Summary: Review the movie, not the person as any idiot should know
Review: This is a great documentary. I should start by saying that I am a registered Republican and do have REGISTERED Hand-guns. This movie seemed to me to be saying that people in this country miss-use guns (just like they do so many other decent things). Moore is also funny to me, more of a devil's advocate than a menace. He is allowed to air his veiws, even though I don't personally agree with him. ....

Summary: Those who hate this movie are blinded by ignorance!
Review: If you actually watch this movie with an open mind you will quickly realize that it is NOT about gun control. I know the NRA types are panicked, so they blast the movie without even watching it. The movie is about how we kill over 10,000 Americans every year with guns. In Canada they have millions of guns yet their murder rate is not even close to ours per capita. Canada does not have any stricter gun laws than we do. I know the NRA types will argue this point, but I lived in Canada for more than 2 years, I should know. His reasoning is that the media thrives on panic and fear. Street crime in America has gone down yet coverage of crime has gone up. The Canadian media does not subscribe to the theory "If it bleeds it leads". When I lived in Canada the OJ Simpson case was at its height. It was usually the 6th or 7th story of the day never once was it the first. Our media would have you believe you are in danger the minute you walk out the door. We watch this because we want to be safe and this increases their ratings. Because of their media, Canadians are not panicked like Americans. They don't shoot first and ask questions later. That my friend is the point he is making in the movie. NOT ONCE DOES HE SUGGEST GUN CONTROL! He suggests having cool head, an open mind and to think about our actions. Don't believe everything the media tells you.

Summary: Standing Ovations
Review: People were actually giving a standing ovation at the end of this movie. I saw it the second day it was out. It was an amazing experience. I would own this movie and keep it for educational purposes and as a keepsake. After Moore won the award, I wanted to see it again. But I was not able to find theaters showing it and have had very little success (I live in a very large city, and was saddened to find that I literally was going to make a road trip to the other part of the state to see this movie again). This movie NEEDS to be released on DVD or VHS. SOON.

Summary: Bowled Over by Bowling In Columbine
Review: Couldn't keep to my seat, watching this film. Half of me was pulled one way, laughing - and the other half the other way, cryng. Luckily, my seatmates understood as they were in the same boat.

Michael says it all - even when he manages not to talk at all. For example, he cruelly lets poor old C. Heston hoist himself on his own petard by letting the kindly old gun worshiper ramble, stumble and smile until finally in low dudgeon he escapes from himself, by walking off the set. But then, in another scene, Michael can't shut up - he keeps yakking at Dick Clark, who is unable to get the door of his van closed fast enough when he discovers what he is up against here. D.C. just fails to catch Michael's intruding and blabbing head as the door slams shut. The WalMart segments - oh the WalMart segments! You'll just have to see them for yourselves.

The film has hysterical highs followed by devastating blows,(sic) one o' top the other. The in depth reporting on the Columbine massacre takes ones breath away. I was out of breath when I left the theatre. Michael's genius for putting it all together is magnificent.

For those who have managed not to have had their brains stuffed by the current pablum brain-food flung at them by our pathetic big-time media (and for those who have had, of course) this film is a must-see!!

Summary: NOTICE: most negative reviews were after the Oscars, True.
Review: These conservatives are the funniet lot we have in this country. Seriously. This film was brilliant, it did not in any way take the anti gun route that these people say it did. I will agree that some of it was kinda slow, I wanted moore action (pun intended). That is the problem with these people, they seem so afraid to watch or hear anything that they disagree with because they are afraid to possibly change their minds or lean another way, but followers will always be followers, not leaders. Mr. Moore showed us that he actually favors the right to bear arms, if you actually watched this movie then you know that is true, but that we actually seem more hell bent on causing destruction. ...

Summary: Why Americans kill . . .
Review: Michael Moore investigates America's love affair with guns and violence and seeks an answer to the question, among others: Why, if more Canadians per capita own guns, is their murder rate so much lower than America's?

The answer is a lot more complicated than just the typical gun control debate and Moore answers it with irony, humor and devastating truth. He looks into America's soul and finds something dark and disturbing.

Great movie. Everyone should own a copy.

Summary: Brilliant essay on our society.
Review: This is actually a film that conservatives liked, it was after all a pro-arms film. If you watch it it is obvious and anyone who doesn't like it, after the Oscars where Moore (totally his right and responsibility too) spoke his mind are showing what trash they are. This is a film all AMERICANS should watch. It is about violence and how much we seem to need it as opposed to other countries where they have guns but nowhere near the violent streak we do here. This truly is thee most important film to be released in a very long, long time. Will it change our country? I doubt it.

Summary: Funny, thought provoking and moving film
Review: This film is brilliant! It is quite simply amongst Michael Moore's best work ever. It will annoy pro-gun supporters everywere but leaves them without a leg to stand on except the predictable few who will cry out "he's lying!". This is nonsense of course. Michael Moore specialises in exposing the truth and for that we should be eternally grateful.

Summary: Amazing Movie
Review: This is an amazing movie that speaks the truth of America's paranoia, racism, and gun violence. Don't believe reviews by gun-nuts who didn't see the movie (it didn't show anywhere near South Carolina!). See it and judge for yourself.

Moore has a terrific insight and I'm looking forward to buying this movie on DVD.

Summary: Like him or hate him, an artist speaks to the world
Review: ... When my wife and I saw "Bowling for Columbine" in New York City at the sold out Lincoln Square Theater you could hear a pin drop as the credits rolled and there was a palpable energy of an audience that had been moved as so few movies do these days. Like him or hate him (and I am among those that think he is a passionate and effective filmmaker),
