Summary: one of the best Sequels in the world, and movie.
Review: Part 1 of the Godfather is probably the best one. It won 3 academy awards including Best picture , and Francis ford coppala's first movie... not bad. The movie was one of the best of the sequel.

Part 2 of Godfather is just as good as the first one. This one won 6 academy awards including Best Picture. The scenes with Al Pacin oare alittle boring but the scenes with Robert De Niro are the best. Robert De Niro at his best.

Part 3 of Godfather is almost as good as the other two. It was nominated for 7 academy awards, but did not win one. It was more of a gang war. The ending is sad. And a little weird, when Al's daughter dies.

Summary: The pinicle of film making
Review: The Godfather Triliogy is as good as it gets in cinema today. Although the Godfather Part 3 was just made to capitalize on the fame the first two films garnered, it still is not a horrible picture; however, it isn't the same quality of picture as the other two. The Godfather tells the story of the Corleone family and the difference between mafia business and personal feelings. Al Pacino is by far one of the greatest actors of all time, and this movie franchise allows you to see the growth that he made as an actor as well as the progression of his character Michael Corleone when he takes over the family "business." I would recommended this film to any and everyone who loves a story that gets you emotionally envolved as well as looks at the mafia when they were in their prime.

Summary: The Godfather Collection
Review: I don't think that I could think of a better movie to review. Al Pacino. The best gangster the world has every seen on T.V. Al Pacino plays Micheal Corleone, the proven to be extremely ruthless, yet very smart gangster. Watching the movie you don't notice just how ruthless he is, until you see the seen at the New Years party (part 2) and he is dancing with Fredo, and he kisses him on the lips, and he says " I know it was you Fredo, you broke my heart. You broke my heart" Then you know that is the kiss of death, and you know what Micheal Corleone is about to do to his own brother Fredo. It's hard to pick which one was the best. In the first one James Caan takes on the Roll of Sunny Corleone, how has a very hot temper. Well, it's a good and a bad thing that he got killed. The bad part is that he played his roll to well, the good part is he wasn't as smart as Micheal was. Sonny would not have lived to be as old as Micheal did. In the third one Andy Garcia plays Sunny's son. Same hot firey temper. And the worse thing about the movie is you see Micheal trying to make everthing right, but it ends up getting every women he every loved to either leave him or get killed. It seems like yes! The family will live on with Andy Garcia as the New Don. But in the last minute of the film you'll know why Andy Garcia will not live very long as the new Don. Plus he will have to go down the same road Micheal did, if he does live long. People try to say the Third one is weak, but it's very needed to show you how the story ends. Plus the last minute when he's danceing with all the women in his life, make me love the story more

Summary: Can We Get the First One by Itself? Yes We Can!
Review: First picture, really great. Five stars all the way. Couldn't be better. Second picture, several cuts below, three stars. Lots of talk and for the finale, seemingly endless shots of Al Pacino brooding. Third picture, bow-wowsville. A dog. One star. 5+3+1 equals 9, divided by 3 makes for three stars. Is there any way to get the first picture only? Until there is, I'll stay with the VHS w/s version I have. P.S. on 5/17/04: Godfather One is out by itself. It's a 5-star special. Great transfer, great picture. Get it!

Summary: A MUST for "Godfather" Buffs
Review: Containing all three movies on four discs with a full disc of extra material, "The Godfather DVD Collection" is a must have for fans of Francis Ford Coppola's epic trilogy. The movies are all there in the original versions (rather than having the scenes arranged chronologically, which the most recent VHS collection attempted to do). On the bonus disc, among the many great extras is a generous helping of scenes that weree cut, over an hour's worth. Some of them were understandably left out, but others provide even more insight into the motivations of the characters. Some characters that were cut out altogether, like Tom Hagen's wife, Theresa, make their first public appearances now thirty years after the first film's release.

For all of its minor flaws, the Godfather trilogy represents a truly amazing bit of filmmaking, namely nine hours of incredible imagary, acting and storytelling all taken from a pop novel that is not in any way, shape or form considered to be great literature. The DVD format gives the movies their full due.

Overall, this collection has become THE one to own for Godfather fans.

Summary: Godfather Deluxe
Review: For the past two years I have rated the Godfather Trilogy as my number one choice of my top 50 movies.

Among other things, it was satisfying to remove the 6-tape VHS version from my shelf and replace it with the slimline DVD set.

We watched each movie through, and then within a couple of days watched each one again with Coppola's commentary. A totally enriching experience. Also enjoyed the deleted scenes and the family tree extra. Was nice to find out when Michael was born and died.

What makes this series enduring is that we see the good and the bad in each person. Sort of like seeing King David with all his good and bad traits in the Old Testament. Makes him believable, a real human being.

I loved the baptism/elimination sequence in Godfather I. Shows hypocrisy and/or denial: how people live double lives. Also liked the revenge scenes in Godfather II: Very cathartic.
