Summary: Definitely ...different
Review: Different, but good. I liked it. The dreamlike sequences were a bit blasphemous, but very creepy. A silly movie overall, but still not bad. I was surprised to see a good Hugh Grant movie! The idea of the snake vampires instead of bat ones was really interesting. The background story was great and the scene where the vampiress seduces the boyscout is priceless! I liked the twist at the end too.

Summary: Wicked!
Review: Hideously kinky, delightfully depraved and woefully witty... this is Ken Russell's masterpiece! Where else can you see ex-"Dynasty" trollop Catherine Oxenberg trussed up as a virginal pagan sacrifice to a 90-foot long demonic albino snake? Or ex-L.A. Lawyer Amanda Donahoe running around in just a thin layer electric blue bodypaint and two-inch snake fangs? Or the pre-"Four Weddings and a Funeral" Hugh Grant act like the smug, upper-class twit that he is instead of a hangdog shy wimp? What a great movie!

The DVD looks good... not a huge improvement over the VHS release, but the trailers and TV spots are funny and Ken Russell's commentary is droll and entertaining. I highly reccomend this film for anyone who likes vampires, thigh-high leather boots, Tommy: the Movie or dry-humored immortal pagan snake-god priestesses. Hail Dionin!

Summary: Ken Russell Fan
Review: I couldn't wait for this movie to be finally put on DVD. I remembered when i first saw this movie at the theater over 10 years ago. Today It can only be appreciated in its widescreen format. I have this movie on VHS and Laserdisc, I'll never go back to using those other formats. The picture quality is outstanding on DVD. Plus I got to know the directors insight on making the movie due the audio commentary, that was enlightening. If you like "Midnight" type movie this is the one you.

Summary: Thi movie was the best!
Review: I first saw this on the sc-fi channel{edited} and I loved it so much that I searched all over the land to find it. It took about four monthes but I finally found it. It was just as good as I had seen it before. The plot is original, suspensful, and bizzare. Trust me: The Lair Of The White Worm is worth spending $1,000,000 to see. I keep it in a little shrine in my room

Summary: Surreal kink
Review: I found this movie to be FUN to watch, several times. It has a number of actors who stared in this film before they became big names in America. There is Catherine Oxenberg in her skivies, Amanda Donohoe painted and wearing- you'll have to watch it to see, Hugh Grant welding a sword as Lord of the manor and having a surreal dream,Sammi Davis looking plain (Stand-Ins), and that spactacular shot of Amanda aproching the skull of the Worm- when you see it you'll rewind to watch it again. The movie also has a danm good song, The Dampton Worm. All round a great watch.John.

Summary: First rate fun and horror
Review: I love this film, I love this film, I love this film! Ken Russell's campy sense of humour flourishes in this story, written by Stoker in the latter stages of an obscure brain disease. If you can't see the jokes, you've wandered into the wrong genre; those looking for gore will be grossly disappointed. Get out the popcorn and prepare for a romp.

Summary: one of the most terrifying films ever made!
Review: I rented this the other night and afterwards I had to make sure all the doors and windows were locked! TWICE! If you enjoy being scared, REALLY scared, buy LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM at once. The film layers on the suspense and unbearable tension from the opening scenes and the special effects, especially that snake tongue(!) and acting are top notch. What an ending! Don't let anyone fool you, this is what horror films are meant to be like.

Summary: Outstanding Entertainment
Review: I wouldn't go so far as to call this movie a masterpiece, but it's entertainment value is undeniable. Sex, violence, vampires, sacrilege, all done with a surprisingly effective sense of humor. Brings to mind The Fearless Vampire Killers. The scene in which Angus "charms" the police chief with his bagpipes is priceless.
