Summary: Let's hope its newgen Sulamericano filmmaking! We need it...
Review: Estacao Central only did 3 shows in Denmark during intl filmfestival - much to our disaapointment - interest here is too low for quality films with other thematic content that violencia, crime and pornographia. Also we hope that this film waves the emergence of new socially conscient and critical filmmaking in Brasil - which has for too long emphasized low budget TV novellas! A culture as rich as that of .com.br should have quality film industria. Also a wonderfull voyage through nordeste countryside - a memory teaser for everyone who lost their coracao in Brasil. My mother, reverend in the protestant danish church now uses it for educational purposes in her communion classes ... see it, you shall not regret! Also see films like: O que que isso companheiro? and Terra Estrangeira.

Review: Central Station is one of the greatest movies I heve ever seen. It's sensible, extremly well done, Fernanda Montenegro has undoubtely had the greatest performance of the year. Despite that, once again the Academy Awards decided do give the Oscar to the movie whose productors spent more money (a silly movie called "Life is Beautiful"...).

Summary: Best Foreign Film of 1999
Review: It is hard to put into words what one feels while watching this extraordinary motion picture. It was as beautiful as a Piccaso, as moving as Avi Maria, as simple as the waves splashing on the shores...it is a movie that touches the very base of your soul, bringing to the surface our most human of emotions as love and sadness, happiness and sorrow. The entire movie was a masterpiece. A DEFINATE MUST SEE!!

Review: The first time I watched this film I didn't think this is so great, but after watching twice more I began to feel what's it really like. As a student who majors in portuguese in Korea this film is great enough to touch me.

Summary: A precious work of moviemaking architecture
Review: I've watched the movie twice and can't wait to watch it for the third time. It's unbelievable how Salles (and Montenegro) were able to shift back and forth between hard-edged cruelty and enlightening poetry in such a graceful and unexpected way. It arouses surprising reactions in the spectator, as a work-of-art should. It is wonderful to discover the little-known Brazillian inlands, and how they unfold to new depths, which may as well reveal to be the spectator's own.

Summary: A pretty bad movie
Review: I didn't like it at all. I was specting to watch a great movie. What a deception. Even though I am a brazilian, I have to consider that LA VITA E BELLA is much much better.

Summary: Cristiano A. Lopes: A little piece of art that must be seen
Review: Unfortunately, we didn't win the Oscar. The film is much better then "Life is Beautiful", but it's not as comercial as the italian one. Yes, I agree, it's a little bit comercial, I know, but in spite of this, it's a beautiful history, with great actors, with the uncredible Fernanda Montenegro, and the great director Walter Salles. In reasume, a little piece of art that must be seen by everyone.
