Rating: Summary: Fun for all ages Review: Subtle humor appeals to the adults, not-too-subtle "potty humor" to appeal to the older children and a timeless story about a princess in distress, although with a bit of a twist. Overall, a fun movie, one oyu can watch over & over again.
Rating: Summary: Good movie for people of all ages. Review: After buying the DVD and watching it, I couldn't help liking it even thought it was geared towards little children with the fairy tale story and all. It had a hilarious story line with the combination of all your favorite fairy tales with the new fairy tale princess and her ogre "knight in shining armor". I won't ruin the story by reveiling the plot so I just leave it at that. The computer animations used to make this movie was one of the best I've ever seen (with the exception of Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within).
Rating: Summary: not as good Review: I went to see this movie when it first came out and I was very disappointed!!!! I just bought the DVD and it had a few extras that were neat, But I was still disappointed with the movie. I only bought it becasue my kids loved it. I believe Monsters, Inc will be much better being it a Disney/Pixar movie!!
Rating: Summary: Our whole family loved it! Review: This movie was great! My family watched it for the first time last night and we all loved it! My kids are 4 and 3 and have a short attention span, but this movie had them glued to the tube and had us all laughing. I definently recommend it to anyone who has kids as well as anyone who is a kid at heart them- selves.
Rating: Summary: Funny movie! About the sticker.... Review: Hey everyone! My first review and I 'm using it to tell every how to remove sticker glue. If you happened to take the entire sticker off of the DVD of Shrek, fear not. Just take something else with a sticky back,(like another sticker) and place it on the glue, and pull on the sticker. Do it as many times as you have to. It works great. It will be smooth and glossy. The only thing you`ll have left is the square indent from the original sticker. By the way, Shrek was a very funny movie, I recommend it! Go rent it or buy it! Bye!
Rating: Summary: Shrek kicks butt! Review: This is a great movie. Everyone can laugh at anything, from the strange characters such as Donkey, to the funny jokes that all the characters make. Shrek is a great DVD to get, because it comes with 2 discs, all loaded with TONS of special features, including Shrek's Karaoke Party, which is a MUST see. This movie is an overall classic! You GOTTA see this!
Rating: Summary: Unfairytale.. Review: Shrek was fantastic! The animation is cutting edge realistic! Shrek puts a twist on happily ever after! Fine for kids, but great for the young at heart.
Rating: Summary: Shrek is lightharted and funny with a big heart. Review: Dreamworks second computer animated adventure is by far much more advanced then Ants , with a cast like Eddie Murphy,Cameron Diaz ,Mike Myers and Jhon Lithgow how can you go wron with this comical fantasy adventure , Mike Myers brings out a comical and touching side to the green ogre Shrek who just want's people to accept him for who he is.A furry mouthy Donky who is delighfully played by none other then Eddie Murphy who is just called Donkey. Who accompanys Shrek on a quest from Lord Farquadd played by the funny Jhon Lithgow , Shrek want's his land back after winning a tourniment Farquadd tells him that he will have his land back the way it was if he rescues Princess Fiona a firey tomboyish woman who hides a secret at night that turns her into an ugly ogre and when Shrek and her fall in love , she does not want to reveal her secret Fiona is played by Cameron Diaz who gives her a touch of a little bit of her own self. The computer animation is second only to Disney's Monsters Inc. and the tounge in cheek humor is much diffrent then anything Disney has come up with wich makes Shrek all the more unique. The DVD has over 11 hours of content wich is along the lines of the two disk Snow White DVD trailers , story boards , charachter interveiws , the making of this fairy tale spoof because that is what Shrek is and much more to this huge two disk set , a funny fantasy film that is lighthearted and well made , so pick this one up your whole family will enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Great addition to regular fairytale Review: What a great movie! After all the hype, I was worried that I'd be disappointed, but no way! This movie was so witty, and so smart - you almost forgot that you were watching animation... I was totally impressed with the cast, and everything else that made this movie totally fun! Rent it, buy it, whatever...just make sure that you see it! It's fun for all ages!
Rating: Summary: A great message for girls Review: I agree with everyone who has lauded the technical artistry of this movie; there is nothing I can add to the admiration everyone feels who sees this film. One thing I haven't heard anyone mention yet, however, is the wonderful message it sends to girls or to anyone who has ever felt less than a perfect "10." To say more might jeopardize the ending, so suffice it to say that this tale is a twist on the beauty and the beast theme, but has the courage on more than one level not to bale out at the end and pretty the beast up to conform to superficial ideals of romantic love. The movie dares us to accept ourselves as we are and to see women as equals to men. Fiona is quite capable of taking care of herself, thank you very much, and doesn't have to look like, well, like Cameron Diaz to be worthy of love. I was also very impressed by Mike Myers's performance as Shrek. He completely loses himself in the character; he's at once gruff and vulnerable, and at no time does he grandstand for a cheap laugh. This is a tale with staying power; one that the whole family can enjoy.
