Summary: Great
Review: I actually didn't see this on video, but in a theater a couple weeks ago. I happened to see a poster in one movie theater saying that "Yellow Submarine" was playing at another theater in the chain. If it weren't for that poster, I wouldn't have known, because they did not advertise the movie in the paper at all. They must have figured, "The movie is out on video at the same time it's in the theater, why advertise the theater showing?" But they should have! I can't tell you how great it was to see it in a theater with an audience. When "Nowhere Man" started, my impulse was to sing out loud with the movie, something I've NEVER felt the impulse to do in a movie theater before, but I restrained myself. But I was thrilled to hear a guy behind me who couldn't restrain himself, and he started singing along! That's how contagious the music is, and how seeing it with an audience makes a great movie even greater. And the best thing was the end, when the Beatles themselve appear on screen, and start the audience in a singalong with "All Together Now." The audience started singing and clapping along. It was GREAT! When you see the last bit on TV, think of how it's intended for theater audiences, and what that would add to it. The movie itself was better than I'd remembered. I remember seeing it (On TV) years ago, and thinking the last bit went on too long. But I didn't get that feeling this time. Perhaps the new "Hey Bulldog" sequence made the movie seem shorter (even though it made the movie longer. Odd? Laurence Olivier relates in his book ON ACTING how a friend told him to cut a scene from one of his Shakespeare movies, and he told his friend that doing so would make the movie seem LONGER. But he cut the scene for one screening especially for his friend, and afterwards his friend said, "Oliver, you're right. Making the movie shorter made it seem longer. Put the scene back in." And Olivier did.) And the music in "Yellow Submarine" is astounding. Like all great art, time passing doesn't make the art seem dated, but rather adds weight to it, and makes it better than ever. (The Mona Lisa likely moves us more than it did people in Da Vinci's day). So is it with this music. Incidentally, I heard and saw Ringo Starr sing "Yellow Submarine" in concert in L.A. a few months ago, and it was GREAT, almost religious, to hear a Beatle sing a classic Beatles song. (incidentally, Ringo maybe a drummer, but he makes a great front man. He did a great concert, something I wasn't expecting. I just thought I'd enjoy seeing a Beatle in the flesh. But he really is a great showman. See him if you can. He's putting out a new album of X-mas tunes. Hopefully he'll tour to support its release). Also, when Ringo sang "A Little Help From My Friends," everyone waved their hands back and forth, but I just happened to be in a seat that was raised higher than everyone else's, and when I stood and waved my hands back and forth, Ringo waved at me!! At ME, folks!! Anyway, one of the great things about the movie "Yellow Submarine," is that it's a movie adults and kids can enjoy together (how many animated movies make references to Einstein's theory of relativity? Leave it to the metaphysically-minded Beatles to have such a thing in THEIR animated film).

Summary: YELLOW SUB IS A COOL FILM WITH WILD ANIMATION
Review: I sell Yellow Sub animation art cels that were used to make this video, and we use this to trace the cels to check which scene they appeared in. Wacky adventure with the Fab Four!

Summary: Crayola, take notes!!!
Review: This was a solid movie from a solid musical group! I loved everything about from the yellow VHS packaging to the wonderfully, done colors throughout the movie. My favorite scene was the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds sequence. Also George's music really stood out. "It's All Too Much'' even sounded like something you'd hear with all of the rock-dance hybrids out now. The story was a bit slow but for me, a 31-year-old Beatle fan from Georgia. But I eventually abandoned all of the learned cynisism from watching movies like the Prince of Eygpt and Pocohantas and simply allowed myself to have a good time with great music and throbbing visuals. I also loved the puns. Very punny movie.

Summary: Watch out for Blue Meanies
Review: If you don't love this film totally, than you are subconsciously a BLUE MEANIE. The Beatles may not have had much to do with the making of the film but it would never have been made without their music. America watch out, this may happen to you. Long live PEPPERLAND!

Summary: NOTHING IS REAL - THE BEATLES - YELLOW SUBMARINE
Review: My all-time favorite Beatles movie. CLASSIC example of pop-art in movie form. Although the Beatles DO NOT lend their voices or had anything to do with the film's production, they do appear briefly in the end and produced the film's exiciting music soundtrack. Again 5 STARS and TWO THUMBS-UP to the FAB FOUR.

Review: Simply stunning. You're neck'll be sore from constantly craning your head around the room following the Love Glove's sound. The remastering is probably the finest on any project to date. I can't say enough about how unbelievable this DVD is!

Review: I watch this movie over and over..... I still find new things every time I watch it. I can't find one bad thing about this movie. The new "Hey Bulldog" sequence is a definite plus (it helps the story line quite a bit). Why it was cut from the US version remains a mystery to me, it's on the US soundtrack LP.

This film still has the impact it must of had in the '60s. I'm only 14, and this movie has changed the way I look at the world. This film has what must have been some of the most difficult animation ever produced. Other kids my age will think the animation is bad, they obviously have never tried to make a cartoon before. I have, it's hard. This has to be the best G-rated film ever. This flim should be showed at an international peace conference. The delevers a powerful message: Find peace with your enimies, don't just destroy them.

A little funny thing though, I have the VHS copy, and on my copy the stereo left and right audio tracks are reversed. When I watch the film, I have to change the wiring on my VCR. (I would have gotten the DVD, except I do not have a DVD player). If anyone else notices that about their VHS copy, please e-mail me. I want to know if this is just my copy, or if this is every copy.
