Summary: Time-lapsed nature photography is wonderful
Review: I have purchased several nature DVDs and this ranks as one of the best in quality of sound and visual production.

If you enjoy time-lapsed photography and its artistic effects on water and sky in particular, you will enjoy this.

I could have done without the narrative although it was minimal and only at the beginning of each section. The new-age music was appropriate and well done.

Summary: Awful video quality
Review: I purchased this DVD because of the beautiful imagery on the package and the high price. I assumed the price was high because the video quality would be the absolute best out there. Unfortunately the video quality is just awful. I don't know how they can call it a DVD when I think VHS looks better. The images boil with compression so you can't see the crispness of the stars and the time-lapse photography detail. There is so much noise in some scenes that it made me feel sick with regret. I also ordered 2010 with this dvd which had just amazing detail, and it was made in 1984! I don't understand why they decided The Art of Nature should be such a hodge-podge deal. Other than that the narration and the music and the scene selections were absolutely perfect.

Summary: Good, but narration is bad.
Review: I would recommend this. Even though some people probably think that narration to a movie makes it more serene, Michael Gettel's music is serene enough. The beautiful photography of nature makes this a wonderful pick for those who want something to make them relax.

Summary: Natural Vacations
Review: If you love time-lapse photography, this is a beautiful journey to take. The music is wonderful too! Very relaxing! You might also like a more 'natural' experience. Take a 'virtual vacation' with "Hawaiian Dreams." Unlike,"The Art of Nature," it captures it with the natural sights and sounds of the sea without music or fast editing. Whatever your mood, musical or natural, either of these DVDs will soothe you!

Summary: Play it with your own CD soundtrack!
Review: Some beautiful nature shots ruined by overuse of time lapse photography. Waterfalls and streams are ruined by speeding them up to frenetic pace. Also the narration and soundtrack is horrible but that is easily fixed by playing your own CD's as a background.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: The Art of Nature is a great DVD and I would definitely recommend buying it. The only not-so-great part is the narration. I think it would be better if it was only music and pictures.
