Summary: The Evil Dead Special Edition is Splatterific!
Review: One of the best DVDs out there. Beautiful, clear picture and re-mixed 5.1 audio ensures detailed bucket loads of gore.

Frightening, claustrophobic and hilarious. It's a genre masterpiece that's still being copied today and goes to show how a great imagination can triumph over budget limitations.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not too witty, and barely a 4 starer
Review: Shouldn't this be called Evil Demons? I expected zombies by the title's name. I figured this would be another 'Dead' film on the same level as George Romero's pictures. I understand it was made 20 years ago, but the humor spots weren't good in my book, and the best things in the movie was the beheading and the guy covered in blood. Film is filled with predictability, so think twice if you're thinking of purchasing this because of the title and rave reviews.

Review: A movie that just gets better the more you watch it...an evil botanical rape scene, decapitation by shovel, and mashed potatoes oozing from a demons decomposing body...how could it get any better?!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: So you havn't seen The Evil Dead , read my review
Review: When I first saw The Evil Dead I was'nt quite sure what to think because i could'nt either see or hear half of the movie due to it being in a home video camera format. (this being before the newly remastered versions came out) But even still I knew this movie was definately a classic in my category. I loved it, I could'nt believe how great a job this movie was made. from the start of the film your presented with a whole slew of amazing camera angles including one that is from under the floor as if the character is standing on the camera. The special effects were'nt so shabby themselves, I mean think about it for a movie that only took 350,000 dollars to make, it had better effects than Friday the thirteenth. The cast of the movie includes Bruce Campbell: who plays a man named Ashley J. Williams (who you'll later learn to call Ash). Ellen Sandweiss as Cherl (Ashs' sister), Hal Delrich as Scott (the man of action), Betsy Baker as Linda (Ashs' girlfriend), and Sarah York as Shelly (Scotts' girlfriend). The film was written and Directed by Sam Raimi who also directed Darkman,The Quick and the Dead, and just recently out A Simple Plan. But anyways back to the movie, The Evil Dead originally released in 1979 was the first of a trilogy. Then eight years later Evil Dead 2:Dead by Dawn (1987) hit the theaters, and six years after ED2 came Army of Darkness(1993) the third and final? installment of the Evil Dead series. I was unable to see any of these in the theater but from what i hear were not there very long. The Evil Dead also came fully equipped with something that was never done in movies before, the topic, the topic is that of souls of khandarian demons possesing humans and turning them into ferocious deadites, that feed on the lives of the living. For this to happen words from the Naturum de Montum (Book of the Dead) must be spoken and if done correctly all your friends will be deadites before you can spew catch phrases such as "Who Wants Some" or even "Groovy"

But besides The Evil Dead being just a movie, it has been a movie that has spawned many ideas for chartbusting videogames such as the Resident Evil Series, and possibly the newly released Silent Hill, Even computer games have Evil Dead in them, Many of Duke Nukems vocabulary comes from the Evil Dead, and the cover to Duke 3D is identical to the cover of Army of Darkness. So if you havn't seen The Evil Dead yet it's a great movie to watch at a sleep over or just anytime you get bored, so go rent it , and there's no excuse that you can't find it anymore because of the Re-released versions that Blockbuster and Home vision have copies of.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Delightful mix of non-stop gore and humour
Review: EVIL DEAD focusses on five college students who go to stay at a holiday house not knowing that it is ruled by demons. Four become possesed leaving the hilarious Bruce Campbell to get rid of them, the results are extremely grusome and wildly funny. Followed by EVIL DEAD 2: DEAD BY DAWN which I thought was even better.

Rating: 5 stars
