Rating: Summary: A fantastic short story! Review: We read this wonderful short story in English class. Automatically, I assumed that it would be dull and not worth reading. It turned out to be the best short story I have ever read. The plot is so unrealistic, and yet it could nearly happen. Our teacher has been having his class read this story for nearly twenty years! Now I know why.
Rating: Summary: DEADLY CAT&MOUSE THRILLER Review: Without question, "The Most Dangerous Game" is one of Hollywood's most underrated gems, a masterpiece of suspense that holds up against any of today's thrillers. Based on a short story by Richard Connell, "The Most Dangerous Game" is about a depraved hunter named Zaroff who has exhausted all the challenging prey on Earth--except one. When fellow hunter Rainsford falls into the shipwrecking trap Zaroff has set off his remote island's shore, the two men square off in a deadly game of predator and prey that only one will survive--and to the victor go the spoils: the lovely Fay Wray, victim of an earlier shipwreck and unwilling object of the demonic Zaroff's affections. The cast is marvellous: Leslie Banks plays Zaroff with obvious diabolic relish and Joel McCrea is right at home in this kind of action flick. Needless to say, any man would want to fight for Fay Wray. A brilliant, breathless movie that doesn't relax its death-grip til the unflinching end, "The Most Dangerous Game" is a classy, scary thriller like they don't make 'em anymore.
