Summary: As romantic a movie as I've seen in ages!
Review: I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!! It's the first truly "feel good" movie that I have seen in ages. I simply could not stop smiling for hours after I saw it (four times in the theater). I've been counting down the days for it to come out on video so I can have some instant cheer sitting on my shelf at home.

Summary: Ever After is one of the best movies ever made!!!!!
Review: I thought that this movie was an excellent spin on an old story. Usually, Cinderella is portrayed as this little waif girl who hopes someone will notice her. Someone who waits for a Man to rescue her. However in this story, Cinderella(as portrayed by Drew Barrymore), has a strong sense of self and of herself. She knows she is smart and cunning, and, unfortunately knows her stature in the rigid class system of the Middle Ages. Yet she overcomes this with grace and humility, even when she is insulted by her family.I felt that Dougray Scott did an excellent job as the Prince. His character even had to be rescued instead of the other way around. The angle with Leonardo da Vinci was rather awesome, it fared well in the frame and context in the movie. Also, the idea of libraries at the monasteries was so historically accurate. For that I was proud of Hollywood itself! This movie puts a 90s twist on the Cinderella story. This film is even suitable for children, it does not have profanity, nudity, or anything else that could be of high offense to someone. The innards of the film such as direction, production, cinemotography and the like were all solid. I recommend this film highly!!!!!

Summary: A beautiful, poignant film
Review: Ever After gives us a beautiful retelling of the "Cinderella Story" and shows us that perhaps, instead of a story about fairy godmothers and magic words, this can be a tale of love in the most unlikely of situations. It is most definitely a pleasure and a relief to see a movie that the entire family can truly enjoy. I congratulate those who made this movie. They have made moviegoing for the family something pleasurable. And if you have not watched this delightful film, you are truly missing out on one of the best movies, in my mind, ever made.

Summary: One of the best romance movies I have seen in a while.
Review: I'm not a Cinderella fan, but I LOVE Ever After!!! I think Drew Barrymore was a wonderful Cinderella. Angelica Huston was also great as the step mom. She made the step mom mean and funny at the same time!! This is a must see for anyone who loves a great romance.

Summary: A lot better than I thought it would be...
Review: I didn't really want to see Ever After at first because I thought it would be a silly, stereotypically girlie, movie. However, when my best friend dragged me, kicking and screaming, to the theatre to see it, I discovered that this Cinderella is smart, strong, and independent; not a helpless heroine. The costumes and scenery were beautiful, and the story line was much more believable and romantic than the Brother Grimms' gruesome tale. When I saw the film I had just finished reading two books dealing with the life and times of Lisa de'Gherardini (who was for many years supposed to be the Mona Lisa)and Leonardo da' Vinci, and on the painting itself. Imagine my disappointment then at introduction of Monsieur da Vinci and his Mona Lisa into the story in such an unbelievable fashion. It almost ruined the film for me and I saw it as an obvious attempt by the writers to make the tale more familiar and real by throwing in a historical character. The charm, though, of this da Vinci did, eventually, win me over. Now I wonder how the movie would have been possible without him. Drew Barrymore did an excellent job, despite her unconvincing British accent, which, by the way, I didn't understand since they were in France. I assume it was to make it sound more foreign and romantic... The Prince was Charming (ha,ha)and the stepmother was wonderful. Anyway, to finally end this, the movie was great. Go see it already!!! =)

Summary: Hollywood CAN make good, clean, wholesome movies after all!
Review: I was very pleased with how well filmmakers did with this film. From the moment it began, my attention was yanked right into it, and it gave me the feeling that I had actually traveled somewhere. Drew Barrymore did an excellent job, and I commend her for her effort. Most of all, I applaud those who made this film for making a good, clean, wholesome movie that I don't mind showing to my family.

Summary: A movie worth owning
Review: This movie, I would have to say, is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! It's artistry is magnified in the scenery, the dialog, the wit battles and the acting! It is a picture perfect tale that outdoes many other films that have tried to portray a story the way this does! It is enjoyable, magnificent, and absolute art!
