Summary: Gone with the Wind-One for the ages
Review: This is, without question, the greatest movie ever made. Clark Gable is perfectly cast as Rhett Butler and Vivien Leigh is outstanding as Scarlett. Part historical epic and part soap opera, Gone with the Wind captures the essence of the Old South and the horror of the Civil War and Reconstruction. The sweep of the film is extraordinary and it truly is one of the classics

Summary: Great Movie: Lousy DVD
Review: The greatest movie ever made (OK I exaggerate, but not by much) not available in its original aspect ratio? It's a sin worse than colorization.

Summary: A real masterpiece....................
Review: This is my most favorite film of all time. Poor Scarlett that she is not married. I really like the costume design and the scenery. It takes place in Tara and Scarlett wants a suitible husband. In tape 2 it is really sad and exciting. You better run down to the store or rent one to see the Gone with the Wind.

Summary: A master piece.
Review: Number 4 on AFI's top 100 movies is a great story in Atlanta. The burning of Atlanta is wonderful.

Summary: Worth the wait after the "Special Edition" run in theaters.
Review: The restoration of this film to its original grandure was worth the wait for its transfer to DVD. I have the laser disc version which is the same presentation as the DVD (presented as it was when it was originally shown when first released). The DVD version shows obvious improvements in color, clarity and sound.

This film is, like Casablanca, one of the greatest films ever made. Although it is a long film, I'd rather sit through it instead of "Titanic" over and over again.

The script and actors characterizations are priceless on film. This is definately a must for anyone's DVD collection!

Summary: Gone With the Wind WAS WideScreened
Review: In the 1960s, Gone With the Wind was "transfered" to wide screen by chopping and distorting the picture's composition. For many years, this was the version shown theatrically. I was disappointed that the credits at the start of the film were off center and partially cropped on the new DVD release.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I remember sitting in the balcony at the Roosevelt Theater in Kenosha Wisconsin watching this movie for five and one half hours!! It was the greatest movie I've ever seen on the big screen! It has to be seen on the big screen to appreciate the photography!

Summary: BORING
Review: I can't understand why everyone is so nuts about this movie. I fell asleep before Tape 2! That movie must have been good for its day, but not here. An overall bust.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Wonderful adaptation
Review: Margaret Mitchell done proud. The adaptation leaves out some of the essential characterization of Mitchell's book, but the film is marvelous, none the less.
