Summary: ACTING AT THE GREATEST LEVEL
Review: This is acting at its best, and does not get much better than this ! PAcino, Lemmon, Spacey, Harris and even Baldwin in his brie appearance are outstanding here, extracting the best from the actors in a situation that makes you feel sorry for being a salesman !!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great script and outstanding cast
Review: I was initially interested in this film because it featured Al Pacino. His performance, as the most successful of the group of real estate agents, is assured and confident. The other cast members help make this adaptation of David Mamet's play into a classic film, one which almost equals Goodfellas in its quotability. Alec Baldwin's short but memorable scene as the firm's troubleshooter, sent to the agents' office to motivate/threaten the failing salesmen (minus the absent Pacino), is a career highpoint for the actor. Jack Lemmon is outstanding as over-the-hill and desperate Shelly Levine. Kevin Spacey gives evidence of his star quality in a minor role. The strong language is another feature that invites comparisons with Goodfellas. This is a film that I never tire of - everything about it is quality.

Summary: BEST PRODUCTION PIECE FROM STAGE TO FILM
Review: This is one of the most enduring all-star performances from a seasoned cast of veterans of the big screen.

Pacino as Roma, truly ignites the screen with the riveting dialogue amongst the other cast members.

Summary: fabulous ensemble acting
Review: The Alec Baldwin scene alone is worth owning this movie for. Terrific acting by Pacino,Lemon,Harris,Arkin and Spacey. The screenplay sizzles. But in my opinion the 7 minute "motivational" speech by Baldwin steals the show. I bought it..."go and do likewise".

Summary: JACK LEMMON'S BEST PERFORMANCE
Review: Jack Lemmon has given many, many brilliant performance, but his subtle work in "Glengarry Glen Ross" is his best. He is sad, touching, loveable, frightened, desperate, and tragic. He is the centerpeice of a film that would have worked on the strength of the scriipt alone. Despite the fact that it consists only of real estate workers sitting and talking shop, the film is thrilling and easy enough to understand on an emotional level. It's my favorite movie from a Mammet script, partly because he leaves the gimicks alone and allows the actors to develop interesting and unique characters rather than to just say the words for the sake of the audience hearing them.

It's a great film and worth getting just to see Jack Lemmon. That's all the motivation that anyone should need.

Summary: Best Salesman movie of all time...with a song!
Review: Some of the best individual performances ever seen. How did they get so many great actors in one movie? I must have seen it 20 times... I think I'm obsessed with this movie. Do you know what it takes to sell Real Estate?

Summary: ALWAYS BE CLOSING!!
Review: This movie is by far the greatest movie about sales that the silver screen has ever produced. An updated version of "Death of Salesman," Glengarry Glen Ross brings us face to face with the fear and desparation associated with sales and sports the finest collection of actors ever assembled in one movie.

Alec Baldwin's performance has become legendary and although Al Pacino and Jack Lemon get top billing, the talents of Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey and Alan Arkin create characters that leap off the screen.

Summary: No chases...just exceptional acting from an all-star cast
Review: If you're looking for a smart, sharp dialogue-filled extravaganza, look no further. This film is brilliant, it's just that simple. Alec Baldwin, Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, and Alan Arkin, with that cast, how can you go wrong? The majority of this film takes place in and around a real-estate office. Yet the script and dialogue are so spectacular, that you really won't notice. Without giving the film away, it just shows the depths that some will stoop, to save their job, and the depths that companies will stoop to motivate their employees. One caution, this film has extremely harsh language. If you're easily offended by 'foul' language, you might need to pass. There is 'foul' language a plenty in this film, but if you can get through it, you'll really witness something special in film.

Summary: It's About Acting
Review: Once every five or ten years you see a great movie on TV that you didn't even know was in the theaters. This is one of them. If you liked Patterns and Executive Suite you'll like this movie. If you're looking for Die Hard or The Maltese Falcon move on.

Summary: WHINEY OLD MEN...
Review: I feel like I was the one who was scammed! This movie is about whiney old men...and each one says the "F" word more often than the one before him. "Death of a Salesman" it is NOT! More like "Death of Some More Time"
