Review: The one thing each review has left out is the spaceship in which "Flesh" is traveling. It took me 3 times of watching this film, to see the key that was used to start the spaceship, not to mention its shape. If you want a good laugh, watch this film.

Summary: Parodiacal Silliness
Review: This movie is hilarious with numerous sight gags and spoken ones. The eroticism is silly but, fitting to the point Ziehm is making. It is like a NC - 17 version of Saturday Night Live. The picture quality of the DVD is the best it could be for the age and budget of the film. I was disappointed with the special features, or the lack of rather. Also there is no insert in the DVD which left me feeling slightly cheated. This is a good investment if you want laugh at the pure lunacy of this flick.

Summary: This is the original Spoof
Review: This movie is the origianl spoof, others have tried since but this movie has it all. Remember all the old 1950's space type movies with the planets swinging on string in the background? Well this has that too. It has to be watched to be believed. Fantastic... I laughed from beginning to the end. The fine detail is fantastic. Its actually been filmed to appear corny.You cannot go in expecting "Star Wars" here. This is in a league of its own as far as Sci-Fi goes. When this first showed at cinema's people were shocked at some scenes, as they are a bit raunchy, but I feel these help add to the flavour. If you've got an hour and a half to just let your mind go, and don't want to concentrate too much this is great stress reliever.

Summary: Cult movie in every sense of the word
Review: This parody/soft core porn take on Flash Gordon is far from the best piece of film in existence, but it is fun and entertaining nonetheless. The sloppy direction, flat acting, and grainy picture (even on DVD the picture is terrible) help the viewer to not take this film seriously (then again there is no reason why one should), but believe it or not the main attraction here are the stop motion animated creatures that were way ahead of their time. While it is rather slow moving in some parts of the film, and the juvenile sexual inuendos and humor can wear thin from time to time, Flesh Gordon is hysterically funny from beginning to end, and is also a true cult film in every sense of the word.

Summary: truly a cult classic
Review: This was made in a time when nudity was mostly a 'forbidden fruit' and the movie is certainly tongue in check. There is a very light hearted spirit of fun to this movie. I got this to replace my VHS copy of the movie, hoping for more. Alas, it is not a new print, nor did it have new material. This is a fun movie, and inoffensive for most, although some would state it has material to offend most. It is not graphic but has a very light touch. First of all, remember when this movie was made and if you are old enough, you will be able to place it in context of that period of time. If you are not of that generation, or don't want a window into it, skip this DVD. If there was one scene to sum up the spirit of the movie, I would think it is the naked conga line. If you have the special edition VHS tape, the DVD offers little more.
