Review: not only does this tell of how the people inside the 'compound' at waco were not the raging, fanatical, militant cult that the FBI, ATF, and media portrayed them as, but shows the FBI *BLATANTLY* lying. supposedly no gunshots were fired, yet the leading expert on Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) determines gunshots entering the building...a DEFINITE MUST SEE

After you watch the video, read Dave Kopel and Paul Blackman's book No More Wacos, which provides a lot more detail.Before I saw this movie, I was prepared to believe that what happened at Waco was gross negligence -- that the FBI failed to understand the psychology of the Branch Davidians, and unintentionally created a situation where suicide looked reasonable. I was also prepared to believe that the fire could have started accidentally, the FBI having created a powderkeg situation by putting CS gas into building. After watching this movie, it seems clear to me that what happened wasn't negligence -- it was "kill all the witnesses."

Summary: This most important documentary in modern U.S. history.
Review: The fact that this movie didn't win the Oscar for Best Documentary that it was nominated for is a conspiracy in itself (Let's just say leftist Hollywood would never have let a Republican administration get away with such death and destruction). A quote from Charles A. Beard would have been an excellent capper for this movie: "It is sobering to reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go around repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence." The Branch Davidians staunchly exercised their 1st Amendment right to practice their freedom of religion. They also vehemently supported the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms and were active traders of firearms at trade shows for profit. This was a dangerous combination in the eyes of the Clinton Administration. William Gazecki does an outstanding job of putting together the overwhelming case against the various branches of the U.S. Government to show that those who poked their gun muzzles at the Branch Davidians have a lot to hide -- and the stacks and stacks of "missing" evidence from the seige is the smoking gun that cannot be found. Perhaps David Koresh and the Branch Davidians were strange. Perhaps a few illegal activities occurred on their compound to warrant investigation. But to see the movie's footage of people like U.S. Senator Charles Schumer (then a congressman) and Attorney General Janet Reno intentionally besmirching the victims (and their defenders) on CSPAN with unproven accusations of child abuse and warmongering, only to have mountains of evidence return a damning finger at the ATF, FBI, and U.S. Dept. of Justice as the cause of the unprecedented carnage leaves the viewer sad and afraid of its own democratically elected leaders. Everything the mainstream press didn't report is here in a video (and it shows them coralled out of view of the seige being spoon-fed the official "government line" from an endless series of high-placed bureacrats, dutifully scribing every word). How it is that multiple governmental investigations couldn't reveal what one devoted documentarist did is even more disturbing than the events itself. This movie isn't just a must-see, it is a must-own. The movie ends with a few gaps that need filled. But it is important to note a new movie "Waco: A New Revelation" is being released soon. Maybe the Branch Davidians did have a contributory responsibility for the disasterous outcome, but with the almost desperate way the government agencies needed to describe their opponents as "gun-toting, suicidal religious nuts" for the cameras reveals it was vital to suggest the authorities were the Good Guys saving us all from a dangerous cult. However, the movie goes on to interview the local lawmen of Waco who found the Davidians a strange but peaceful bunch. This is the theme of the movie: Hear the government's version, hear the version of those who were there, then present the evidence. The government looks bad every time. If you don't buy this movie, make the effort to rent it first. I guarantee you'll want to buy it and show it to all who are willing to watch. It's that compelling.

Summary: Good filmmaking does not make for good facts
Review: The movie is well-made and not overtly partisan, which is why it was Academy Award nominated and which is why it is so dangerous. There are crucial misrepresentations in the movie. Contrary to the what the movie says, Branch Davidianism is not simply an offshoot of SDA church -- it has little to do with SDA, Koresh has a long history of violent erratic behavior. We see Koresh as a spiritual person but we don't see the testimony of the weeping 14 year-old talking about her first sexual experience with Koresh four years before. Probably the most misleading part of the movie comes from the interpretation of the infrared film. There is no way you can look at such film and definitively say the things that were said in that movie. It is a well-made version of Chariots of the Gods or some of the other "take a theory and make it fact" school of documentary we have. Two stars.

Review: The only other movie that made me feel the way I did after I saw this was "Schindler's List". This is a completely jaw-dropping documentary - it gave me shivers.

Summary: Shock Disbelief Fear
Review: This critically acclaimed film should be seen by everyone aged 18-80. I didn't give it 5 stars, because the makers were unable to give us a definitive answers to the lingering questions about the violent beginning and fiery ending to the Waco seige. Perhaps some of those questions will be answered in the months to come. Clips from the film are being used occasionally in the mainstream press, but the content of the film is needed to really to understand what the network news exposes viewers to for only 5 to 30 seconds.

Review: This is a pure F.B.I. cover-up in a pure texan style. After J.F.K. it`s Waco. This would not have happened in other state but in Texas you can do any kind of cover-up. These people don`t care. You just have to watch the texans opinions in the movie.
