Summary: Funny, mesmorizing, even touching
Review: This movie is astounding. The fans that are featured are quirky, real, and in some weird way, engaging, and the stories told by the stars and other folks associated with the show are priceless! Here are some standouts: A Texas woman is apparently overwhelmed with admiration for Brent Spiner (Data) and refers to herself as a "Spiner-Femme" - you have to see her collection of Spiner photographs to believe it. James Doohan (Scotty) tells a touching story about how he helps a distraught and suicidal fan on the path to recovery. A trek-uniformed dentist and similarly clad assistants have decked out their office to look like the set of Deep Space 9, complete with a "transporter". A quirky 15 year old kid has written a Star Trek movie for his local fan club - this prodigy has also rendered digital special effects to go along with his script!

A truly entertaining movie.

Summary: Funny!
Review: TREKKIES shows Trekkie fans in all their bizarre weirdness. A hillarious look at some truely strange people. I'd say that some of the Trekkies are sick, but they're just too funny. I guess some people will do ANYTHING to get in the movies. Anyway, I laughed so hard my sides hurt.

Review: I just hope that Amazon will change the policy and give us the ability to give zero stars....

This movie is so bad, that I'm happy Amazon have a return policy....and don't worry-I'll pay for the shipping, just get it outta here!

I think the movie shows the weirdness of trekkies instead of focusing on what Star Trek is all about.

Instead of trying to explain their "weirdness"-it's mocking them.

Iam only a FAN. I have all the episodes, and I build models. I like the philosophy behind it, and I don't miss an episode, but I don't want that one in my collection.

The cover says it the best thing since "go see American Pie" instead!

Boring, disappointing, stupid, a must-NOT-buy.

Summary: An excellent mix of humor, history and ST culture
Review: Brilliantly edited documentary of the Star Trek phenomenon. Being a Star Trek fan helps the viewer understand some of the more discrete "inside" jokes, but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. The editor(s) has done a superb job of mixing the stories and interviews so the viewer transistions between laughing, slapping their foreheads in disbelief, and the occasional stark realization of just how influential Start Trek is in our culture.

Summary: The movie is good, but the soundtrack ROCKS
Review: Where can I buy this soundtrack? Jimmie Wood, JJ Holiday and Billy Sullivan are my new jammin' toons... I had to record from the DVD. Where can I see these guys LIVE?

Summary: We're all Trekkies on this bus...
Review: I was skeptical when my wife brought this video home to watch but the wonderful spirit of this movie caught me almost immediately...the interview techniques are great...they quickly move from one well-known Star Trek actor to another...each answering the same question but with a different twist...these are interspersed with the Trekkies (or Trekkers) comments too...there is an explanation of the difference between "Trekkies" and "Trekkers" that shows without comment how many different aspects there are to this "scene." The movie is lighthearted but still respectful of the impact that Star Trek has had on many lives...including even Whoopi Goldberg's...the Star Trek actors themselves tell their own anecdotes about the Trekkie phenomenon...James Doohan (Scottie) actually brought tears to my eyes with his story...To top it all off, they show 3 different comics doing Star Trek jokes while the credits are rolling...This is a movie for everyone...Trekkie or Trekker!

Summary: From One of the Stars
Review: I may be biased as a member of the cast of hundreds, but Trekkies is one of the most entertaining glimpses into the lives of Trekkies I have ever seen. In fact it is the only glimpse I have ever seeen. As an avid Star Trek fan, who was born and raised on all forms of Trek, I would recomend this film to anyone who loves the genre, or who just loves to make fun of the genre. Look for me as the Klingon singing along, and enjoy this hilarious look into the lives of fans and those fascinated by the fans of Star Trek.

Summary: Side-splitting laughter from beginning to end
Review: Whether you're a casual or hardcore fan of all things Trek, this film couldn't be more enjoyable. Throughout it, you catch yourself either laughing at the pure zaniness of these real-life "trekkies" or laughing with them. Believe me when I say that some of these folks are OUT THERE! It's rewatchable to the nth degree and is always fun when a group of people pop in for a visit - even non scifi guests get a kick out of it. Of all the movies I saw in 1999, Trekkies has a proud spot at the top of the list (and I'm casual fan at best).

Summary: An Awesome Documentary
Review: This film is one of the best films of 1999! It is better than Star Trek Insurrection and Star Wars Episode One combined! Also this film will put the Star Wars fans to shame.
