Summary: Old Movie Trailers Passed Off As Documentary
Review: HOLLYWOOD MUSICALS OF THE 50S attempts to mislead purchasers by presenting itself as a documentary. It is nothing of the kind: it is a collection of movie trailers held together by spurious commentary.

Like most film fans, I enjoy seeing film trailers--but I resent the manufacturer's attempt to mislead the purchaser re this disk's content. Moreover, the trailers have not been restored, the transfer is bad, and the commentary not only gets in the way of the trailers, it offers absolutely nothing of interest in and of itself. Avoid this psuedo-documentary at all costs.

Summary: Total Waste of Money
Review: I'm so sorry that I paid about $15 for this DVD at a local store. It's not even worth 50 cents. Not only the video & sound qualities are terrible, the whole thing is just a cheap rip-off attempt. Just as the other viewer says, this DVD takes faded trailers and recut them into a documentary. Much worse (and extremely annoying) is the so-called part 2 of this DVD which has a totally false and misleading title "most memorable dance scenes". That was the main reason for me to buy this DVD. I can't describe how frustrated & disappointed I was when I got to that part 2. Each so-called dance scene lasted less than 15 seconds, some lasted about 2 seconds (and I'm not exaggerating, either). My advice is, don't even waste $1 on this piece of garbage.

Summary: A disappointment
Review: This DVD takes faded trailers from major motion pictures and attempts to recut them into a documentary. The end result is underwhelming. The "interviews" provided are minimal to the extreme.

Summary: Better than nothing
Review: This is the real true story of what we sentimentally call haertstoping moments of our childhood. True and sad story of what once we ued to be. And goo inicator for other labels to fulfill the emptines about musicals for beginers.

Summary: Easter Parade
Review: This movie in today's world becomes somewhat of a fantasy and as such, takes viewers out of the horrors that surround us, and for a short time recalls happiness and decency. What else can one say.
