Summary: The original Wayans spoof.
Review: This movie was out waaay before DON'T BE A MENACE and SCARY MOVIE and is probably better than both of them. This time, it's the blaxploitation movies of the 70s such as SUPAFLY and SHAFT that are being spoofed.

Isaac Hayes and Jim Brown as Hammer and Slammer are just great. Damon Wayans and Kadeem Hardison as two bumbling thugs are one of the funniest aspects of the movie. Then there's the cameo by Chris Rock...probably the funniest scene in the whole movie. Keenan's performance is also really good...I just wish he'd make more appearances in his current movies.

The sight gags and the irreverent references to these 70s films are hilarious. Even if you haven't seen them and just have a general idea of what they're about, you'll still enjoy this movie. This is a must see for any spoof fan.

Review: Very fuuny flick. This may be Chris Rock's first appearance in a movie. Check him out when he goes to the dinner to order some food.

Summary: Funny Stuff from the Wayans Kids!!
Review: Very, very funny! Much funnier than I remember it first time around. Put all of that politically correct nonsense on hold and have a ball with Issac Hayes, Bernie Casey and Jim Brown as they lampoon their tough, '70s black action hero personas. Some of the comedy borders on cartoonish (like Jim Brown's throbbing big toe) and there are a couple of in-jokes for those in the know. I don't see how these wonderful black actors kept a straight face doing this movie, but Bernie Casey nearly loses it at one time. Watch his face as he tells Keenen Ivory Wayans:"That's my theme music. Every black hero should have some!" He nearly laughs. It's contagious. Also great is the bit where Jack Slade (Wayans) picks up the gorgeous chick in the bar and takes her to his room. Watch what happens after Mr "12 Inches" makes his confession. Also Antonio Fargas is priceless as he recites a poem at the "Pimp-Of-The-Year" awards and check out the hats worn in John "Mr. Big" Vernon's bar. The dvd looks great in wide screen. I would have loved a commentary from the guys involved. Still, highly recommended... especially for blaxploitation nuts with a sense of humor.
