Summary: A Slice of Americana
Review: When I think about it, KFC couldn't have been too thrilled at the title of this film, but I'm betting it didn't hurt them.
Gross-out humor pretty much began to bloom in the 70s, and this film, along with 'Groove Tube', was the equivilent of 'American Pie' and 'There's Something About Mary' combined; hell, the nude scenes seem almost quaint now, as they would cause an uproar in any modern 'R' film.
Keep your 'Not Another Teen Movie'. I'll watch the best
Samuel L. Bronkowitz has to offer instead; 'That's Armegeddon'.

Summary: I'm not wearing any pants. Film at eleven.
Review: Very funny and outrageous spoof of commercials and movies written by Jerry Zucker, David Zucker, and Jim Abarhams, the guys who brought you Airplane!, Top Secret!, and Ruthless People. I love this movie, and if you love the movies above, you'll love this (if your not offended by excessive nudity, language, and a midget clown whipping 3 girls in bikinis). Good DVD with a pretty long film of behind the scenes home movies, a about 60 picture gallery, funny trailer, and a really good commentary. It also has a neat feature that you can select full screen or widescreen without flipping the disk.

Summary: Rude, hilarious, a must-have!
Review: If you're a fan of the idiot humor Zucker, Abrams and Zucker would later give to the world in the form of the "Airplane!" and "Naked Gun!" movies, then this is a must-own, the raunchy roots of their later humor.
It's not all brilliant, and none of it's tasteful (the infamous "Nesson Oil" ad comes to mind) but, unlike a lot of movies, it IS all funny. That's really all you can ask. Especially interesting; some segments were obviously video transfered to film, and they look quite good. So pop this in and enjoy, it's a riot.

Summary: "You are aware this movie is shown in Feel-Around."
Review: Bar-none, one of the FUNNIEST movies I've ever seen! From the mock Samuel L Bronkowitz movie trailers to the Bruce Lee spoof (Fistful of Yen, SO right on) to the Joy of Sex... they've done it all. This movie goes beyond wrong in many places, and will have you either pissing yourself in laughter or shaking your head in misunderstanding. This is one of those movies you either love or hate (or don't get). Best when watched with a group of people to share in the silliness. The DVD didn't really addmuch other than some nifty director commentary and little known aspects of the film; (i.e., the martial arts training in the director's front yard). If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, this is something to check out. If you liked Airplane!, or even Amazon Women on the Moon (another classsic!) then you should pick this one up!

Summary: So it's old. So it's crude. It's a damn funny film.
Review: Perhaps the best part of Kentucky Fried Movie is "Fistful of Yen", the parody of Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon". I can never look at "Enter the Dragon" the same anymore. These guys pulled of a near perfect send up of the Bruce Lee classic. Years later whenever my friends and I recall "Fistful of Yen" we still crack up. I have to own a copy of this movie just for this one part. It's fantastic!!

Summary: Not even as funny as Airplane!
Review: Well lets not mesh words with this review. Basically, i took a dump in a bowl and ate it and i enjoyed that more than watching this movie. It will make you more retarted every time you watch it. There should be a Surgeon General's warning on the case.

Summary: good movie !!
Review: This is a good movie , but the bruce lee spoof is the best , sometimes the movie lacks but it is a GOOD MOVIE ,not knee slapping humor though .

Summary: Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) d: Landis, John
Review: A dated yet still very funny guerilla comedy. Writers David & Jerry Zucker (Naked Gun (1988) / Top Secret (1984), and Jim Abrahams (Airplane! (1980) became an instant success when this film first hit the treaters. Founded by The Kentucky Fried Theater troupe, this comedy is much in the same vein, but not quite as good as Amazon Women On The Moon (1987). This early John Landis (Animal House (1978) / Blues Brothers (1980) directed picture still achieves big laughs, with a collection of Saturday Night Live (1975) type sketches the picture doesn't get dull fast. A great piece for those interested in the evolution of the careers, of the those involved. Made up of fake commercials, movie previews ['Catholic School Girls in Trouble'], and short plays. Includes a parody of Enter the Dragon (1973) ['A Fist Full of Yen'] in the middle of the film, which goes on a little too long. A morning news show goes horribly wrong, a movie is presented in 'Feel-A-Round' [the second feature is a porno!] '...See respected actor Donald Sutherland as the clumsiest waiter in motion picture history. Watch such characters as Cleopatra Schwartz and Big Jim Slade tickle your funny bone until it has to be removed surgically!...' Some of the pieces are downright hilarious, while others miss the mark completely. Some sketches are funnier after 20 years, only because they offend are politically correct culture even more today than they did in the 1970's. Includes commentary by Landis, Abrahams, and Zucker. On the set home movies, and a behind the scenes photos.

Summary: FUNNY movie that rips apart many 70s shows
Review: I was far too young when this movie came out to remember it. Most of the commercials or other things they make fun of I don't know where the idea came from, as this movie was made in 77, just a few years after I was born.

Still, even if you don't get most of it, the movie is pretty funny. I had been looking for this movie for months and finally found it at a video store out of town.

The opening skit for the Ameco (?) turning grease and other things into fuel was pretty funny, as was the Catholic School Girls In Trouble..., the rip of Bruce Lee movies, ... and finally, the courtroom scene was really funny.

Like I say, I was too young to know where many of those commercials came from, but even if you don't know and just watch the skits, they really hammered on many different shows.

For their first movie, they did a great job!

The other two scenes that I remember being really funny was the question about "what if zinc didn't exist" ....

Anyway, for fans of Airplane, Naked Gun, Baseketball, and the other Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker (ZAZ) movies, you definitely need to check this out.

Even though its pretty old, its raw and plain funny.
