Rating: Summary: One who watched this happen Review: This is an ugly chapter of American history that has waited 30 years to be told, and one I watched unfold at the time. Our political leaders, Kennedy and Johnson, sent our young kids off to fight an unpopular war with one hand tied behind their back.
Mostly young draftees, they did their best. These weren't blood soaked mercenaries; they were our neighbors, schoolmates, husbands, cousins, brothers, sons, and fathers. And we owe these patriots for their sacrifice.
What's truly despicable is that a few celebrities and one Naval Officer worked with the North Vietnamese, our enemies, to undermine our troops and advance their own careers. Instead of coming home to a grateful nation, our soldiers were vilified and spat upon, assumed guilty of atrocities and war crimes they didn't commit. Even after all this time, extreme efforts have been (and are being) made to suppress the telling of this story and discredit those who dared speak out. This documentary, as of this posting, STILL has not been shown on prime time media news.
Buy this video, watch it closely, and witness the truth. Then, when you're done, donate this to a library. It's a story of deceit and betrayal that needs to be more widely known. (Plus a whiff of treason, apparently granted a pardon during the Carter administration. Google "Kerry" and "discharge.")
Help spread the truth. We owe this not just to the 50,000 on the wall and their families, but to every American who has ever served our nation.
