Summary: Cute Movie
Review: America's Sweethearts was a very good movie. It wasn't as good as I expected, but with all of the disappointments this year; it stood out the most as being good. I'm a huge Julia Roberts fan, but I thought the best part was Catherine Zeta Jones and Hank Azaria. They both stole the movie. Julia Roberts, Billy Crystal, and John Cuzack were funny, too, but the other two were hilarious. The other supporting people ( Seth Green and Stanly Tucci) were also funny. I recommend seeing this movie over [others] such as JP3. It was funny.I think PEOPLE put it best as saying it was a movie that made use for all the characters to shine, especially Cahterine Zeta Jones and Hank Azaria. Christopher Walken was also hilarious. It was funny to see him in a role where he was funny ( like the fat boy slim video. he is funny in that.)

Summary: Plenty of Amusement for All.
Review: This is a fun movie. I expected this movie to be bad, but it turned out to be quite fun. While the plot is completely given away in the previews and there are a few odd scenes, all in all America's Sweethearts manages to have a playful tone throughout with some hilarious caricatures! Catherine Zeta-Jones is beyond funny as the uppity actress with an ego from here to Timbuktu...and Hank Azaria is AMAZINGLY hilarious as her new Spanish boyfriend with the darling lisp..."I'm not inbited to da preth hunket?" Really good stuff.

Summary: IS STAR POWER ENOUGH?
Review: In an interview Julia Roberts stated that she didn't want to play the Catherine Zeta Jones role in "America's Sweethearts" beacause the Jones role was a ... But at this juncture in Roberts' career she really needed to stretch out and play the spolied, nasty, conniving role that went to Zeta-Jones. As it is she plays the nice girl once again. A part very much like those she played in "Notting Hill" or "Runaway Bride." She does fine of course but Zeta-Jones steals the picture from her with her out-there portrayal of a self-absorbed, amoral actress. John Cusack plays the "made loony by love" ex-husband of CZJ and he does it with abandon. Some critics have said that Cusack plays the role as a weakling. DUH! We first see him under the spell of a quasi-Guru played by Adam Arkin and we know and like the fact that he is a weako unable to escape from under CZJ's spell. In fact it is this spell that propels the story and gets him to the movie press junket where everyone's world collides. Billy Crystal does his pseudo-Woody Allen thing and it all jells together rather well. And yes the star power of all 4 leads makes this thing work to the max.

Summary: Saw It, Loved It, Go See It Too!
Review: I just saw it last night and I loved it. John Cusack was so funny. Billy Crystal was hilarious too. I loved Hank Azaria with the Spanish accent. Everybody should go see it. John and Julia have a lot of chemistry. This movie will make you laugh so hard. Go See It! Let's make it number 1 in the box-office.

Summary: that Roberts girl!
Review: I finally broke down yesterday and admitted it--I love Julia Roberts. I've avoided anything this woman's done in the past, (except Erin Brockavich of course) but when she's the only thing worth watching in what's basically a dud of a movie, you know the girl's got something going on behind those eyes. Even John Cusack, who I thought would do better in this, looks dumb and witless next to that Roberts girl.

Summary: Good little movie
Review: I gave it three stars, but I really would've given it 3 1/2 stars. I just reviewd Gallipoli and gave it three stars, but I enjoyed this movie much more.

First of all I went into this movie thinking it was gonna be terrible. I had orginally been excited about it months ago, but the closer it got to coming out I started to get a bad vibe about it and everyone around me seemed to be thinking it was gonna be terrible. But, I really enjoyed it! And I think I may have been in the minority a little. People certainly laughed more in the second half of the movie but in the first half, I found that I was one of the only people laughing. Maybe I'm just smarter than everyone, or liked the satire of Hollywood more than people who wanted Julia smiling for 2 hours straight. I don't know, but I thuroughly enjoyed it!

I thought Julia was good. She wasn't over the top like she was in The Mexican. She was more low-key, bright, the Julia I love. I was sooo relieved she didn't revert to her usual overdone goffiness. But then I guess her character was supposed to be more low key. And she really did look pretty funny in a fat suit. The makeup for eerily great. I could totally see her like that, if, y'know, she was a porker.

And Julia playing it down gave Catherine Zeta Jones a chance to really shine I thought. She was really good I thought. Funny. Gorgeous. Just SO that character. I was very impressed by her. I can see why Soderbergh cast her first in Traffic. I would cast her in a comedy in a sec. Especially at the end when she was in her dressing room unknowingly being filmed in Walken's movie.

Which leads me to Walken, a minor character certainly, but so good. He was just hilarious. Him playing a Kubrickesque, impossible, bizaree filmmaker was brilliant. If there's perfect casting, then THAT was perfect casting. And I thought the climax of the film with Walken's film was a REALLY good idea. I just liked the idea that a director would do something so random and so out there. I know that that idea was created to allow more funny moments at the end but the idea behind it I think was great. Just because I guess I would LOVE to do something like that in a movie someday. Y'know, work up a lot of power on and then one day (with 3 oscars under my belt) release a film that has NOTHING to do with what I'd told the studio about.

Cusak was good at being a completely self obsessed, self loathing actor. And Billy Crystal wasn't bad either. The one thing that I thought I'd find funnier, and see more of, were jokes about the "junket" they were on. The movie turned out to be more about their relationships, which was fine. Also I thought they'd travel around with the junket. But, whatever, it didn't matter.

I would tell anyone who likes a nice, diverting, romantic comedy to check this out.

Summary: Cute!
Review: I thought the movie was cute. The movie wasn't as funny as I assumed from the previews. Julie Roberts seemed to be just playing herself, as she usually does. I expected more from Billy. He wasn't his usual comedic self. Their were a few one liners but that's all. I was glad I went to see it. My friends and I talk about it in a positive light but won't rush out to get it when it goes to video.

Summary: So much fun
Review: The actors and actresses were great; the movie also had witty plot and many funny moments--I laughed throughout. This is by far the best comedy this summer. Oh, you just have got to see it! Julia Roberts RULE!

Summary: Review
Review: It's a little slow in the beginning, but after that it's hillarious. John Cusack's performance was awesome and so was Julia Roberts'. I also love how there are four main characters instead if two or one. The only romantic parts were at the end, but it was still funny throughout the whole movie.

See it, love it.

Summary: A Billy Crystal Home Run!
Review: First off, this is a GUY flick for a change. For all you guys out there worried that your wife, girlfriend, etc. was going to want you to go see this, you should. However, don't go with them. Choose 3 or 4 of your best buds and make this a guy's night out. This movie is Billy Crystal's present to all guys over the age of about 30. I haven't laughed so hard at a movie, that I can remember (except maybe Mel Brooks). I've seen just about everything that Billy has done, including "Princess Bride" and "Mr. Saturday Night" (another of his great, under-appreciated movies). The only movie that comes close to this is "When Harry Met Sally."

The jokes at Hollywood's expense are the best I've ever seen. These are the real thing folks. If you think that these actors, directors, etc. have become just a little to important, this movie is for you!

However, if you are offended by male oriented humor, or you don't like seeing the good guy win, don't see this movie. Otherwise, run, don't walk, to your local theater and be prepared to laugh!
