Review: All the other so called gunfights do not hold a candle to Elfego Baca's gunfight at Frisco (Reserve) New Mexico in 1884, He held off 80 cowboys trying to kill him for 36 hours, there were 4000 b
bullets shot at him, he killed 4 and wounded 8 in the battle.He survived and was tried for murder 2 times, was aquitted 2 times.He later became a lawyer,county clerk, sup,t,of schools, mayor,dist atty,,and sheriff of Socorro County New Mexico.He was a canditate for U>S> congress and Governor of New Mexico.
He was not a myth,he died peacfully in his sleep at the age of 80 in 1945.For more information contact The Elfego Baca Project Reserve New Mexico a non profit organization. They are going to build a statue, museum, and the jacal (mud house) where the battle actually occured for the public.
