Summary: A classic, affected by modern movie-making..
Review: OK.. I love the original Night of the Living Dead. When I heard there was going to be a remake way back when, I was totally against it. I believe that the first is just as effective as it has ever been. It stands the test of time. Then I heard Tom Savini was going to direct the sequel. This uplifted my spirits. I respect Savini a great deal, and if there is a man who knows zombies as well as Romero and Fulci, it is him. Upon seeing the movie, I was initially impressed. He changed little, and what he did change, was effective. Until, the end.... I feel that this movie fell victim to what many movie makers of today fall victim to. They don't want the audience to feel 'bad' at the end of a movie. They don't want them to be 'dummed' out. If you remember the original, everyone dies. That is it. And I love the movie for that. There was no need to change that. Savini put his best foot forward, and made a great movie if considered on its own merit. But compared to the original, give me my Romero.

Summary: *A definite ZOMBIE classic*
Review: "Night Of The Living Dead" is a must for all those horror, and especially zombie lovers out there. Although this movie was created in 1990 it still had great effects, will send chills down your spine, and have you sitting on the edge of your seat. It takes affect in a small town in the states, only a very few people are not zombies and are stuck in a house. They get together and find nails, wood, and board up the house they r in. From there all scarey and very life threatening situations begin to unfold.

I am gonna keep quiet with this one....but it is a definite one to watch and buy.....even rent it

A definite horror classic

Summary: Utter Garbage
Review: Yet another imbecile remakes a classic and only suceeds in proving they never appreciated anything noteworthy about the original. Not one ounce of inspiration is to be found in this piece of dreck. Just endless Tom Savini gore effects. The characterizations are bastardized as well. Savini's Night of the Living Dead is a crime against the original. Only a remake of It's a Wonderful Life starring Alan Thicke and Kathy Lee Gifford could possibly compete with this travesty. How so many people could give this positive reviews is unimaginable. Here's a simple way to see if you should bother seeing, let alone purchasing this bomb. Did you enjoy the original? Do you appreciate plot more than effects? Do psychological elements frighten you more than splattering blood and latex limbs? Do you prefer protagonists you can identify with or obnoxious idiots you would like to kill yourself? If your answers to all these questions are yes, save your time and money by avoiding this turkey at all costs.

Summary: A Classic Zombie Film
Review: I like the fact that this film actually invokes some fear in me. The zombies are realistic and relentless. The people involved will not all work together because they have no clue as to how to handle the situation. So the struggle between those trying to fight the zombies, and those simply hiding in fear of them adds to the great plot.

Tony Todd enhances his role and makes the film believable. He is serious and calculating about what to do and drawns you into the movie. You will want to keep watching to see how everything turns out.

Summary: Extremely Entertaining Horror Yarn
Review: Very good digital transfer of an excellent horror remake. Director Tom Savini does an excellent job making zombies scary once more, breathing new life into a somewhat clichéd genre. Plenty of thrills and scares. Patricia Tallman (Barbara) and Tony Todd (Ben) are both superb in their roles as unlikely heroes. Plot twists and turns keep you second guessing. This is NOT one of those awful cornball cheesey black comedies. Night Of The Living Dead '90 is a must see if you are a fan of the genre but if monsters and ghouls really aren't your thing then even this probably won't do much for you.

Digitally remastered, good quality picture and sound. Widescreen AND Full Screen included (on either side of the disc), movie trailer, plus director commentary and a making-of featurette. Pretty much all you could hope for as regards to special features.

How dare they remake a classic? Tom Savini dared, and he might even have improved on it!

Summary: Better than most Remakes.
Review: The first time, i seen this Remake, i didn`t like it at all. I also had the same problem with Day Of The Dead. Then seen it again, in a couple of years, are starting to Love It. Make-Up artist-Tom Savini, His First Time as a Director, is better than you Expected. The Cast is better than expected Also. Fine performances From Tony Todd(Platoon,Candy Man Series,The Crow,Final Destination) as Ben. Patricia Tallman as Barbara(Stunt Woman in Major Hollywood Films and An Actress, Movies Like-The Knightraiders,Army Of Darkness, Austin Powers:International Man Of Mystery. She Also Know for T.V. show, Including-Babylon 5 and Star Trek:Deep Space Nine.) Tom Towles as Harry Copper. Some of the dialogue been reused from the Original 1968 Film. Only the end is shot by shot. Best thing about the remake is making Barbara-An stronger character than the Original 1968 Film. Ben and Mr.Cooper Characters making them more enemies to each-other than the Original. I loved the different ending also. Some of the film music score is cheap in some scenes. I loved the music, playing in the end credits.

Tom Savini in his audio commentary is fine track but at times, he has nothing to say about it.

On DVD version, Relase by Columbia Pictures. Is the first time on anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) and Pan & Scan. Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround sound is great.

Trivia for fans of the Original and Remake. Barbara-Originally survived in the George A. Romero and John A. Russo Script in The 1968 Version.

George A. Romero wrote the Screenplay of the 1990 Remake. Barbara survive in this one.

Most of the head shot were cut from the MPAA. For saying, it was too violent and graphic was force to cut out for not getting An X rating. But Tom Savini about these heads shots:The less you show, the more is better for the Film. Some of the deleted head shot is include in The DVD.

Eriq La salle(ER)audition for the role of Ben for the remake and Laurence Fishburne(The Matrix) was in the Casting List for the role of Ben. It was Tony Todd read his Script for Five Minutes and Than later audition the Role, Rememeber most of the dialogue, he write and he also have Tears, after reading the emotional scenes. Then Tom Savini liked his audition and tell him, the Search is Over, you got the Part.

Bill Moseley almost Unrecognizable in the film, playing Johnnie. He best known for Playing, one of the family clan in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

Bill`Chilly Billy` Cardille reprise his role as An T.V. Interviewer. Like in the 1968 Original. His daughter is the lead in Day Of The Dead.

Rusell Streiner Co-Produced the Original and the Remake. He Played Johnnie in the 1968 version and The Remake, He played the Cop-Talking to the T.V. interviewer. Unrecognizable with The eye patch.

George A. Romero voice on the Radio. The Scene-Where Ben lock himself to the celler and then he See and killed the undead Helen. Then Ben open and listining to the small radio, he find.

There is a few good remakes out there and Night Of The Living Dead(1990) is one of them. Grade:A-.

Summary: Romero is King and Zombies will never Die
Review: In my opion this is the greatest horror film of all time, and is far superior to the original. This is one of the few remakes that exceeds the original. The reason for this is that George Romero himself wrote the script, and thusly this is more like what he wanted to do. All the terror elements that made the original a success are still here: confusion, fear, chaos, bickering among the main characters, and of course utter desperation. Further more this version is in color! If you thought that the black and white of the original was ment as a statement of some sort you are wrong, Romero simply didn't have enough money for a color version. The acting in this is not the best, but overall is much better than that of the original. Tony Todd is superb as Ben. He makes Ben the most admirable and likeable character in the film. This performence and his performenes in the CandyMan movies cement Todd as one of the best African American actors to work in the often sterotypical genre of horror. The actress whom portrays Barbara is also good. If you have never seen the original dont worry see this one. If you have see this anyway, you'll enjoy it even more. Notld is the mold by which all other horror movies are cut from. Far superior to other more celebrated films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Exorsist. If your are in the mood for a great horror movie strap your self in and get ready for a ride you will never forget, no matter how hard you try.
