Summary: Stunning Cinematograpy and Natural Beauty
Review: I loved this on the big screen and still do in my home. Nature is captured in stunning beauty and the tropical paradise comes to life. I recommend this as a natural escape for those wet and cold city blues. For nature lovers, you might try a wonderful underwater adventure in "IMAX- The Living Sea" or try my favorite natural getaway! Bring a book or simply do nothing as you relax on white sand beaches, listen to lapping waves, and watch gorgeous sunsets in "Hawaiian Dreams: WAVES Virtual Vacations."

Summary: High Definition style picture quality!
Review: IMAX out does any other DVD's in tranfer of films and picture quality. I haven't gone wrong EVER buying ANY IMAX picture. The closet you'll ever get to High Definition. Like looking through glass. I tried it on an old tv and it made my tv look like new almost. Truley amazing! And most IMAX DVD's include DTS sound. For you widescreen lovers, DO NOT be put-off by the standard format of 1:33:1 that the DVD IS Released it. It is the way the film was shot and on my widescreen the picture is awesome watching it in ANY frame. "Full" or "Wide Zoom". It even gives you that feeling your at the IMAX theatre and does not take away anything because it is not in widescreen format. The closet thing to High Definition DVD is worth the price alone. You can't go wrong with any IMAX film.Sure some of the IMAX films might not have the greatest stories and might be under an hour long, but in my opinion the picture quality alone is worth the price. It is my opinion that IMAX and it's affiliates are the absolute BEST in DVD digital / picture quality transfer. I have yet to see a beter DVD picture. Also, most IMAX DVD's come with DTS sound.I even purchased the 3-D IMAX box set and was amazed at the amusement park/in your face special effects I got on my widescreen television. IMAX absoulutly RULES in DVD productions. "Dolphins" is an exceptional documentary and the picture is so great it should've been titled "Swimming with Dolphins".

Summary: Does it really matter if it's high resolution picture yadda?
Review: Like virtually all IMAX movies; a bloody bore and fit for audiences who simply love to go home and throw something on their big wide screen tv that they don't have to think about, by gosh by golly!

Review: Make sure you watch the making of Dolphins as well. If your children are looking for another fun video -- check out Captain Jon Explores the Ocean (also available from Amazon)!

Summary: Glorious movie!!
Review: My whole family loved this movie at the Imax theater, including my sometimes hard to please autistic child. They both watched the entire thing, in awe most of the time! I bought it to watch at home and it was almost as good as watching it at the large imax theater. The island music, mostly done by Sting, combined with the beautiful images create an incredible movie. And before you even realize it, you've actually gotten an education in dolphins. It's painless learning for the youngsters....

Summary: Dolphins IMAX DVD
Review: Now THIS was an outstanding movie! Great commentary and human interest as well as all of the dolphin footage you could want. Even the "making of Dolphins" was great. If you love dolphins, you will love this film.

Summary: The Living Sea, Part 2
Review: Sting and Steve Wood do it again. Mr. Wood uses the best parts of Sting's songs to arrange the musical score for Dolphins. I really enjoy the "When We Dance" versions of the score in "When Dolphins Dance". Overall a great soundtrack. Still not as good as "The Living Sea" (That's why it got 4 stars), but a must to have for any Sting fan.

Summary: Sting's Rework of His New Release Works for Dolphins
Review: The album has a few surprises for the ears, and anyone who has seen the IMAX movie knows the music flows beatifully with the images on the screen. But it also works as a stand alone CD album with a continuity you would expect from Sting and from a movie score. Most of the songs are a reworking of his latest album, "Brand New Day". One little item that I noticed from the film score and the actual "Brand New Day" version, is that he changed the lyrics of the song "Fill er Up" to a more secular lyric by leaving out the name Jesus, where its use in the original CD is very fitting vernacular for the characters in the song, but might not go over on a broader audience in the theater, not knowing the context of the original song. I would highly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys Sting, and more particularly to those who like to listen to a CD all the way through. If you are one who punches through the CD to find the one or two favorite cuts, you will find plenty on this album to appeal to your ears, but you will miss the beauty and genius of its construction. Oh yes, go see the movie too. Listening to this CD afterwards will then be filled with lingering images of beauty as well.
