Summary: An Indie Film Collection - MUST HAVE!
Review: A light breezy romantic comedy with a lot of heart and laughs. The cast is amazing considering the budget. I cought it a few times on SUNDANCE CHANNEL and finally bought the DVD...it's worth it not just for the movie but for the commentary with Paul Tarantino, Larry Sher, and the films distributor. If you're interested in going down the indie trail this is a must have for the collection. It's funny and inspiring to hear how this film got made. I'm not 100% sure what it takes to "steal a location" but evidently Tarantino did it with reckless abandon and amazing success! Look for KATHY GRIFFIN, JULIA SWEENEY, CHRIS HARDWICK, TAYLOR NEGRON, ANA GASTEYER, RYAN STILES, DANA GOULD, JOHN ENNIS and more...all can be found here seemingly moments before they became successful.

Summary: COURTING COURTNEY REVIEW
Review: For a first feature Paul Tarintino couldn't have done a better job. This film, which only had a budget of roughly 20,000 dollars, features an amazing cast, and is filled with laughs.

The film follows Nick (Dana Gould)as he makes a documentary about his best friend Courtney (who he happens to be madly in love with).

The film has several "classic" moments, and will forever be included in my DVD collection.

The special features on this DVD, including an AUDIO COMMENTARY and the TRAILER, are also great for the film buffs.

All in all, even if your not an "indy film" fan, you'll flip over this romantic comedy from Toasted Films.

Summary: Festival Gold
Review: I first saw this film at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 1997, having spent quite a bit of time at festivals stuck watching films that seemingly have no intention in doing what I believe films are meant to do first and foremost - entertain. Then, due to a last minute schedule change, I happened upon this film COURTING COURTNEY and what a lucky twist of fate it was. This film has charm to spare and never forgets it's primary objective - to keep the audience engaged! After the screening, filmmaker Paul Tarantino spoke and was every bit as entertaining as his film. So many times these festival gems are lost in the distribution shuffle so I was glad to see it being released at all much less on DVD...with audio commentary! The film itself is a treasure of amusing characters. But I can tell you as a veteran of the film business and as an aspiring filmmaker that the commentary is priceless to other would-be filmmakers working with no budget but boatloads of passion. And Tarantino's jovial personality rings out - he should appear in one of his future films. Reportedly made for under $30,000 the film looks and feels far beyond it's budget and contains many recognizable faces including: KATHY GRIFFIN, RYAN STILES, JULIA SWEENEY, and ANA GASTEYER. To be sure this gem is not without it's blemishes - the story is fairly predictable, and some of the acting is standard sit-com, but it delivers lots of laughs and heart - and who can get enough of that? I would normally give the film a 4 star rating but opted here for 5 because of the commentary.

Summary: Great film to watch again and again
Review: I first saw this film when it screened at the Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival and I was very impressed. I'm not normally into comedies, but it was an absolute joy to watch this film and get caught up in the unique storyline and the fine performances Mr. Tarantino brought out of his fantastic cast. For Independent Filmmakers, this is a MUST SEE. You'll be amazed at the production values this great director was able to get out of a $20,000 budget. Absolutely amazing! Check it out!

Summary: An Indie Film Collection - MUST HAVE!
Review: The acting is terrible, the script is contrived, the lead characters aren't likable, and the dialogue is not funny. Also, the "great moments" are a direct ripoff from "When Harry Met Sally".
