Review: The teaming of Stephen King and George Romero is a Horror classic! The stories alone aren't exactly scary, save for "The Crate" which is a stand alone scarefest. But nonetheless this video is an essential purchase for any Horror fan! Five stories, all written by Stephen King are contained within."Father's Day" is about a mean spirited old man who comes back from the grave to give his even meaner family their just desserts. "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verril" stars King himself as a lonely farmer who finds a meteor and its strange growing properties. King's performance is hilarious, as is his Chia Pet transformation. "Something To Tide You Over" is a great story, starring Leslie Nielson and Ted Danson. About a slighted man's revenge toward his wife and her lover. And how the tide has a habit of bringing things back. Up until the end this is a highly original thriller, with a seriously twisted murder weapon. Entertaining, but not scary. "The Crate" is the best of the bunch, a scary monster story. Hal Holbrook is a professor with a problem. His wife. When he's asked to help a colleague with something very old and dangerous that lives in a crate and likes to eat people, he thinks of the perfect meal for the creature. Graphic, violent, and strangely funny this is reason enough to purchase this movie. "They're Creeping Up On You" is about a very powerful old man who likes to step on those who get in his way. But he has a deep fear of bugs. Probably the worst of the bunch, but worth watching for the end. The comic book element throughout, and a very nasty ending brought to us by a disobedient child and a mail order voodoo doll. Creepshow is a must have for the Horror fan, especially if you ever read any of the old E.C. comics which can still be obtained through reprint editions at your local comic book store.

Summary: A good collection of horror stories
Review: "Creepshow" is a few horror stories all put into one video. All of them are good, but there are two that really stand out. One of them is where Leslie Nielsen stars as a psychopath who kills people by burying them in the sand on the beach, while the ocean is supposed to drown them. In another one, Stephen King has to deal with a plant that just won't quit growing, and it takes over his house. "Creepshow" isn't a horror movie like some of the blockbuster horror movies such as the Friday The 13th and The Nightmare on Elm Street series, it's a bunch of short horror stories that are based on comic books. The movie does a great job in every way. The stories are all mysterious and will keep you interested from start to finish. I recommend anybody who likes horror movies to get "Creepshow."

Summary: Great Comic Book Style Horror Film.
Review: Clearly this is one of the best films from director:George A. Romero. Romero gives a nice touch, how the story is told in comic book format. Now that a real fun plus to the picture. This is one of my favorites horror film, since i seen it, a long time ago. Romero has been giving one hell of a cast, including: Hal Halbrook(The Fog), Andrienne Barbeau(Also in The Fog, Escape From New York), Leslie Nielsen(The Naked Gun Trilogy), E.G. Marshall(Absolute Power), Viveca Lindfors(Stargate), Ed Harris(The Abyss), Ted Danson(The hit CBS Series`s Becker), Tom Atkins(Halloween 3) and Stephen King star in his own story, the funniest of the five segments:The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill. Make-up effects by Tom Savini gives one of his best work ever. My favorite segment is The Crate is the most successful stories in the film. Good Screenplay by Stephen King one of his successful work to the Big Screen. A true treat from Romero, king and Savini make-up works. DVD Version is excellent. For the first time in a Widescreen (1.85:1) Presentation and also in Pan & Scan. Dolby Surround Soundtrack is excellent. A fun trailer to look at. Too bad, warner wasn`t interested given a behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes/outtakes and audio commentary by Romero, King and Savini. A new dolby digital 5.1 soundtrack. Maybe it could be in the near future. Travia:Galyen Ross, she plays Becky Vickers. In the third segment of the film. She`s best known in the role of Francine in Dawn of the Dead. Joe King is the son of Stephen King, he appear in the opening credits and the end of the picture. Christine Forrest, she`s appear in the fourth segment. She`s Romero real life wife. Her role in the film, she`s plays is Tabitha. Stephen King`s wife is also name Tabitha. Tom Savini appears as a Garbage Man at the end. John Amplas is best known for another Romero film, where he plays in the title role Martin. In the Tralier of the DVD, he appear in a scene with Lindfors, we don`t see the actor in the film but he does got credit as Nathan`s Corpse in the first segment-Father`s Day. Grade:A.

A billionare with a horrible fear of germs and insects finds his penthouse infested with nine hundread QUADRILLION coachroaches! With a few surreal animated sequences thrown in for good measure, CREEPSHOW is one horror film you won't soon forget.

Summary: Creepy selection of tales
Review: This is an excellent collection of five creepy tales from zombie maestro George A. Romero. Based on the tales of Stephen King (who also appears in one of the stories) it features a good cast. The DVD is good. The picture is very clear and the sound in Dolby stereo is a massive improvement over the mono video version. The title sequence at the beginning is awesome, with many thunderclaps in the surround channel. The extras are just a trailer. It would have been good to see more, especially a commentary from Romero & King; but it's still an excellant film and DVD.

Summary: Horror Genius With Wit
Review: How can i ever express my glee toward this 1982 film? From the first viewing i fell in love with the timeless horror classic. This particular entry into the genre is notable for its uncannyand faithful tribute to the 1950's horror comics (as distributed by EC Publishing), its comical charm, its fantastic effects, and its cult creators (Stephen King and George Romero, and effects by fan fave Tom Savini). Packed with five stories of the macabre this film is bound to please fans of horror as well as kids, adults, and most other moviegoers with its immortal style. The first tale provides us with a story regarding a cranky old man that was murdered by his daughter on Father's Day because she grew weary of his actions against her. Knowing that you are watching a Romero/King flick only can assure you of the fun to come from said situation. The second tale of terror stars none other than Stephen King in what is perhaps horror film's most enjoyable guest star role. King plays a simple hick who comes across a meteor which spreads its reign of terror around his home. King provides us with a truly memorable and quirky performance that is sure to remain in most people's minds. The third tale involves a cheating wife and the vengeance of her spiteful husband on both she and her "other" man...naturally taking up on the EC tradition we can only expect the worse lesson for the wrath-ridden husband via supernatural means. The fourth tale is about a strange crate that is discovered beneath the steps of a college stairwell. Within lie the mysterious contents of an Artic expedtion...that we all know will only wreak their havoc. The final creepout is slowly presented to us in the form of an evil tycoon with nothing on his mind but money...and getting rid of filthy cockaroaches (or vice versa?). Each story is fantastically told and to top it all off we are provided with a wraparound tale that introduces the whole chi-bang. This is what fun is all about. No need to take this serious just watch it for the enjoyability factor and you won't be disappointed. Fans will also find, much to their pleasure, a wide array of bedazzling special effects, oddball lighting, unique characters, and overall good direction and storytelling. A definite addition to any sane person's video library. The dvd version is creepshow at its best. Presented in the best color, picture, and sound ever, don't fret video buyers because the dvd sports nothing extra that you might be missing. Regardless of the lack of extra features this dvd is a no miss. Buy it

Summary: Worth watching just for the last two stories
Review: Warning-the following review contains some spoilers,so read carefully. This is a horror masterpiece.Well,sort of.The first three stories are only OK,but the film gets REALLY interesting and exciting when you reach "The Crate",which is arguably the best story.Hal Holbrook gives off an impressive performance as Henry and is perfect for the part.The crate beast is awesome and is quite a powerhouse.At one point he rips off part of a guy's face and bites off his ear.Lots of red bodily fluid flowing! The last story,"Their Crawling Up On You",is great too.The bugs are incredibly eerie and Mr.Pratt's death is quite gruesome (I won't spoil it for you.) This is a terrific horror film.Tom Savini delivers loads of gore and his work is awesome. The acting is above-average and the script is pretty decent.The first three tales are OK,but won't really hold your interest."Father's Day" is a little boring,"The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill" is average and "Something To Tide You Over" just ain't too good,but the last two stories rock.Their incredibly entertaining and quite gruesome.They are able to earn the film the 5-star rating.Their that great.Buy it just for the last two.They rock! Rated R for gruesome horror violence and some strong language.

Review: Old, but so magic, especially the first story. The music is also very well made. Try the fog, same style, you'll like it too!
