Review: I remember how much Maya Lin's design for the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial was denounced and even ridiculed after it was selected. However, as this documentary produced for the 15th anniversary of the unveiling of the wall proves, the monument has proven to have an extraordinary impact on war veterans and civilians alike. In addition to recording the experience of those visitors to the wall, "The Wall That Heals" also includes interviews with President George Bush, Senator Bob Dole, Clinton advisor James Carville, protest singer Country Joe McDonald and many others. This DVD barely scratches the surface of the emotional impact the wall has had on so many people and while it is no substitute for actually visiting the Vietnam Memorial, it does give you an idea of how important it has become for many Americans.
