Summary: An ok follow up!
Review: As stated above, this movie is "OK" as a follow up to the first movie. I felt that they spent way too much time showing Will Smith flashing people and telling them how to change their lives. I also feel that they could've done a better job with the script and gotten at least an hour and a half out of this story. Overall a good movie, I just don't feel that it lives up to the wait from the last one or all the hyped up advertising.

Summary: What happened?
Review: The first movie was amazing! Everything was fresh, new, funny and perfectly done. The second one delivers about half of what the first one did (if that). You would think a six-year-sequel would have more input on comedy, length and content. K takes too long to come into the storyline, the whole "light of Zartha" thing made the movie seem like a bad fantasy instead of a great sci-fi comedy (MIB 1). The girl that played the alien was terrible, she wasn't even hot, and she overacted way too much just like Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) in Batman & Robin. On top of all this, the movie was too short (88 minutes). The comedy falls so short from the first one, it was hardly funny. One good thing about the movie was the dog, he was hillarious! But, again, he wasn't in the movie enough. If you like MIB 1, I recommend going to see it, there are some good parts. It was kinda good overall, not excellent, great, amazing or even good, only kinda good. The first one is much better and delivers much more than this one.

Summary: Give Me A Break
Review: This movie was nothing but an attempt to capitalize off of a past hit. The only reason this was made is because MIB 1 did good in the box office. Other than having the same characters and being about aliens, MIBII had nothing to do with the first movie. It did not build a pone the already developed characters and did not offer anything new. If not for the comedy and FX, I would have walked out over the sheer disappointment of the existence of this film. The best thing about this film was that Lara Flynn Boyle walked around half dressed the whole time.

Summary: What a Horrible Movie.
Review: This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen. This is hands down the worst movie of 2002. This movie has no story as usual and the supposed evil person in the story Lara Flynn Boyle, they don't even give a reason why she is evil. We're just supposed to presume that she is evil. The deneurilizer effect joke only works for so long and at the end it being in the Statue Of Liberty's torch was ridiculous. This movie was release for money and Will Smith's poor box office numbers of his last two movies Ali and the Legend Of Bagger Vance. This movie deserves to be in the top 100 worst movies of all time!

Summary: Fun!!!
Review: Not fantastic or marvelous, just a continuation of the first movie, but a little funnier. Frank The Pug steals the show.

Summary: They¿re Back in Black Without Knowing Why
Review: As I started watching " Men in Black II", I was wondering why the movie was made. The first movie was an excellent summer film, but this is much less so.

This film has left out the sense of humor that made the first installment so fun to watch. The movie brings back all the familiar characters from number one. Including their cool high-tech gadgets, ferocious man-eating alien scum and of course a villain.

"Men in Black II" starts out as Agent Jay(Smith) struggling to find a good partner after Agent Kay(Jones) left the MIB. After "denerilizing" all of his past partners, Jay is forced to bring back Kay for an important mission that he was involved with 25 years ago. Since Kay's memory of working with the MIB is lost, Jay must bring back his memory. For the past five years Kay has been working at a post office.

Soon, an evil alien, Serleena(Lara Flynn Boyle), who looks like a little plant, lands in the center of Central Park and looks at a Victoria's Secret magazine. One of her powers is transforming into any form it sees ,so it transforms into the shape of one of the models in the catalog, looking like Lara Flynn Boyle. All she really does in the movie is show off her "sexy" body. She seeks the "Light of Zertha" which is the key to ruling the Earth. Agent Zed(Rip Torn) wants Kay back because he's the only person that can defeat Serleena.

There are many funny scenes in the film. For example: Kay finds out that all the people working in the post office are aliens, and Tony Shaloub returns with his black marketer role, Jeebs. Although some portion of the movie was funny, way too much was taken from the first film. The original MIB showed celebrities as aliens. In MIB2, they use the same idea with Michael Jackson and Martha Stewart.

"Men in Black II" tries too hard to create laughter with the talking dog Frank(voiced by Tim Blaney), who also works at the MIB agency. He enjoys singing to the radio and at one point he starts to sing along to "Who Let the Dogs Out" which irritates Jay very much. That was really the only reason he was put in the film, to irritate Jay.

Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith put too much energy into their comedy and business roles, while Sonnenfield's crew provides excellent special effects. In the end, "Men in Black II" has no importance or meaning.

Summary: Funny
Review: ... THIS IS A COMEDY! This isn't Shakespeare(thank God)This is a fun movie and portrays a more realistic way of showing just how hectic there jobs really are. The first, well it didn't. The dog was funny, and the commercials didn't even show a portion of how funny he was. This is better than the first one, because like the second one these are both comedys and not a sci-fi action flick, wich would be stupid, but just oure fun. ... If you like the Matrix, I'm sorry, then you'll love this film!

Summary: Disapointing but still mildly entertaining
Review: Men in Black was funny, slick and original, even had it's scenes of wonder. Men in Black 2 is just....well funny. It brings Will Smith back as Agent J who brings Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) back because he's the only one that knows where the light is. The light is something a plant alien in the form of the sexy Lara Flynn Boyle is looking for. Not really sure what the light does or why she wants it though. A lot is sort of unexplained in this movie, Johnny Knoxville as the 2 headed alien is fun but I can't recall him being either killed or caught by the MIB, he just disapears. Rip Torn as Zed has this terrible little scene that doesn't work at all where he unloads on Lara Flynn Boyle with flying Lord of the Dance like kicks to face. Plus there's a video tape that is available to man kind about the men in black and Boyle's plant alien but it's not explained how it got out and why J and K find the need in watching it. Smith and Jones are good but not really in top form, were better together in the first. The laughs and creatures are what save the film for me though. Frank the talking pug has more to do and is just hilarious in his small scenes in the beginning as J's partner. The Worms are fun too and have more to do as well.

Other than that it's sort of a recyled version of the first. Perhaps Barry Sonnenfeld could of got some creative ideas from watching the cartoon series. On that they had alien hit men, visiting alien planets and other cool ideas like that. That would of been cool. I don't not like Men in Black 2 but it's certainly not going on my top 10 of 2002 list either. For Men in Black 3 they need some fresher ideas and certainly a better script.

Summary: A sequel that is better than the first
Review: Mib II is clearly funnier than the first because it crosses more lines than the first Mib. This film has more adult content than the first movie and far more profanity. It is crazier than te first and one of the very few times a sequel is as good or better than the first. You probably have been discipointed before because a sequel is not as good as the first one. Jurassic Park3 was a terrible film. Best sequel of all time has to be.............T-2. Well the dog is really funny in his larger role in this movie. Bottm Line: B+
