The Dead Hate the Living

Summary: Return of the Living Dead: The Next Generation
Review: My only, ONLY complaint of this film is that it takes about 5/10 mins to set up-too long.
It does however have;
-As-sensical-as-it-should-be Plot
-Great zombie effects (return to the good old 1980s style)
-Good acting
-Geeky injokes ie. "What would Bruce Campbell do?"
-Good villain (Is that Rob Zombie?)
-Funny dialogue

The film is not a Full Moon film in spirit, so most horror fans will enjoy it.

Overall, in the top 15 zombie films of all time, but not quite original enough to be in the top 10 (It's pushed down by the cult classic Night of the Comet)

Review: Never again will I decide to take home a movie from the video store by judging the cover... This movie totally dissapointed me after the raving reviews I had read. The plot was lame and as I never can turn off a movie, I was dying for it to end, wincing in pain. This movie is not worth 85 dollars let alone 5 dollars. I can't believe the director pays homage to Fulci! What a disgrace and a sorry attempt at making a decent horror flick. Damn you, Full Moon!

Summary: Stage Set For Another Great Series?
Review: Perhaps I became a victim of the hype. Perhaps I was expecting too much, who knows. I came away from this film with an empty, unfulfilled feeling.

There are some really cool, great scenes in here. One of them is a classic that I think I will always remember. But unfortunately the zombies never get too deadly and their leader (Dr. Eibon) never seems to get 'evil enough'. What I am trying to say, is that you never are too sickened, hate, or even get too disgusted with the zombies and Dr. Eibon (aside from one, possibly 2 scenes) in the film.

I really liked the storyline in this film though. The opening of a world of zombies is a great idea! The ending was so open ended, if reminds me of past Full Moon favorites like the Puppet Master, and Subspecies series whose first films weren't the greatest, but films following in the series get really great and create an excellent storyline.

The actors were not really too great, but you do get an exceptional performance by Jamie Donahue. Her acting was believable, and thrilling to watch. She was the best of the cast and I hope to see her in more!

I am looking forward to any sequels Full Moon may make. I'd love to see a Zombie world (but keep Ms. Donahue as the lead)!

Review: Sure this movie had a stupid plot and bad acting but that is what makes these kinds of horror movies fun.
I bought this movie expecting the worst and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a fun movie with good special effects and lots of gore. It is a must to have in your collection for true fans of the genre.

Summary: Interesting....and humorous.
Review: This film actually tries to make sense. I wished there was more to the ending. It just started to get good and then it ended all too soon. The director doesnt really explain why the dead hate the living but whatever. I watched this for visual effects (which were some of the best I've seen in a zombie flick). The characters are actually funny and try to imitated Bruce Campbell (whom was actually referenced in the film). The writer was obviously pationate about Fulci films and Sam Rami. The actors actually make jokes as they are about to be ripped to shreds. It also has a the old cliche's such as the "oh its you" and the person freezes at the sight of the once loved one or whoever they once knew and and the person lets the zombie munch on their neck, as if saying wait your teeth are getting closer to me but I'll just....ummm are you gonna take a bite out of me....ummm wait you are ripping my neck open... ok you get the point.

This is the first time in awhile I've seen a director try real hard to make a good zombie movie. As for the actors they are actually trying hard to act for once. For once the actors arent total trash that I could have acted better in my sleep.

Coolest scene: Big muscular zombie punch thru a students stomach and drag his body by his intestines.

Worst scene: Guy just burns 3 zombies and foils the Leader zombies plan and stares at the girl (which turned zombie) he liked and lets her bite him and tear his neck off.

Summary: What a piece of s***
Review: This has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. These people had some money for some special effects, but none for talent.

Just to give you an idea of how bad this flick is: The story is these kids are trying to shoot their own horror movie in this abandoned hospital or whatever it is..... so they have some props for thir movie..... one of which is a fake-looking cemetery made of styrofoam and wood and crap.... okay, so they run into the main bad guy who is a cheap Rob-Zombie ripoff, and he summons up the zombies in this film...... FROM THE PROP GRAVEYARD THE FILM STUDENTS HAD BUILT!!! And we're supposed to not notice this!?!?! That this was never supposed to be a real cemetery but now the main bad guy can summon the living dead from it??

This movie is as bad as the 2003 flick House of the Dead..... maybe worse. It's a real brown sewer nugget.

Summary: Please Make It Stop!!!!
Review: This is undoubtedly one of the worst horror movies ever made, and it was no great surprise to see that it carried the dreaded Full Moon Entertainment insignia. It starts off in some kind of abandoned autopsy lab, or something. There's this [person] babbling about breaking through to some other dimension, and he's got zombies (which he calls his minions and yet simultaneously fears) trying to kill him. Later a bunch of slackers come in to shoot their own horrible zombie movie; truly a collection of flaccid, lackluster characters covering virtually every spectrum of the movie cliche pantheon. You've got the talentless, obssessed director, the oddball for the special effects, the stoner on the camera, and even the director's pointless assistant, "Topaz", thrown in for sex appeal.

[...] Army of Darkness this movie isn't.

Eventually "the gang" discovers some kind of [...] machine that evidently makes a gateway between this world and the world of dead, over-latexed cliche zombies. Of course Topaz is able to connect the right cables and reactivate the machine, and, oh boy, the horror really starts then. That [person] from the beginning of the movie---let's call him Zombie Guy---shows up with a group of zombies that look like they were never even human in the first place. The gang starts geting croaked at a mercifully fast pace, until, at last, you only have Topaz, the director and the special effects guy. After an idiotic fight scene that made me thing of Roadhouse, Topaz gets captured. So, director guy and special effects guy get ready to go get her back. What do they do? They dress up like zombies themselves, and somehow fool the other zombies, several of which have no eyes to even see the costumes. This particular technique, as some of you might remember, was perfected a long time ago by Shaggy and Scooby Doo. And that's pretty much what Zombie Guy is, a half-baked Scooby Doo villain with a plan straight off a public bathroom wall. Then, finally, you think you're safe when the movie ends, until you hear the title track, that is.

Summary: This movie is a waste of my beer guzzling time
Review: This movie goes well beyond where no one would go. Its boundries crossed tatared with the light of other films. This waste of film video is scene by scene and word for word ripped out of almost every horror film in existence. It is the blackend botton of a pit in dispair. It not only makes jokes about some of horrors greatests influences it is an utter self shutter of human perversions.

Summary: Full Moon Picture's Scores Again...
Review: This movie has got to be one of the worst horror/zombie movies I have ever seen, and trust me I have seen many bad ones. It doesn't even have an interesting plot; the highlight of the movie is that annoying theme song at the end aptly titled "Dead Hate the Living". The twist ending was its only saving quality. For some reason all of the Full Moon Pictures I have seen (although the company seems promising because they have so many horror titles) are horrible. The only one that I would say is worse is Redneck Zombies... If you are one of those people who like to say you have seen all the horror movies you can find, watch it. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
