Rating: Summary: Nice presentation Review: I'm always a little wary of "budget" products such as this, but this is a well-done DVD. The label said the film was in color, and I said "uh-oh", but it isn't. It's the best presentation of the film I've seen. Parts of it are a bit ragged, but for the most part the image is sharp and looks fine, especially considering the mediocre VHS tapes I've screened. The interview with Corman and Shatner is enjoyable, and Shatner tells a very funny story regarding an incident that occurred during the filming. Three other trailers are included (not one for this film though) and are in less-than-stellar quality -none of them made me want to seek out the films they were selling. "The Intruder" is a gem of a film. The use of mostly local people gives the movie a realistic look. Although it is somewhat dated, it's still a superb film that has held up well.

Rating: Summary: FINALLY FOUND IT!! Review: I've finally found the special DVD edition for this movie!! I havent seen it yet, but nevertheless my hometown(charleston missouri) is where the movie was filmed.. my uncle claims he was an extra in the film so im excited on finally getting a copy, but i must say its a tad bit weird to have Corman direct a film in my hometown and i cant wait to hear the reason why..

Rating: Summary: where were you in '62? Review: If this production had had name stars, a big budget, and fancy production values, it would have nowhere near the impact that this movie has. Shatner does a beautiful job as the oily "social reformer" Adam Cramer, who knows just what buttons to push to get people to do his bidding (or at least he thinks he does). Great supporting cast and great writing; but note that the dialogue doesn't shy away from "realism", Beaumont knew that if it did, it would destroy the effects of the film. But this really should be seen...it's as timely now as it was 40 years ago. (Also, compare Shatner/Cramer's public speaking style with that of a well-known German political speaker of the 1930s-40s).

Rating: Summary: corman and shatner have a film to be proud of Review: knocking both this director and actor is too easy. but, they both have a remarkable work they did together on their resume and that is the Intruder, aka I Hate Your Guts or any of the other various titles. this was wayyyy ahead of its time and as Corman likes to joke the only film he made which inintially lost money. and oh, SHATNER CAN ACT! buy this NOW! You wont be dissapointed. as poignant and powerful today as it was 40 years ago.
Rating: Summary: Superlative, too-little-known film. Review: Many of the finest minds associated with the Twilight Zone...Chuck Beaumont, George Clayton Johnson, even William Shatber (star of 2 of the best episodes)...collaborated with Roger Corman of all people to make this very valuable, very well-done film about the Civil Rights movement in the early '60's South. Even today, after 40 years, this movie delivers chills and conveys a powerful and important message. Shatner proves he can act.
