Summary: a true psychadelic classic
Review: I grew up on this movie. As soon as it was out on VHS, I bought it & wore out the tape. Luckily, I won't have the same problem w/the DVD. The movie itself is, as always, a trippy delight filled w/ahead of it's time wit & smarts. The DVD extras are nice, & the 'behind the scenes' piece was particularly interesting. Every Beatles fan needs this DVD!

Summary: Drenched in dazzling colors and wonder
Review: Truly capturing the sense of endless possibilities and unfettered imagination that characterized the best of the 60's, "Yellow Submarine" is a joyful trip indeed. And you could have no better tour guides than the Fab Four themselves ... or their iconic representations, at least! I'm sure some of this seems silly and naïve to many viewers today, discovering it for the first time - but that's precisely what's so wonderful about it, and all that it encompasses - the willingness to take chances, be silly, be ridiculous, be absurd, without caring what anyone else thinks. A marvelous potpourri of animation, countless cultural references, puns and wordplay, all tied together with a bright, beautiful bouquet of a soundtrack. All aboard!

Summary: BUY IT BEFORE YOU CAN'T!
Review: Just look at the number of reviews for this one. It is a real gem. Baby boomers should wean their children on this one.

I have all of the Beatle's movies on video tape and most on laser disk. Let It Be and Yellow Submarine are the two most scarce. They came out on laser disk but were not popular. Get this one before it become a "Hard Day's Night" to find it if you know what I mean!

Right Jeremie?

"Logsign, clogsign, big thingumybob. Some chewing gum will do the job. A turn of the screw and all is... and all is new!"

Review: This movie is very funny and exciting. With all the Beatles playing songs and meeting new friends, I think this is the best Beatles movie!

Summary: Gear!
Review: I have always loved the Beatles and thier music and they had a great influence on me. And this film has always been one of my perinnal favorites. It's a classic; wonderfully done at a very low amout of bread (only $1 million!) and the script is very inventive and charming. The colors are rich, trippy n psychedelic; and the remastering of the music is remarkable. You can't really describe it in detail, you'll have to experience it for yourself.

Summary: Absolutely terrific and the fab-gearest
Review: They won't allow me to award more than five stars! A gem from the half-forgotten world of the psychedelic Sixties, starring those longhaired lads from Liverpool who, naturally, must save the world from the nasty music haters. Gentle allegory, playful punfest, and trippy music video all rolled into one; like The Wizard of Oz, this is a great film for the young and the young at heart alike. Buy this for your little kids when they ask who the Beatles were, and they'll thank you. For those of us who sailed through these Monstrous Seas with the Fabs, all those years ago, this movie is like a wind from another time and place, holding the echoes of the past, which never die.

Oh -- the DVD version is pretty dang nifty. Finally pushed me into taking the format plunge. Can I send the bill for my player to Apple?

Summary: A Classic!
Review: First of all, please get the DVD (buy a DVD player if you have too, it's worth it!). Once you've got that done, you're made in the shade!

This is THE BEST of the Beatles movies by far. First of all, the music. It's great, and ten billion times better digitally remastered and sounds great on a DVD system. You really need either fifty different speakers hidden around your living room (or headphones, for the financially challenged, like me) to truly appreciate the sound.

Second, the art. It's amazing, I've never seen anything like it since. It's even more amazing in it's restored clarity. It's very 60s!

Third, the story. Very trippy and freeflowing, reminiscent of "Alice in Wonderland". It's filled with little jokes and puns to keep you on your toes.

Finally (and the reason I got it), it's got "Hey Bulldog"! This segment alone is worth $25. It's also got several other restored sequences, plus your usual DVD extras (trailers, documentary, interview). Another cool feature is you can watch the movie with music only. It's amazing!

Nothing quite like it, do yourself a favor and get this one. Don't forget the songtrack too! It's got all the songs featured in the movie in remastered form.

Summary: Scariest movie ever!
Review: This movie really scared me. Nothing made sense, and the Beatles were freaky. This caused all sorts of nightmares for me, with one of Paul killing and eating me, but that's a different story. I figure this was written on an acid trip, and you can tell. BE CAREFUL!

Summary: Great for Kids, Too!
Review: I am too young to have seen this film in the theater, but I was about 4 1/2 when I saw it on TV. It blew me away then, and I still enjoy it now.

I recently purchased the video for my 4 year old daughter, hoping she would like it as much as I did. I think she liked it more! The songs have improved her counting skills and vocabulary; but what I like best is that there is minimal violence shown. Our heroes defeat the Blue Meanies without resorting to violence at all. That can't be said about most "G" rated films anymore. There are also many one-liners that I never understood as a kid, but do so now, making the film as fresh as if it was brand-new to me.

Summary: Beatles in 5.1. . . . CAN'T BE BEAT!
Review: WOOOOOOOOOW! Being young (17) I completely missed out on all the Beatles stuff, much to my dismay. And even though the voices in Yellow Submarine aren't the true Beatles, it's still a GREAT movie with weird, fantastic animation. But the best part of the whole thing is that DVD has that 5.1 surround sound. When I first heard it, it sounded kind of weird. But then I realized it was just another perspective on the same stuff. If you listen to the CD (stereo sound) and then this, it makes a huuuuuuuuuuuuge difference. Even if you don't like the movie, it is worth every cent to have the Beatles songs it features in 5.1 surround sound.

The movie rocks, the quality rocks, and the music blows your mind away!
