Review: Yes, it can be very corny at times and sure, it can benefit from being a little more subtle in its anti-Nazi propaganda (gee, even Shindler's List was more subtle about it), but what makes The Sound of Music so great is pure and simple - its heart. It is endearing and captivating, thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end. The songs stick to your mind like glue and you not only end up humming them after the movie, but possibly for the rest of your life! The characters are bright and likeable and Julie Andrews is wonderful as Maria. A must-see for all ages!

Review: I was brought up listening to The Sound of Music soundtrack and watching the movie - it is very moving for me...I wanted to introduce my children to it, but feared they would find it "corny!" NOT SO!! They (ages 5 and 9) both said it was the best movie they have ever seen - they spend their days acting it out and they know every single word to every single song. This movie will live forever!

Review: This is the best musical ever made! I think I've watched it over a hundred times and I can't seem to get tired of it! Julie Andrews is simply fantastic! With her soft and yet strong voice, she'll have you smiling every song sung, and you too will want to sing along with her! This is surely something that can't be missed! It's a beautiful story, full of joy and, of course, music! Not to mention the cinematography, which is magnificent! It's total fun and entertainment for the entire family, a drop-dead-wonderful movie that everyone must see!! Let's put it this way: if you don't have it, buy it now! You won't regret it!!

Review: this was a great movie I SAW IT TODAY AND LOVED IT! I came right on Amazon and reviewed it. Even though I'm only 8 I'm doing a great big review on it. I think alot of oter kids shoud see this movie because Its a great movie for youngsters. This movie is great for kids as well as grown ups.Now Julie Andrews is one of my most favorite people. The End.
