Summary: NUTTY 2,NOT MADE TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY
Review: What movie were these people watching? They couldn't have been watching Nutty Professor 2.This was one of the funniest movies of the year.I laughed the entire time I was in the theatre. I thought this movie was hysterically funny. I laughed so hard that a few times I had to stop eating my popcorn for fear of choking! Murphys performance in the movie was amazing. The character that stood out the most was that of the grandmother, which Mr Murphy says he based on his own actual grandmom. What a HOOT she was. Sure it had some far fetched moments, like the hamster scene for instance. That could have been left on the cutting room floor, but other then that I thought the movie was a good time.I don't know why all of these so called critics have been giving this movie such a bad review. I thought Eddie Murphy did an excellent job playing all of these different characters. You actually thought they were all different actors. As for "JANET" Miss Jackson if you're nasty! I thought she gave great support. A lot of the so called critics have stated that they didn't know that Ms. Jackson could act. I guess they seem to have forgotten that she was an actress before she became a singer. Remember Good times? Back to Eddie Murphy. Again I felt that his performance was top notch and very, very funny. I highly reccomend this movie for his die hard fans. It reminds one of his Saturday night live days. Just go to see this movie with the thought that this is just a comedy and shouldn't be taken to seriously like so many critics do. They already have their little mind made up before they actually go see the film which is totally unfair to say the least. I bet you that if JIM CARREY had played this role, they would have ruled it as the second coming.... The movie was funny, Bottom line.. Go see it! Great job Mr. Murphy!

Summary: Disappointing Sequel
Review: I really like watching Eddie Murphy's movies, and when the opportunities arise that let you see him on screen doing two or more characters, such as "Coming to America", and "The Nutty Professor", and "Bowfinger", I'm in heaven. Not only is Murphy playing most of the main characters, after awhile you don't realize it, because the editing is so seamless, and Murphy develops his characters so well, that you come to love them for their individual idiosyncrasies. However, the plot for this sequel was unbelievable, and very disappointing.

Gone is Sherman's previous love interest Miss Purty played by Jada Pinkett Smith, only to be replaced by Denise played by Janet Jackson, who should stick to singing. As their love grows she agrees to meet his family, and the dinner table scene ensues. Been there, done that in the original, only the gas is a little more flamable.

Meanwhile, as the top professor in his chemistry lab, Sherman is developing a youth serum. However, he can't get Buddy Love out of his head, and he and his colleague find a gene in his DNA that is actually Buddy, and Sherman extracts it, thinking once he gets rid of Buddy his life will return to normal. That is until Buddy re-evolves into himself and wrecks havoc on Sherman and his university by stealing the youth serum. You think that plot line was bad, but what really made this movie over the top was the giant hampster. The only saving grace for this movie was Randy Granny, played by Murphy, and the outtakes you see during the credits. Please stick with the original, the sequel was very disappointing.

Summary: Bad Eddie Murphy Sequel
Review: I've never really been a fan of Eddie Murphy's. But must admit I did enjoy the first remake of the Nutty Professor. When I heard about the making of a sequel,I was expecting trouble. A lot of people, including myself, just seemed to be turned off by sequels. The ONLY purpose of any sequel is to make more money! Sequel are just retreads of their predecessors. And,of course,I knew this going into this movie. I can't begin the explain how disappointed I was and still am with this movie. Everyone seems to be talking about the special effects in the movie, but wait a minute,WHAT ABOUT THE JOKES! Sure, I guess if you really think about it,it is kinda amzing how Murphy was able to play 7 or 8 roles. And to see them all in one scene! But,10 minutes later, after those thoughts leave your head, the next thing you'll start to wonder about is..."Why did I pay to see this?" A very unfunny movie sequel or not. Really lacking any wit whatsoever. And for all of Murphy's accomplishments he still turns in a mundane performances at best. It's only Larry Miller who managed to put a smirk on my face..and is the only good thing to come out of the movie. But does it make any sense to go see a Eddie Murphy vehicle for a supporting character? I think not. It's best to just wait to this movie comes on cable. I hope they don't make another one!

Summary: Funny, but will never beat the first!
Review: "Nutty 2" had it's moments. It wasn't as good as the first but the laughs were definetly there. Mostly same jokes as the first, but in different ways. This is a kind of movie that you only see once or twice, but you know what, everyone has a different opinion!

Summary: **The Klumps - Pretty Funny**
Review: 'The Klumps' was a funny movie, as expected to be. Janet Jackson surprised me with her acting skills. Eddie Murphy was good as always. I am stunned on how he played SEVEN characters. The make-up is fantastic ;oP The movie was sad and funny, as was the first one.

I was surprised on how they made Grandma Klumps personality. She was very 'explicit.' This film was more dirty then the other.

As always, the movie plot was kind of dumb. It was predictable too. But the point is, is that the movie made you laugh. I give it only 3 stars because the plot was weak. However, the comedy made up for it.

Summary: Eddie is incredible!
Review: This is a must see movie! Very funny. The charactors are so believable. Janet was sweet:-). The people in the movie theater clapped at the end.

Summary: Predictable and dissapointing
Review: It seems to me that there isn't much around anymore by way of real comedy. These days, there's almost always the obligatory love interest and some sort of weepy scene at the end when the music can swell and the audience can yawn - you know what I mean. Think of someone like Jim Carrey. 'The Cable Guy', 'Me, Myself and Irene', they're all essentially the same film about the tortured (but hilarious!) loser who ends up finding love after all. Adam Sandler does the same thing. Even Jim Varney (Ernest Goes to x) got in on the act. And now Eddie Murphy has joined their ranks.

And that's not the only convention he falls for. After comedies in the late '90s brought the phrase 'over the top' to new heights, it's impossible to make a solid, successful comedy unless you push the revulsion factor to the point that almost noone can watch. Witness a film like 'Scary Movie' in which the infamous hair tonic from 'There's Something About Mary' becomes a geyser of seminal fluid and you can't help but think of how far a film will go to hide the fact that it's just another predictable money grabber - in The Klumps, it's a giant hamster firing football size dung pellets out of it's rear like a cannon. The film makers were even kind enough to provide us a close up of that action.

As someone seriously interested in the movies as well as a life long fan, The Klumps just left me depressed. What happened to the guys like Robin Williams or Monty Python? What happened to making a film that was so damn funny that you couldn't keep the people away if you tried? Sure Woody Allen is still around and he may come back soon with something to get me out of the comedic melancholy, but his best films are probably behind him. Jackie Chan is probably the only guy that gives me real hope in the immediate future of the funny man - the guy that doesn't have to resort to sappy sentimentality and predictable raunch, that can come up with a funny idea and carry it off masterfully.

I know, I know, you're saying "Hey, this is supposed to be a film review - get to the film!" Okey dokey:

Murphy reprises his role as the corpulent Professor Klump who, this time around, comes up with an anti-aging potion. The family figures large, especially the grandmother, in this disappointing sequel. Janet Jackson co-stars and her songs figure large in the soundtrack, of course. Her role is mostly to wear Adidas sweatsuits and a push up bra.

The Klumps reside in a different world than we live in. In their world, it's the brain of a possible mate that makes a first impression on a gorgeous, nubile young woman. The good looking, entertaining guy (Buddy Love again) is so offensive that the rest of the cast has to shield their ears from his shrill, screaming laugh (so did this reviewer). Meanwhile grandma's horrifically explicit sex talk is giggled under the rug. And everyone has gas. And everyone thinks it's funny.

That's the movie in a nutshell and it should be a really big, really depressing hit with all the teenagers out there. Kill me now.

Summary: Has its moments, but the first was better
Review: What I found great about this movie was Eddie Murphy being able to play so many characters and when they were put together on screen it looked absolutely seamless. As for the movie itself, I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would, mainly because most of the jokes were child like humour, lots of fart and anatomy jokes which have been done before. Although, some outakes with the giant hampster were really funny. My recommendation is to wait for this to come out on video and see it then.
