Summary: Being the first of a series, this was less gruesome.
Review: The footage borders on too old, and i feel too much time was spent on autopsies. if i wanted to watch an autopsy, i would turn on the learning channel. I would recommend f.o.d. 3or4, or the best of, if want to truly increase your heart rate.

Review: The entire F.O.D. series can be disturbing to some, and facinating to others. Many people think that the deaths in these movies are fake, but they are not. The Faces of Death series is a 100% real documentary that shows the horror of acual death. If you have a teen or you yourself think that violence is cool and actions do not have consequences, watch these movies with a big bowl next to your seat.

Summary: These faces of death wear a smirk...
Review: The Faces of Death series is by and large a HOAX. Now, Don't let the fact that most of these seemingly "real" caught-on-tape mishaps, suicides, satanic necro-cannibal orgies, executions, and the like are totally rigged. The 4+ original volumes in the Faces of Death series are very tame by todays standards in MONDO cinema, but the F.O.D. series is certainly the most original and (dare I say) fun! If you're looking for real carnage and blood I suggest that you try 'Death Scenes 1 & 2', the unrelated 'Many Faces of Death vol. 1-9', 'Traces of Death 1 & 2', 'Des Morts', or the under new direction 'Faces of Death 6'. The orginal Faces of Death as included in this boxset are time-capsules from the great Mondo wars of the early 70's through the mid 80's, and the staged (really, do you think that a skydiver could ever be as unlucky as to freefall due to a faulty parachute into the holding tanks at a place so aptly titled "Gatorama", and have the Karmic Konsumerism(TM)working so against your favor that this whole incident gets caught on film from several different angles?)pieces are grusome and stupid, but they are incredibly fun. Yes, every so often you'll get what you've come for... you'll see mangled bodies from train wrecks, car crashes, and the like... but Faces of Death is about so much more. Trash!

Summary: disturbing, graphic, but still an all true harsh reality
Review: I was moved, sickend, disguste by these films. I am a combat vet and nothing Hollywood could produce could come close to the some of the horror I saw, and I have a good friend who never understood what all veterans of war go through. Some how thinking we found killing an easy thing to deal with, that was until I showed him an old copy of one of these shocking films. His teenage son was getting involved with gangs and thought that killing was cool, and hip. 20 min. into the show he needeed a bucket. So something so revolting can have its positive attributes.

Review: A documentary to end all documentaries, this film shows people what death is really like. If you want realism and a dose of the cruel reality that is life this film is for you.

Summary: Real horror stories beyond your wildest dreams
Review: This is the most upseting and amazing video I have ever witnessed. The stories of what goes on behind our backs at executions, electricutions, and some of the most discusting rituals around the globe. A must see if tou are looking for the gorriest most stomach turning video footage availible. You'll never look at "Curious George' the same way again.

Summary: why do people watch movies when they know they are offending
Review: 'Faces of Death' is a half decent film showing the gruesome deaths of numerous people. The movie is almost ruined by the awful narration, which is even worse than a bad horror flick. Nonetheless, it is worth the watch if you are curious about seeing people killed.

Review: Well first off note that this mondo style film never bored me. It had just enough action packed into the 105 minutes to keep me watching. If you took away the death scenes and just listened to the commentary, you would take alot out of exactly what the movie was trying to get across. Most people judge this film too harshly. I will warn you, if you are weak at heart do NOT WATCH THIS FILM, but anybody else who has a free night and wants to watch special effects at there near greatest, check this movie out. Although not 100% real, this is still worth watching. I think that a group of film students wanted to make a scary movie and didnt want to include a plot so they made this. All over, 3 out of 5.
