Summary: C'mon, this isn't trying to be serious...
Review: for gosh sakes, there's a shower scene. A shower scene! This ceases to be a documentary when the shower scene begins.

This was easily the funniest documentary I've ever seen -- engaging, funny, great music -- but let's not pretend we learned very much, class. Sure, there are a few facts here, including what it's like to feel like a toad, but this isn't serious education.

I'd still show it in schools, though. Kids need to laugh, too.

Summary: The "Citizen Cane" of amphibian Movies
Review: Highly recommended. Please check it out.

Summary: Entertaining, but perhaps overhyped...
Review: I bought this on advice that it was the funniest thing people had ever seen, and indeed it was pretty funny. However, despite it's short runtime, there were still dull moments. Funniest scenes definitely included the questionable professor that described various anotomical parts of the toads with an intense almost erotic vigor, and the jeep guy that enjoyed "popping" the toads by driving recklessly over them in the road. It's well worth an hour of your life.

Summary: Fantastic lesson, great movie!
Review: I first saw "Cane Toads" in science class in high school-- it's really wonderful, both as a lesson and as entertainment. The story of the cane toads, and the exploration of the issues surrounding their existence in Australia are very interesting and well-presented. I thought the music was particularly memorable! All in all, a lot of fun.

Summary: I've been looking for this for YEARS!
Review: I first saw this video on Canadian television years ago, and couldn't believe it actually existed. It will make you wet your pants with unabashed glee! The ping pong ball scene is the best.... I've lived for the balance of my PCT (Post-Cane-Toads) life trying to find others who have seen it... so far, besides myself and my sister, there have only been two... I formed a band with one of them... we call ourselves "Cane Toads"....

Summary: I've never entered feed back online for anything...
Review: I had to write a review for this documentary, despite never having done so before, because of the particularly inspiring film style and content of this painfully hillarious film. Based on fact and using (according to the description) real footage of kingsland residents and researchers, the film got me rolling with laughter so hard I couldn't sit still. I watched it as part of a class on evolution, and had to go home and buy it that day. The alternative was to drive my husband crazy by incessantly describing parts of the program that he couldn't possibly understand without the benefit of seeing them himself!!

Summary: outrageously funny
Review: I have been searching for a copy of this since seeing it at an "art" theater years ago. This film will give you memories that will never fade! From an image of a dinner-plate-size toad dressed up in frilly doll clothes by a happy toddler (not all that much bigger than the toad) to an interview with a duffer expounding on the benefits of wide tires when finding them on the road, this movie is wonderful. I am convinced that the most of the souls interviewed had no idea of the glee that would meet their heart-felt reactions to these huge toads. Apparently if you live with them, you have to have a strong opinion one way or the other. The film has a weird kind of gracefulness as well as a high sense of humor in examining the toad's invasion of Australia and the multifaceted relationship of the australians with their new neighbors... My favorite movie ever!

Summary: Hilarious - biological control gone wrong!!
Review: I have looked all over for this video since I first saw it in a college biology class. This video does a wonderful job discussing the issue of introduced species and the biology of the cane toad while putting it in a social context. The interviews make the plight of both the cane toad and the humans hit home. One of my favorite movies.

Summary: Unbelievably the funniest nature film yet,Cane Toads Rule!!!
Review: I have to believe that I never laugh at something as funny as this. It is great dipiction of how humans try to fix there own mistakes by altering natures own. Caution to be view for adults and not to be shown in schools.
