Summary: Excellent!
Review: With the exception of perhaps Pasolini's "The Gospel According to St. Matthew", "The Miracle Maker" is the most faithful adaptation of the Gospels that I have ever seen on film. And the stop animation (almost a forgotten art in this digital age) featured in the film is very impressive. A great film for people of all ages!

Summary: shockingly good
Review: I was floored with how good this video was! I saw it at the library and my first thought was it was denigrating to put such a spiritual theme into a claymation form of presentation. But then I thought, "What the heck, the kids might get something out of it and maybe it will keep their attention." Since I could check it out with my library card, it wouldn't cost anything to try. But when we got home and started to watch it, I was stunned. It was emotionally moving, spiritually uplifting, scripturally accurate (as others have pointed out, and I agree; moreso than other cinematic depictions I have seen), AND it was incredibly insightful. There were scenes portrayed that I have read many times, but upon seeing them in this movie for the first time gave me a new (and possibly more accurate) way of looking at events in His life. I just looked at my wife and said, "Who would have ever thought this could be SO good?" I'm buying it tonight. And to every person in the world who takes Christ seriously, I say God has, in my opinion, worked another Miracle of sorts through those people who produced this film. (Whether they know it or not.) Buy it for your personal library. Buy copies for your friends. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: The story of Jesus the way it should be told!
Review: THe miracle maker is an awesome telling of Jesus' life here on earth. Forget the editorial reviews description of Jesus as brooding (I don't think they watched the movie) Jesus is portrayed by Ralph Fiennes the way he lived. He was joyful in the message he had to share! THis film gets that. It also shows how human Jesus was, how he struggled with the same things we struggle with. THat was the whole point of God sending him here and this film really captures it. My son & husband also loved it. It is more biblically accurate than any other telling of Jesus life I have ever seen including The Greatest Story Ever Told.

Summary: Best Video Depiction Yet
Review: Love this movie -- I sent copies to some friends (Christian and non-Christian). Still, it seems hard to convince anyone to watch a movie about so profound a subject in claymation. It does not disappoint, and illuminates a lot of the political and social turmoil surrounding the time of his appearance very well. Very human, loving, and appropriate depiction, to my understanding.

Summary: Great video for all ages
Review: When I saw this movie on tv last year, I decided that it would
be part of my collection when it came out. It is a refreshingly
scriptural story of Jesus. It is also quite realistic. I
would recommend this video for anyone interested in seeing
something that goes along with the real story.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: This is a wonderful representation of the life of Jesus. It is beautifully done- I highly recommend it. It is a perfect family movie-not too childish (note to anyone looking for something a bit more in depth than the Beginners' Bible animated movies)so it held my attention and still easy enough to follow for the under seven group. The combination of claymation and animation is very appealing.

Summary: Fantastic and Biblically Accurate
Review: I wish I could give this film 10 stars! Watching it for the first time on television last year, I was very moved, and I feel it is the best film about Jesus that has ever been done. The use of 3-D and 2-D animation was very creative. The 2-D animation was used for flashbacks or when Jesus was telling stories (such as the parables) which gave a realness to the 3-D characters. Also, the 3-D characters were less distracting than live actors which put more emphasis on the story and its message.

Based on the book of Luke, it is Biblically accurate. The only error I could see, and very minor, was when during the Parable of the Good Samaritan and one of the people who walked was said to be Sadducee. I suppose the writer thought that would more interesting. Of course one always wishes they could have every scene, but realistically the film producers could not include everything and were restricted to 90 min. I do wish they had been able to include Jesus calming the storm, but I am happy at what the writer COULD include like the Road to Emmaus (not included in any other film I've ever seen). I understand that the writer is a Christian, which shows, by the emphasis on the Resurrection and mention of the Holy Spirit(at Christ's baptism and Accension). The writer did use parts from the other Gospels as well to complement Luke.

The story is masterfully done and I like how the characters are developed, especially Mary Magdalene and Tamar (they gave her a name), the Leader of the Synogogue's 12 year old daughter who was raised from the dead. It was neat how they followed the story from a child's eye view and the character of Tamar was a thread that helped bring the story together. Another theme that was throughout the story which I really liked, was the idea of Jesus being the Doorway into Life.

The DVD has some neat features including a documentary about how the film was made. They show the little dolls, models, that were made by Russian animators. I think many of us would like to have the Jesus one! I also liked how the menu has Christian symbols on it, and the cursor that you use to select special features is in the shape of a cross. Very creative.

I think this film has had a very significant spiritual impact on many people and it was definitely inspired! The soundtrack is also fantastic (very moving) and really adds to the movie. Lastly, the best thing about this film is that it makes you want to go read the Bible!! :-)

Summary: An amazing piece of work!
Review: Look out Disney and DreamWorks... there's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Family Home Entertainment!

From start to finish, you'll be amazed at the attention to detail in this 3D animation - not to mention the great story! When I first viewed the film on ABC-TV last year, I thought it was a claymation project similar to Wallace & Gromit. Well, I was wrong. Christmas Films of Russia, in association with BBC CYMRU/WALES, made this work possible using miniturized models. The "Making of" section on the disk is pretty amazing stuff. This is where you find out how the animators did their magic. Even after watching the "Making of", I'm still left scratching my head wondering how they pulled it off with such grandeur! If my memory serves me well, the film took some 5-years to complete. Wow!

Definitely go and buy yourself a copy. If you have kids, grand-kids, nieces, nephews, or whatever, it would be a crying shame to let this jewel pass them by.

Summary: Brilliant and inspiring
Review: I first saw this puppet animation technique in a BBC production called 'Ruth' from the 'TESTAMENT' series, and was very impressed with the overall quality.
'The Miracle Maker' is no Hollywood production, but in fact was made in Russia. They have surpassed themselves in using this very difficult medium to tell the life of Jesus. I was particularly impressed with the sets they made of Palestine in the first century A.D., to me, it was more real than real! Other reviewers have given it 5 stars, and I agree, it should be an essential video or DVD to have in a Christian home. May this production be a blessing to all who view it.

Summary: The Greatest Story Ever Told
Review: This wonderful animated story captured my heart and attention in a way many live actor movies have not. Inspired, uplifting, and penetrating, The Miracle Maker brings the love of God to light in a way that will equally touch both adults and children. You won't be disappointed!
