Summary: Modern life in Palestine?
Review: The movie presents the modern history of Palestine from the point of view of the Palestinians. As is typical of TV documentaries, the content gets watered down quite a bit. It is possible to tell that much of the growth of Israel has been at the Palestinians espense. It is also possible to tell why the US, that supports Israel, is so hated by some Arabs.

Having seen the video, I thought the editorial review by McNamara was slanted somewhat for no obvious reason. I'd like to know more about what got "omitted".

A lot of the video footage is not well linked with what is being said in the narration. I couldn't tell what I was looking at much of the time.

Summary: There's usually two sides to every story...
Review: This film is an excellent introduction to the history of the Palestine Israeli struggle. It is the historical information that most United States citizens are unfamiliar with that ultimately determines where justice lies (just as it did in South Africa and in the American south) and makes the current situation so obviously fascist. This must stand as basic essential information and arguments over details can only be secondary. This should be shown in every high school in America. Bush's rhetoric about honoring UN resolutions is also shown to be just so much more deceit from the US leadership...

Summary: Why do Palestinians kill their children for news stories?
Review: This film is obviously devoid of truth, whoever made it did not even have the courage to put their names on it as a director or producer. Yes there is a tragedy in the Holy Land, but it was cultivated by Palestinian terrorists and their dictator Yasser Arafat who organized and mobilized Palestinians to go to the Temple Mount. Schools were closed in anticipation of Ariel Sharon's visit to Judaism's most holy site in 2000. Arafat had planned this war against Israel's civilians before he rejected a peace plan in the summer of 2000 at Camp David. The following terrorist attacks over the past four years have only caused the Palestinians more pain and they have only themselves to blame.

They often blame the Jewish people as seen in this film, but your own conscience forces you to go with your instinct which is they are guilty. Guilty for brainwashing kids and using them as pawns in their war, guilty of teaching these kids how to make grenades and other bombs to throw at Israelis, guilty of not teaching their children right from wrong. This sociopath behavior is unbelievable, and shows that Israel is the only side really vying for peace and coexistence.

Summary: There's usually two sides to every story...
Review: This film is, above all, biased. This is not to say it's wrong, or even bad, but it indeed is propaganda. Now, it is true that Israel has made mistakes--many, perhaps--in this situation. However, the film takes only the Palestinian side and forgets some key facts...perhaps they could've mentioned, the day after the State of Israel was created, 5 armies from neighboring Arab states invaded, intending to destroy the new country. But that was in 1948. They could've mentioned too, though, how, in retaliation for their plights, the well-supported suicide bombers went into Israeli restaurants, schools, and places of worship, with explosives packed with nails strapped to them, intending to kill as many innocent civilians as possible. This would've put the film into context, but, as was said before, it's trying to sell the Palestinian side.

Summary: idiotic
Review: This is a horribly biased film with an obvious agenda to make people sympathize with terrorists (not the innocent Palestinians) and condemn innocent Israelis (not the Israeli Army). A far cry from a fair documentary and there are several better titles if you're looking for real education on this issue.

Summary: Good Historical Background but Leaves the US role out of it.
Review: Tragedy in the Holy Land - The Second Uprising gives an excellent background to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. Two-thirds of it is a history lesson of the region. It starts off in the late 1800's briefly talking about the roots of Zionism and concludes with the beginning of the current Intifada. I have read several books about the conflict to gain a better understanding of it, but have not been able to find something so handy that gives a quick historical account of the past events that have led to the current Intifada.

I was disappointed that it makes no mention of the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty. It also makes no mention of the huge amount of US aid sent every year to Israel. It also makes no mention of the US armed forces that are always training the Israelis with the latest defense technology. Such technology meant for use against invading armies, not innocent civilians. No mention is made of Congress' support of Israeli occupation. Excluding these and other points turns this conflict into one strictly between Israelis and Palestinians and leaves the US out of the equation. I would hope that anyone trying to understand this conflict would also try to understand the amount of financail and moral support our representatives in the House, Senate and, of course, the White House are giving Israel. Maybe then, they will realize that supporting Israel's right to exist does not have to mean supporting Palestine's right not to.

Summary: It is a true tragedy
Review: What a documentary. This is a must watch for ever peace loving person. Cause till you dont know the history you cant understand what is happening in palestine and why. What is happening in palestine by the hands of israel is apartheid. The fact is make the living condition so unbearable for the palestenian that they themselves leave the area which is theres. All the illegal occupation by israel. Please Watch it before you make any comment about it. Like my dear friend has commented in his review that israel is the only only vying to live in peace along side palestenians. Then can he explain why more and more of palestenian land is stolen. Is this israels way to peace. Peace is when u r fair and honest.
