Summary: A zombie film with brains!
Review: Some zombie lovers may find that the occasional periods of plot development (including people actually acting!) spoils their enjoyment - but not me! This is a clever film with lots of great scenes. Nicely filmed with a great ending - This film will make you jump!

Summary: wonderful horror film, no spoilers in review
Review: George Romero's third film in the Dead series is brilliant. The setting is excellent and leaves the viewer with the feeling of doom. The musical score is great, too, and it helps add to the major suspense in the film's conclusion. I have seen Dawn of the Dead and comparing these two films, Day of the Dead is much better. The gore effects in day are spectacular and the action scenes are more realistic than Dawn.

Day of the Dead is an apocalyptic film. It's set in the near future where the zombie race outnumbers humans in a ratio of 400,000 to 1. The only humans remaining in Florida are a small group of millitary and scientist personnel holed up in an underground missile silo. There are 8 soldiers and 4 scientists. There's tension between the groups because the military leader, Rhodes, feels that he is wasting his time with the scientists. It pretty talky at the beginning but the dialogue is interesting and it sets up a creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere that Dawn of the Dead lacked.

For the fourth film, it would be a neat idea if Bub taught the zombies the things he learned and the remaining humans have a crisis dealing with intelligent zombies. If Romero does make a fourth film, the characters should be the same from Day of the Dead. As for anyone who hasn't seen the Dead series, don't start with Dawn because it will probably discourage you from watching Night and Day and you shouldn't miss those films.

Summary: greater than Dawn of the Dead
Review: I first watched Dawn of the Dead because of all the good reviews the movie received. I must say, I was disappointed. The storyline was good, but the zombies looked fake, the music was bad, and the blood was orange. Still, the film left me wanting to Day of the Dead. At first I wasn't expecting a very good movie, but after watching it, I must admit: This is a great horror film. The zombies are grotesque and the gore is realistic. The setting is dark and gritty and the actors and actress are believable in their roles. If you are a fan of horror films skip Dawn of the Dead and watch Day of the Dead. The ending is pretty gory although nowhere near as it's said to be. This film leaves me eagerly awaiting the fourth film in the Dead series. If there will be a fourth film, I hope Romero keeps the same characters with a grand plot dealing with the fate of the world.

Summary: Crunch & Munch Finale!
Review: This movie is great if your a dedicated zombie movie fan because the special effects are excellent. Its set in Florida probably somewhere near the everglades, and in this chapter, the Zombies rule the earth with the last few humans battling it out for their lives not only against the walking dead, but against eachother. Only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it dragged in some spots.

Summary: WHAT IS LACKS IN SUBSTANCE, IT MAKES UP FOR IN GORE.
Review: "Night of the Living Dead" was more terryfying. Dawn of the Dead was more satirical and more multiply entertaining. But Day of the Dead is the unquestionalble champion of the gore category. While the plot, and subplot are interesting and provocative, it's clear that Romero's goal in this one was to shock viewers with his attention to detail in how to mutilate humans in graphic detail. If that's your cup of tea (it certainly was mine), than this is your movie. Still, it doesn't capture the horror of the original.

Summary: The Best of the Dead Trilogy
Review: Day of the Dead in my opinion is the best of the "dead trilogy". There are a few scences that are kinnda hard to understand though. Like at the end when Shara wakes up, does that mean that all of that was just a dream or did she just fall asleep on the island they excaped to. This movie graphicaly blew away Dawn of the Dead. the makeup and the Special effects were much better. The acting wasn't TOO bad. the plot was great how they were trying to make the zombies civilized. my personal favorite zombie of the movie is the one they called "Bub". Anyways i think this movie was great.

Summary: Not as good as part one or two, but still fun to watch
Review: This is part three of Night Of The Living Dead. The zombies look a lot like the zombies in the Michael Jackson music video "Thriller." A group of scientists & soldiers work in a underground bunker on a tropical island running tests on zombies in hopes of dissaplining them.

Summary: Something For The Whole Family
Review: This movie had it's good parts, like when...people were being devoured, but as far as the acting goes, it was terrible. I liked the piont though. How the scientist was trying to make the dead become some what smart and make them civil, but he was treating them by giving them flesh of humans. That was twisted! Still, the acting was bad. Dawn of the dead was much better.

Summary: So much more complex than the previous 2
Review: IMHO, Dawn of the Dead looks like peanuts compared to this, and I was a huge Dawn fan. The script is so more mature and in depth you question why Romero hasn't put out another original 'Dead' movie since then. Dawn was just fun, unserious and so innovative, however "Day's" complexity makes Dawn seem childish. Incredible innovations in this one, with beautiful visuals and great spots. Romero said in an interview that he laughs whenever he watches this film, kinda makes you wonder if the next 'Dead' will be a bigger box office draw than Titanic... Well maybe not, but we'll see what goes down with 'Resident Evil'

Summary: Day Of The Dead - Pretty Darn Good
Review: Not the classic that Night Of The Living Dead was. Not as fearsome as Dawn Of The Dead. But still the third best zombie movie out there.

Anchor Bay programmed the running time in for this version, unlike their Dawn Of The Dead.
