Rating: Summary: A let down, with a few redeeming qualities Review: of course, if you're a Dead fan, you MUST have this one, it's the end of the trilogy and MUST be seen. And I'm often amused at how movies that are truly hated by some are the best loved by other. As for me, I was not impressed. When I finally rented it I was so psyched to see how the series turned out, and found myself wanting to fast forward through most of it. There was waaaaaaaay too much military crap, not my thing, and too much arguing between people whom, well, I'll put it this way, you could take sides in the first movie when people didn't get along. In this movie, you just hate everybody. The living are far less lovable than the dead guy they keep as a pet! As for the redeeming qualities, well, there are definitely some disturbing scenes. Not just gore wise, as I rarely find that to be something that improves a movie, but other visuals. Like the beginning, the barren city, that alone was disturbing to see as an opening after having seen the first two films. Then when the zombies emerge, fears are confirmed. The scene where an alligator slides out of one of the buildings amongst the zombies really added to the disturbing quality! There were some truly scary scenes popping up now and them throughout the movie too, and the end, where the few survivors finally make it to that deserted island is a welcome end. I'd like to see a sequel to this one though, I mean, it's still not enough of an ending for me! What happens next? Weren't there any other survivors? There had to be. Or perhaps not, but it would have been even more disturbing to know...or maybe I'm wrong about that....
Rating: Summary: MEDIOCRE TO SAY THE LEAST Review: Yes i agree with others having seen this film i agree that it is the weak link in the masterful DEAD trilogy but hey those hollywood bastards didnt fund him enough to fully show us his magic and vision for this finale hopefully the hollywood hacks get off there buts and give him a ton of money to finish the series were the first one started BREAKING GROUND please George save us from SCREAM AND I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER YOUR OUR ONLY HOPE
Rating: Summary: Repeat of Dawn of the Dead it is. Review: I loved Dawn of the Dead, amusing, disgusting, funny, everything a good movie should be. I went to see Day of the Dead with high expectations and it was a let down. It's gory, but it's just like dawn of the dead only more boring, less interesting, and less funny. I highly reccommend Dawn of the Dead but stear clear of this one. The DVD extras are also very feeble on this one.
Rating: Summary: A disappointment. Review: This is a disappointing finale to Romeros zombie trilogy. The script is tired and silly. Of course this is a must for fans of Night of the Living Dead, but I can't exactly recommend this to anyone else.
Rating: Summary: Same old story line nothing new Review: In this the third and hopefully final one. The dead rule the earth with a group of scientist and un happy military personel in an undergroung base in Florida??? I've lived in Florida 26 years and know the water table is to high to have the massive base this film shows.Anyway the scientist are trying to tame the zombies??But the military wants to destroy them, the sensible thing to do.Well the zombies eventuall get into the base no suprise their and eat all the soliders.Three of thre scientist escape in a helicopter. Romero please get a real job and let the pros make movies.
Rating: Summary: The DEAD TRILOGY rules Review: Day of the Dead is the 3rd movie in the trilogy. The effects are much better than Dawn and Night. But the first two are better. Day is great I loved it, But Nipsey thinks NOTLD and DOTD to be much more exciting. But Day is a good flick and it should be part of your DEAD collection!!!
Rating: Summary: NOT AS GOOD AS DAY OF THE DEAD Review: THis movie was okay too much comedy though.THe zombies was weaker in this one. The actors were horrible.
Rating: Summary: Day of the Dead Review: If you want a good zombie film, this is it. This is one of many zombie films, I chose this film as a good representative of the era. This one hasn't suffered from censoring, though it could have done with some. I really saw someone's eye being torn out slowly. But I am obviously a little sick as I enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Well made flim to the last Romero zombie trilogy. Review: I review this film before and the only reason, what i the film again. Because of the DVD. The picture quatily is Above Average but I thought some of the darker scenes, it`s looks digital, would be Better than the VHS. But again it`s all right. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is pretty good. Anyway John Harrison music, he compose for the film is Above Average. Some excellent Make-Up work from Tom Savini(He directed the fine remake of Night Of The Living Dead.) Writer and Director-George A. Romero is most underrated film to Date. Good Cast for the unknown actors, I did like Lori Cardille(Her Father played The T.V interviewer in Night Of The Living Dead and the Remake.), John Amplas(His Excellent Performance in George A. Romero`s Martin). Joe Pilato(Little Known for playing a Cop in U.S. theartical cut of Dawn of the Dead.Terry Alexander, Joseph Conroy, Antone Dileo and Gary Howard Klar and again Richard Liberty. Am sure Anchor Bay Entertainment are planning to resorted the picture to be much brighter and also the sound. Also an commentary track from the director:Geroge A. Romero and Tom Savini. One of Romero`s best films and also the most underrated one. Grade:A-.
Rating: Summary: Don't eat me before I can watch this again please! Review: This film is truly a masterpiece of zombie movie making. There's more blood, guts and gore in this movie that there is in both of the previous two put together. You have people being ripped in two while shouting at the zombies 'I hope you choke on it!' Referring to his legs that are now being carried away as he watches from a distance! These are the moments you long for in any zombie movie! As for Dr. Logan and his 'star-pupil' called Bub! What can be said from the way that he shoots the semi-bad guy then salutes him. Yep, that's right. A zombie that doesn't have the insticnt to kill just for flesh, but for revenge. On a whole, this movie is excellent for both zombie movie fans and people who just want to have a laugh when they're having a party or friends over. Buy it, you won't be disspointed!
