Summary: Second rate intellectual larceny
Review: This shameless (or should I say shameful) ripoff of "When Harry Met Sally" gives us all the neuroses without any of the humor of its entertaining predecessor. There was no attempt to disguise the intellectual larceny on the part of writers Andrew Lowery and Andrew Miller, right down to naming Freddie Prinze, Jr.'s character Ryan, after Meg Ryan, who in WHMS played the character after whom Ryan's character was patterned. There is further irony here since Freddie Prinze, Jr. is fast becoming the male Meg Ryan, never venturing beyond the safety of sappy romantic comedies. Unfortunately, his choice of projects has been far more jejune with narrower appeal.

If you have seen WHMS, you know the plot of this film. Boy meets girl; boy hates girl. They are thrown together periodically, and they eventually develop a friendship despite their differences. This develops into love, sex, denial, and finally resolution. They are both extremely socially challenged and neurotic. Their differences are so irreconcilable that they really belong in different movies.

This film tries to be a romantic comedy, but it is really a tragedy with a side order of hapless humor provided by Jason Biggs. Even Biggs' scenes are not very funny. The funniest scene in the film was a deleted scene they included in the credits with Biggs having a gas with some lingerie models.

Claire Forlani was excellent as Jennifer, the flaky free spirit. She was ditzy and lovable with moments of intense lucidity that kept the character from being farcical. Forlani's performance is the only thing that holds this film together. Freddie Prinze, Jr. gives his standard good-looking-nice-guy performance. He had one decent scene at the end, during the couple's confrontation overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, where he actually showed that he could act. Otherwise, it was bland performance. In Prinze's defense, Ryan was a dud and it would have been difficult to make him interesting without losing the essence of the character. Jason Biggs did the best he could with a loser of a character and weak lines. He is a much funnier performer than this film let him be.

This romantic comedy is neither romantic nor funny. I rated it a 4/10. See the original; it was both.

Summary: The sweetest romance that Freddie has done
Review: From the time this movie stated I knew that I would love it. It is very very funny, sweet, and I could really relate it to my own life. Plus the fact that I love Freddie. This was a wonderful movie.

Summary: Not great, but fun...
Review: I'm still not quite sure what to make of this (which makes Claire Forlani look gorgeous). Not as good as "She's all the That", but far superior to the ... "Down to You" this is a decent romance. All the cliches are there, but it manages to be charming to an extent. If you don't expect too much, you could end your evening with a smile as I did. I don't have review the plot here. Jason Biggs, Freddie Prinze Jr, and the amazing Forlani make the material watchable. What astounded me about this movie, and something no film reviews I read in the real world, and very few on here, are the amazing similarities to when Harry Met Sally. While there is a breakfast club/16 candles scene, I think WHMS is the inspiration here. ... However, Forlani plays Crystal and Meg Ryan (which is Prinze's name and he later dates a Megan...but I digress) is more Freddie P. We have the one night stand, the crying before hand, the awkward silence, the phone calls...etc. The meeting and hating each other before becoming friend. Biggs' character is Bruno Kirby like and forlani's roomate is a lot like Carrie Fisher. I already talked about the names...it is like a teen version of WHMS, but punched up. What can I say. Maybe I didn't like it, but I sorta did. The movie was fun and the WHMS connections fascinated me. And Claire Forlani is beguiling.

Enjoy!

Summary: A terrible mess
Review: This star vehicle, designed to showcase Freddie Printz Jr as a leading man in a major film, backfires horribly! If anything, the film shows,in this role at least,Freddie has a shallow, monotone way of delivering his lines, without any deep emotions, and zero comic timing. His performance is emnarrasing. He seems destined for teen heart-throb status(here today, gone tomorrow..or in a few years). The forced, comical scenes fall flat,as does his chemistry between Caire Forfani, who's performance is terrible,as well.Talk about horrible acting! Even,Jason Biggs, who was so funny in "American Pie",seems lost, although his scene during the final credits shows he can be funny. He deserved a better role,in a better movie. I'd like to say, this is a waste of talent, but,I cannot(Biggs excluded). As NONE of the performances in this film add up to anything. If it appeals to anybody,it will be teen-age girls.Sorry,Freddie, but you just don't have the acting chops to headline major films. Don't worry, after a few more bombs, you can get a job on a cheesey night-time soap,or something that doesn't require acting skills.

Summary: Guys and Dolls
Review: This is not a bad flick if you are after something a little teeny, but not so shallow that it makes you hit your head on the bottom of the pool... getting on a bit of a tangent there.

Well, the actors in the movie are all quite likeable, especially the main two players, as well as the ever-entertaining Jason Biggs, and a bit of a little appearance from Alyson Hannigan.

The playful, honest friendship between Ryan and Jennifer is great to watch, and there are enough funny moments to provide adequate giggles. There is a strategically choreographed, yet totally unplanned (uh-huh) dance-sequence followed by a bit of bubble action, which adds to the fun.

The ending takes it all down hill a little, but overall, it is an enjoyable film - great for people like myself, who enjoy the teenager films (although for the most part of the movie they're all in College - still teeny though of course!)

Summary: A typical but cute college romantic comedy
Review: If you like happy and predictable endings like I do, you will LOVE this movie. If you like having an exciting climax...well, you'll be dissappointed. This movie is cute, at best. Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Claire Forlani make a very good pair in this movie. Jason Biggs gives the story's humor an extra boost. If you like romantic commedies, this movie is for you.

Summary: Your New Dumb Movie!
Review: Boys And Girls is a sexy romp about two young students who, through a series of chance meetings, find themselves in a friendship that takes a romantic turn! Ryan (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Jennifer (Claire Forlani) couldn't have been more different--Jennifer being a freespirited, experimental girl and Ryan being a studious, repressed nerd. When they first meet at age 12 they hate each other. In high school they loathe each other. But in college they learn that possibly two wrongs can make a right as they champion each other through college exams, failed relationships and dirty laundry. Ryan's hilarious roomate, Hunter (Jason Biggs), is along for the ride as he tries to coerce Ryan to come out of his shell.

Summary: Not Just a Great Date Movie!
Review: This was a great movie, and a perfect completion for "She's All That" and "Down to You"(another fantastic movie). It includes truths about love that anyone who's experienced love can relate to and will delight in watching! Freddie Prinz Jr. and Claire Forliani did an excellent job...this movie is a must have!
