Rating: Summary: Ricki & Debby & Divine = trash-o-rama Review: This has got to be one of the trashiest films ever! My favourite sceneis when debby harrys hair explodes in the final scenes, i keptrewinding so much i wore out the tape. This is a must for waters trash collectors , or just fans of the actors that have gone places since this movie , or lack thereof
Rating: Summary: A Hair Hoppin' Good Time! Review: This movie has a sort of Grease feeling to it. Early 60s, big hair, and great classic rock music! Ricki Lake is just 'the bomb' in this movie. She really showed the overweight people that being that way doesn't change who you are. Also, Debbie Harry was just awesome! She is funny and I really love her in Blondie. The rest of the cast is great and if you get the chance, see this movie. It also deals with integration and segregation and the 'bad guys' really get it in the end. It is a good story and gives a good message. LET'S DANCE!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, my absolute favourite film debbie harry is ace Review: The film is really good its worth a look even if your not into this sort of thing. Divine and Riki lake are brillianty and Mr pinky is really funny. John Waters is THE master of trash
Rating: Summary: Funny! Review: OK. My friend kept talking and talking about this movie called didn't sound like that good of a movie to me...just stupid, wannabe comedy. But when I saw like 1/2 of it on TV, I was laughing so much! I'm gonna rent it soon. I love how Ricki Lake is like FAT in the movie. She sure has changed. I reccomend this to ANYONE who likes funny movies!!!
Rating: Summary: MASTERPIECE Review: Is there a more perfect movie? When is it going to be on DVD? I see this movie every few months and love it every time. Tracy Turnblat is my goddess.Mr. Waters, how about a DVD with director's commentary? Extra scenes?
Rating: Summary: Far superior to "American Grafitti" Review: Why do I say that? Because, while "Grafitti" gave us an affectionate look at youth and the approaching loss of innocence, "Spray" does the same with so much more insight into social hypocracy. It also tauts the perseverence and courage of social outcasts to see beyond all the baloney and still shine. Great, thoughtful satire which never loses itself by taking itself too seriously. This one holds up.
Rating: Summary: Can I give more than 5 stars? Review: In short, the best movie that John Waters has ever made. I love it so much, I watch it every day. I never get tied of the jokes, the humor that has made me laugh for so long.
Rating: Summary: this movie had me rofl & lmao, it is hilarious. Review: riki lake does a great acting job in this movie and the hilarious dances will have you getting out of yor seat and doing the roach.( squish squash kill that roach) it was amazingly funny!!!!
Rating: Summary: The best film on the shelf Review: O.K, we'll start from the begining, when you are young and innocent and you see a film which 'sophisticated humour' you find it ammusing. It is a fact of life that 90% of the time children will laugh at something that they don't get, adults will laugh too but with the difference that they understand. That probably makes no sense but what i was refering to was myself. When i was about 4 or 5 i saw Hairspray and did not understand the whole racism/fattism moral but knew i liked it because it was bright and colourfull and debbie harry's hair blew of at the end. So Hairspray has done about as much for equal rights as Baywatch has for plastic surgery (My guess is that Baywatch has done alot for plastic surgery but that's a whole new concept) but no one really cares because it has an all star cast, fantastic script and wonderfull soundtrack which i am proud to own. In all honesty there is nothing i would ever change about this film.
Rating: Summary: the most fun you can have with hair products Review: HARISPRAY is one of the best comedies ever made. Not only is the cast more than perfect, the music, subject, and everything else is gravy on the mashed potatoes. Even if you havn't seen it yet, BUY IT... I promise you won't be disappointed.
