Summary: Hilarious
Review: Hilarious. I've laughed louder and harder at very few movies like I laughed at this. Well written and acted, and the dialogue is second to none. The big movie studios dont understand that intelligence in the audience exists, and the success of Clerks proves it. Plus, Kevin Smith is from the 80's generation, and gre up on John Hughes films like most of us, and makes his characters just as witty, and even vulgar, but funny vulgar. He proves that talking about sex is always dirtier than seeing sex.

Summary: Extras plus durability of DVD make it worth owning
Review: The higher quality of DVD does nothing to enhance the technical aspects of what was quite proudly a low-budget film, but the fact that DVD doesn't wear out or need rewinding make the medium an obvious choice for die-hard Clerks fans. In addition, this disc includes longer versions of many scenes and the infamous original ending, all with audio lead-ins by writer/director Kevin "Silent Bob" Smith. As a whole, these extras don't really add too much to the experience, but again, Clerks is a great, fun movie, so the standard benefits of DVD ownership make this disc worthwhile, even if just for the ability to jump to favorite scenes at will.

Summary: Blisteringly Funny!
Review: Easily one of the funniest movies ever made. Each character (especially Randall) delivers some of the most scorching lines you will EVER here in a movie. Be careful! Watch it once, and you may become hooked (not only to this flick, but all of Kevin Smith's other projects)... I watched it three times the first night I rented it way back in '95, and then bought it shortly thereafter...

Summary: An Outstanding Debut from Kevin Smith!
Review: For a movie that was made for no money has become one of the most popular indie films ever made!! Dante and Randal the stars of the film are perfect together, and have excellent chemistry, and comedic timing. The language is not for the tame, or timid, but it seems pretty accurate to me so the faint hearted be warned. The film explores the customers that they must endure on a day to day basis while spending their lives working at the Quick Stop, and RST Video. From insane requests of cold coffee, and nudie books in the restroom to which film was better Return of the Jedi, or Empire Strikes Back (Empire!!!). Dante, and Randal carry on, and try to solve the world's problems, and their own in this first installment of the Jersey Films Trilogy. Buy it, rent it, or (as Jay would do) steal it. Enjoy it for what it is, and leave it at that.

Summary: The First, but not the best
Review: All right, I would love to say I enjoyed this movie throughly. But unfortunately, I can't. This was...well...not really all that good. Dont' get me wrong, Kevin Smith is brilliant, but the humor was just too dark in this first movie. Later on, in his other movies, Kevin really lets his true self shine, but if you're looking for a good movie to start your obsession of ViewAskew Productions, don't start with this one.

Summary: The one that started it all
Review: If you have EVER worked behind the counter, this movie is for you. Clerks is one of the funniest, best written movies I have ever seen. The comedy is so true to real life. I don't know how many times I thought to myself 'That is so true!' during the flick. This film is a must for any fans of Dogma, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, or Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. This is Episode I - where it all began.

Summary: If You Have Ever Worked As A Clerk, This Movie Is For You!
Review: For all of you who are familiar with Kevin Smith and his work, let me say that I know that this DVD is expensive, but believe me, it is well worth it for the directors commentary alone (which is hilarious, featuring a drunk Jason Mewes aka: Jay), not to mention the original ending. For all of you who are not familiar with this movie or Kevin Smith, if you like comedy flicks, have worked as a clerk or both, you will definately enjoy this movie. I work overnight at a truck stop in Pennsylvania, and my co-workers and I have quoted lines from this movie several times a day; most notably "This job would be great if it wasn't for the _______ customers". This is not a big money Hollywood flick. This is an independant, black and white movie, and the first of what would later be refered to as "The Jersey Trilogy" (Clerks, Mallrats & Chasing Amy). Clerks is a stripped down, raw comedy that will leave you laughing every time you see it. If you currently or have ever in your life worked as a clerk, you absolutely must see this movie. You will definately identify with some situations ("How much is this, anyway?").

Summary: I'm not even supposed to be here today!
Review: Clerks is the start of my favorite series of movies ever, The New Jersey Chronicles (can't be called trilogy cause of Dogma and Strikes Back.)Although the movie is filmed in B/W it is still very funny. Smith's dialouge is very present here, and that is always a good thing. All 4 movies are tied for 1st in my book for different reasons. See this movie, and enjoy the infamous dead guy in the bathroom bit. Can't wait for Strikes Back!

Summary: The Perfect Egg...
Review: Kevin Smith burst onto the scene with this foul-mouthed independent film. He acted as writer/director on a very small budget and even co-stars as Silent Bob in this, the first of five movies in the "New Jersey Trilogy" (What Smith lacks in math, he makes up for in dialogue). Shot entirely in shaky, grainy black and white, CLERKS is a truly confident film, never trying to be any more than what it is. And any film with OLAF the Russian Metalhead singing "BERSERKER" is okay in my book. The DVD is a re-issue of the loaded laser disc from many years ago and the transfer cannot be truly judged since the master film quality is so questionable itself. It includes a funny commentary (light on content, heavy on teasing), cut scenes, an alternate ending and a great music video.
