Summary: One of the best movies Ive seen
Review: I recomend this movie to all Jim Carey fans as well as all movie enthusiasts. A great concept for a movie, keeps your interest throughout. A must see. And at this price, you cant go wrong.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great movie!
Review: I think it's a great movie. Jim Carey can really act..

Summary: just plain boring
Review: Yeah, there were some funny parts here and there. Throughout the whole movie I kept wondering something good is going to come up soon, but boy was I wrong. The ending was the worst. It was a major let down. But don't get me wrong, Jim Carey was a great actor.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent movie with poor bonus material on DVD
Review: The Truman Show is an excellent movie that plays well on DVD. Sound and picture quality is superior. The bonus material was among the poorest I've seen on newer DVDs. Only two trailers, and that's it. Additional bonus material, such as a "Making of" or director's commentary, would make this a 5-star DVD.

Summary: Terrific!
Review: I saw this movie in the theater, then again at home with some friends, and both times I loved it. Carey did an outstanding job (I can't believe he wasn't nominated for it). The storyline is presented believably, and it really makes you think. Anyway, I recommend it to anyone!

Summary: Clean easy-to-watch film not spectactular
Review: Why all the hype? A unique film idea that doesn't come close to living up to its potential as a thought-provoking philosophical movie or as a comedy, it really never captured my imagination. I was disappointed after hearing so much about it. Carrey does a great job, but his supporting cast (as much as I love Ed Harris, he may have been a bit overdone with emotion at the end for my) doesn't quite step up to the plate with juicy parts that draw out the complexity this theme promised. Its still good entertainment, don't get me wrong, but don't believe the hype.

Summary: Great DVD, but where's all the bonus stuff?
Review: The Truman Show is very good film. Good picture, good audio, good story. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! My only gripe with the DVD is the glaring lack of bonus material on the disc. Is'nt this what we buy these things for? Well, and the sound and picture quality! Four stars out of five, could have easily been five stars with the addition of bonus material.

Summary: it was sweet
Review: i loved it it made my stomach feel better while vomiting i think it was crappy to say the least it was kind of eerie if you think about it

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Jim Carrey is now acceptable to all audiences
Review: This movie was great. I didn't expect it to be because Jim Carrey isn't the drama type. Or wasn't expected to be. He is great.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Wait for the "collectors" edition?
Review: I saw this at the show (in the theatre for you outside the midwest) and loved it - I usually dislike Jim C but here he shines cause he *under* plays his role (hard to believe huh). HOWEVER, it's been said before here - I just wanted to add my vote: except for 2 trailers there is NO additional material - this obviously was *rushed* to DVD (I'm afraid we'll be dealing with this from now on). Also the "widescreen" isn't 1.85:1 - it's just narrow black bars at the edges of the screen, and there are some obvious cut-offs (half-faces, etc). If you "must" own this get a pre-viewed VHS and save some $$$.
