deriving much from both "Zelig" and "Being There", "Forrest Gump" apes the humour of one and the irony of the other to spin this engaging tale of an all-American simpleton triumphing against the odds. Gump travels through late 'sixties America runnning the gauntlet of the Vietnam war and having brushes with both the Black Panther movement and the Watergate scandal. These scenes are fragmented, told as they are in Gump's own anecdotal narrative, and leave little room for any consistent theme or attempt at allegory. As each heart-warming episode follows the next it soon becomes clear that "Forrest Gump" is here to deliver easy Hollywood emotion and not a great deal else. "Jenny", the love of Gump's life, appears intermittently for romantic interest, but these sudden appearances are never explained and her final mothering of "Forrest jnr." (tacked-on to ensure a weepy finale) seems cheap and superficial. The much lauded special effects, allowing Gump to meet Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon are doubtless state-of-the-art but are used to less effect than in Woody Allen's "Zelig" and appear a little contrived. This is certainly an entertaining film but it carries no discernable message for its audience, jus' a mountain load of good ol' cotton candy.

Summary: the movie was ok!
Review: i don't think it was good enough to have won best picture, but ive dissagreed with a couple of the best picture winners this decade!the film is and will be a classic for years to come

Summary: Represents all that is wrong with Hollywood
Review: Possibly the worst in a long list of terrible oscar winners where people voted for what made them feel good - regardless of content. Presents history in a simple minded and one-sided manner and trivialises some of the key events in recent times. The so called inovative editing is a rip off from Woody Allens' far more witty "Zelig".

Summary: One of the greatest films ever made
Review: Forrest Gump is easily one of the best movies to ever have been released. The reviewer way below who says this movie is overrated is wrong. The most overrated movie of this decade was Shakespeare in Love. Forrest Gump is truly a touching and hilarious film that is wildly original. This film has virtually everything: action, adventure, comedy(definitely!), romance, drama, and even a little bit of suspense. I very highly recommend that you watch this movie if you haven't and watch Tom Hanks's other great movie Saving Private Ryan.
